Pretty good 525 odd pages of review. I found most of the sections (minus homeostasis and endocrine which at times were overly detailed and hella confusing) to be thoughtfully laid out with enough sidebar diagrams and notations. I wish the High Yield section had answers to the bonus questions at the end, but other than that there are a decent amount of review questions at the end of every unit and 3 bio practice tests at the back.

This book in particular in Kaplan's MCAT series is pretty dense, but on the plus side, it clearly explains concepts without leaving out any details. Overall, this was a well-written and easy to follow book. I especially recommend Chapter 8 on the Immune System as this gives a general understanding before explaining all of the details which was beyond helpful for me. A thrilling account of the human body and the systems that work together to make a fully (or near fully) functioning being. It'll keep you guessing throughout: "Is this important information?" or "Do I really need to memorize that?" All around, a thorough exploration of the human biological condition and a great read for anyone planning on writing the MCAT. For all others, steer clear. I think this is a good review book because it contains enough detail without overdoing the information you need for the MCAT. I felt some of the practice tests in the end expected you to know information not presented in the review text, however, so that is why my rating is a 4 star.
