What I love about Toko Kawai's manga is that she is someone who can tell stories about couples. Okay, in this case it's the typical misunderstandings ("In the walnut" is better because there it isn't about jealousy or exes or something similar), but it's fun and cute and lovely and a great read. So this volume was a bit about the development of their relationship, but mostly about jealousy. How disappointing. I don't even know how to rate it. I can't believe I waited so long to read the sequel for it to be this? Jealousy isn't cute. Specially of 8th graders and such. There was also the recurring theme of how we can't all be civilized adults one must keep a distance between themselves and their exes, for the sake of the current relationship. There was also the recurring theme of how we can't all be civilized adults one must keep a distance between themselves and their exes, for the sake of the current relationship. One is weak to an ex's presence, also obviously exes are extremely seductive. *cough cough* While simultaneously, after a jealousy scene that involved a slap and a scary tantrum, came the message that you shouldn't change yourself for your lover, and that there should be more communication about what one hates about their lover's behaviour aka I don't like it when you hug your ex. Make up your mind!! And Japanese ladies really need to open their minds to how these relationships are frequently problematic, even if just a bit. Rise up from submission!! I forgot to add this has, at one point, sex in which one of the participants is drunk, which I hate and is this big trope in manga.

One of the best and sweetest love stories in this genre I've ever read. It leaves a pleasant and warm aftertaste. In times it's sweet and ever so gentle but also touching, funny, hot & educative in a way (you'll definitely learn something about sake there). I read whole three volumes at once & reread many times so I'm going to cheat a bit & leave same review under all three volumes as I can't really separate them and I'm totally in love with this story. I read whole three volumes at once & reread many times so I'm going to cheat a bit & leave same review under all three volumes as I can't really separate them and I'm totally in love with this story. It's also a story I go to when I need to run away from the cruel reality and just relax with something joyful, hopeful & warm. I can describe these three volumes as the beginning & growing of love in the 1st volume (where sincere & charming Mutsuki wins over & melts iced broken Shu's heart and their love begins). In the 2nd volume their love blossoms as they also learn to compromise with each other as well as accept & understand their differences & views on life & romance - they deepen their bond and trust. Finally in the 3rd volume we see the harvest time - sweet & tasty like ripe apple. We see true love between two adequate adults in a strong loving relationship where they care & support each other & also are taking another big step forward. Three volumes are really not enough - I wish there were more, not because the story is unfinished (because it is finished in a satisfying way) but because it's so addictively charming that you'll definitely want more, plus the drawing style is wonderful too. So I'll recommend it to those who want to read a love story between two mature adults that feels real & believable, warm & without unnecessary drama, with sweet sexy scenes & sake. It will definitely leave you pleased.

A consensual yaoi romance where the characters discuss their issues like actual adults?! Why hasn't SuBLime released this in a print edition yet? A consensual yaoi romance where the characters discuss their issues like actual adults?! Why hasn't SuBLime released this in a print edition yet?
