Though this is listed as a "Preppers" book and is very much that, it also just has a multitude of meals that can be made regularly, with reasonable substitutes, along with simple, basic recipes, such as tortillas and no rise bread. It also has tons of information on canning, which I did not have any prior knowledge on, but was so easy to follow the step by step instructions. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn basic recipes, substitution in meals and baking, and how to be more frugal and prepared with your groceries.

This book has everything a beginning prepper needs to know to get started on their stockpiling. From how to store your food, which kinds of food to store, where to store your food to recipes for your stored food, this book has it all!

I'm glad I purchased it. The beginning section about canning, storing etc I found the most valuable. The recipes look good (can't say I've tried them yet) but I like how she incorporates what you would theoretically store with them. In an emergency you would be able to use most of these recipes (if you had a way to cook them) but there are a few that need eggs. I was hoping for more "meals in a jar" sort of thing, which this is not. But it doesn't negate its usefulness. I'm glad I purchased it. I don't think you can build a comprehensive pantry to "survive any disaster" as claimed on the back cover. The cookbook briefly covers methods of long-term food storage and then includes some basic recipes. Most of these are basic cooking recipes as found in any cookbook. A few use dehydrated foods, as would be expected in a prepper cookbook. As far as a basic cookbook goes, the recipes look decent. It's just not what I would expect in looking at a "prepper cookbook". Excellent! This book included so many helpful tips that I had never even considered. There are a few pages devoted to tips for adding items to canned foods to make them go farther-like adding instant potato flakes and dry milk powder to canned cream corn to make a thick corn chowder.
