It's nice to get these five books together in one collection for the less than the price you would pay for each title individually in the Amazon Kindle store. What I also appreciate is the Sackett books are in historical, not date written, order as you can chronicle the lives of the Sackett clan through early American history. Louis L'Amour was not one of the most technical or long-winded writers, he was short, succinct, and to the point and had a way that grabs you into the story immediately. The descriptions of the scenery, events, people, and situations made you feel as if you were right there living it side-by-side with his characters. With the first five books of the series, you not only have the classic Louis L'Amour situations with the good guy fighting the bad guy, a life-threatening conflict, the good guy wins and gets the girl, you also get more of a historical educational aspect of the life and times of late 1500 – 1600’s England and the New World. As I type this review, this combination of the five stories is priced at $22.99, compared to $5.99 each if you bought them on a standalone basis in the Kindle format: the $22.99 for all five is a good value vs. approximately $30 on an individual basis - you'll get a lot more than $22.99 of entertainment out of these!

Awesome!! I have been reading books by Louis L'Amour books since I was old enough to read. Growing up just across the border, in Montana, I was able to experience some of the western world he always writes about. Awesome!! Fantastic These are books that I have read over and never tiring of the stories on these pages. As I read I feel that I am walking along side of them through their travels and adventures. Louis L'Amour is the best at putting a story to into words to read. Fantastic These are books that I have read over and never tiring of the stories on these pages. Awesome as per usual I had said for a number of years that they should do a Compendium of the Sackett Novels glad to see that it's finely been presented 😊😊😊 Awesome as per usual I had said for a number of years that they should do a Compendium of the Sackett Novels glad to see that it's finely been presented 😊😊😊

Gripping, great reading! Great read. Learned more American history than in high school and college even though in novel form. L'Amour is a master of historical fiction. Gripping, great reading! I read this to catch the last two stories Jubal and Ride the River, having previously read the others. Love the panoramic scope of Louis L'Amour's saga. The character's are rugged, righteous people; what we like to think of of the prototypical "Americans". The descriptions of the wilderness are magnificent and the stories and characters well drawn. My only issue is that the timelines for some of the journeys seem too short, but it doesn't really distract from the enjoyment. The best books that I have ever read. With out a doubt. I have every book he has ever written. I have been to places that he uses in his stories. It becomes a whole new experience when you have read about the place that you are at. I mourned his passing as I would have a family member. He will be missed by many avid readers of the wild west. I'm grateful that I was here for some of the best reading of the real cowboys bible that you will ever know. God Bless. I shall see him in heaven. The best books that I have ever read. I read most of Louis L'Amour's books years ago. The Sackett books were my favorites. When I found them in historical order on Amazon, I couldn't resist. The books are as fun to read as they were when I was younger. I'm enjoying filling in the relationships and the connections between the stories. If you've not read these, you should. and rereading them is a lot of fun as well. I read most of Louis L'Amour's books years ago. The Sackett books were my favorites. The Sacketts have always been good reading, with a touch of history. Louis L' Amour for me is about the best Western writer of all time. Excellent! A very good western. Always wanted to get all these Sackett Westerns together. The family is amazing and the writer brings them to life. The Sacketts have always been good reading, with a touch of history. Classic storytelling for all ages I first discovered Louis l'Amour as a young reader. His stories paint a picture of the west they I would later come to appreciate even more when I moved there. The Sackett tales are ones of courage and conviction that run thru the spirit of those who founded our nation. I would encourage young readers and old to pick up one today. I do like Louis L'Amour and this is a good series. The characters are well developed. The history is there but spotty. We know there were Europeans before Columbus. We know much of the information he cites as probably factual but lacking history, historical history fills the void. I like this. I will continue with the series from here. As a genealogy buff, I enjoyed the first volumes of this series because I imagined it as part of my family, Scots-irish who came over to the Carolinas and moved westward. Of course, as far as I know, our family was far more boring!

I've been rereading all of these books over the last few months. These are the books started my love of reading when I was 5 or 6 years old. My father read these books and that started my life long love of reading. The books are still entertaining. I've been rereading all of these books over the last few months. These books are so much fun to read!! Perfect for a road trip/vacation. This set of books were just as much fun to read now as they were as a teenager.
