"New Fiction" needs to be removed from the title. The only thing new in this book is 15 pages at the end presented as "Behind the Scenes" interview with the characters of the book. Almost 130 pages are devoted to Residents and Visitors (a list of characters in all the books) and another 30 pages is dedicated to Places mentioned in the series. I love the Elm Creek Quilts series. I waited in grand anticipation for this one last Elm Creek Quilts book that would completely tie up all the rest of the series. When my book arrived from amazon.com, I tore into it with my usual Elm Creek enthusiasm. Sadly, what I found in my hands was what read like a textbook to me. It has drawings and descriptions of all the quilt blocks mentioned (but no patterns). There was no story at all, and if you've read the other books, and looked at the quilt block drawings on the end papers, there was nothing new at all here. Sigh. I'm saddened that Chiaverini has moved on. Her characters have become my friends through the years. It's hard to say, "Good-bye."

I love the Elm Creek Quilt series! However this book was a big disappointment! There was nothing new here. Oner 100 pages of character sketches. Not a good value. Even if you are new to the series this doe not enhance your reading experience. And if you are a regular reader of the series there is nothing new here.

I really enjoyed this book, in particular the photographs of quilts and the blocks. It has been a source of inspiration for my own quilts and workshops.

I am still making my way through the Elm Creek Quilts series. I thought this companion book was helpful to go through to help me keep the stories and the characters straight. Some of the earlier books in the series, I have read awhile ago. The companion book was great to have to remind myself about the earlier stories. I also enjoyed being able to see pictures of the quilts that are mentioned in the books. This companion includes book synopsis, timelines, place notes and more. If you have read some of the Elm Creek Quilt books this companion will help you place it within the arch of all the books. If you are looking for further insight into this series, the companion is really a summary of what you find in the books already. I received a copy through Goodreads First Reads.

This book compiles all 20 volumes in the Elm Creek Quilts series, giving a brief summary of each book, a list of all the characters appearing in the volumes, a guide to locations and projects done and a brief fictional interview with the staff of Elm Creek Quilts. Recommended for fans wanting to keep up with who's who in the volumes. This is a great "reference" guide to the fictional world of the Elm Creek Quilters. It has a new short story by Jennifer Chiaverini, plus lists of characters and quilt blocks that are mentioned in the series. I have read many of the Elm Creek series, but I see there are still a few I might enjoy. It is nice to read stories about quilters written by someone who not only knows what she is writing about, but has a passion for the craft.

Way more information than I ever wanted about the series. If a character was in a book - no matter how significant, they will be in this book. No depth, not really a book I wanted - if I want to read a reference book, it will be about something more important than a light series of books.

This companion includes brief book synopsis, timeline, character list, place, manor blueprints, quilt patterns, and photos of quilts featured in the series. There is one new mini story that is an interview with reflections from the cofounders and teachers on the ten seasons of quilt camps.

A lovely companion for anyone who enjoys the Elm Creek Quilts series. Indexes all characters, locations, quilt blocks and other miscellaneous information. Ends with a lovely interview with the Elm Creek main characters.
