As you would expect with a choose-your-own-adventure style book, it's a very quick read. I read through several different scenarios, and honestly they were all cliche. The humor was lame and the characters were flat. Overall it was just ridiculous. As you would expect with a choose-your-own-adventure style book, it's a very quick read. A chose-your-own adventure, written in 2nd-person. Chic-lit, but don't read it for plot. It's for immersing yourself in a fantasy with no consequences, complete with zany situations. A fast read. Oh, it's a dirty chose-your-own adventure! Which guy will you end up with? (William Morrow sent me an advance copy give-away) A chose-your-own adventure, written in 2nd-person. I read this after A Girl Walks Into a Bar: Your Fantasy, Your Rules and I enjoyed it even more. While these books probably sit under erotica, the choose-your-own-adventure element makes them like fun puzzles. And with the wedding setting in this book, it brings together all our best loved romantic comedy tropes and jokes. I think I enjoyed this one even more than the BAR book because it was like being in a funny, frothy romcom starring Julia Roberts/Meg Ryan/other 90s staples except with more sex I read this after A Girl Walks Into a Bar: Your Fantasy, Your Rules and I enjoyed it even more. An adult version of the Choose Your Own Adventure books that those of us in our thirties and forties encountered as children. The book is fun and easy, and just suggestive enough to make you feel like a femme fatale.

A Girl Walks Into a Wedding: Your Fantasy, Your RulesHelena S. Paige This book is written in the same style as those Choose Your Own Adventure books I adored when I was a kid. It was so fun to see the different ways to go in this book! I loved seeing where the different decisions would take me, and I especially enjoyed that I could read one version of it over lunch, one version of it on a break, one version of it before dinner...you get the picture. Short erotic stories that give me a quick, 10 minute escape without me needing a whole lot of back story - I was totally into this. Highly recommended, 4 stars!

It's a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure romance novel! It's not good, of course -- you never read choose-your-own-adventure books (or romance novels) for the plot. The writing's thin and cliched. But there are myriad paths to go down, and so many people to sleep with. Could it be better? Of course. But it's entertaining for what it is (if highly descriptive in its scenarios -- the writers are much better at writing sex scenes than my college roommate and I were when we tried our hands at the genre). I'm clearly not the intended audience for the A Girl Walks Into A series, but it turned up amongst a bunch of other Choose Your Own Adventure books in a search and I figured it'd make for an amusing read. Unfortunately, it was less amusing even than the authors intended it to be, the deliberate humor in it falls flat at every juncture and it's too dull for a "so bad it's good" level of funny. To the extent that it functions as a CYOA book it's wobbly, with choices generally only representing a brief divergence before coming back together with no lasting effects; however, there are also moments where you're railroaded into doing things that you might be averse to either with no actual choice given or the choice having the same outcome either way. Under normal circumstances this would be aggravating, but when that railroading or false set of choices lead "you," the point of view character, into actually having sex with someone you find objectionable it'd probably ruin the fun even for the intended audience. There's a lesbian sex scene that you can come across in the book, but the choice to reach it gives absolutely no hint that it's going to happen. Now, for me this was a happy accident, but to the presumed heterosexual female reader it's probably jarring and possibly unpleasant to watch as the "Your fantasy, your rules" of the book's subtitle goes out the window. The sex itself is written in a pedestrian manner, though I don't know anything about romance as a genre so maybe that's just the way it usually goes. You can't even choose to have a threesome with the bride and groom. What the heck?

This book could have been a lot better. There are quite a few choices in the book where you do not get to do the choice that you selected. For example, if you choose to go to the wedding alone, you are still thrown together with some guy. If going to the wedding alone is not possible, why is it even given to you as a choice? I hated this book. Yes you do get to choose your own adventure but I feel like there where choices the reader should have been given instead of the author choosing for you. The reader should be able to choose to kiss the boy and the sexual thoughts went to far. If these had been a choice it would have been different but just because you go to a wedding with someone does not mean you are going to kiss them or want to have sex. I DNF this book. I picked up this book on a whim, thinking it would be like a grown-up choose your own adventure. In some ways, it was like that, but overall this was really just a terrible book. There weren't as many choices as in the children's CYOA.. and there was no story line... just erotic smut. I would have preferred a little character developement, and maybe some actual story and adventure. I'm surprised I actually made it to an ending.. even though it only took 45 minutes or so. Really disappointing. I was looking forward to this thinking I would have to make loads of decisions during my best friend’s wedding!! I wanted to make decisions I would actually make in real life but it’s just impossible. When the choices are do you have sex with this guy right now or in a minute there’s not much choice at all! Don’t read this if you actually like cheeky chick-lits because you will be disappointed!

I do think it would be good for a reading group discussion, to see if any other options arise that are not mentioned. Overall I liked the concept, found the cover and title befitting to the novel. I found it lacked essence to the story, this is the second in the 'a girl walks in...' series, so I would just for the experience try to get hold of the 'a girl walks into a bar' novel

Picked this up from a book fair on a whim. I love the concept! Coincidentally there are two weddings I've been invited to this month, and this was a fun way to allay the anxiety. To be honest I had low expectations for this, and was expecting generic smut, but I was happy to find that the smexy scenes are pretty hot (I've seriously read worse published erotica), and the characters are 2.25D (just a notch above being completely flat, but of course not even close to becoming rounded). There's were also some moments where the writing shows some wit. There's something in here for everybody's taste in men (or, spoiler! Women), and I liked how if I didn't like where something was going I just backtracked and tried the other path. It just makes my inner Gemini so happy. I need more of these please!

A Girl Walks into a Wedding is just a purely for fun chick-lit style book. The scenes are a little cliché, the characters not well-developed but who cares? There are some sexy men, both the kind that make one night stands and the kind that might be the perfect match. It’s steamy, a little graphic, and funny. It’s also a quick read, a nice one to read a scenario or two and then set aside to pick back up another day.

***SPOILERS***I enjoy these kind of books but this time this one just went by to fast. I was fortunate to receive a digital copy of this book from the Avon Romance team for a review. The nostalgic idea behind this book had me enthralled with the story until my choices led me to an abrupt ending. I was disappointed that my ficticious promiscuity was lacking in depth. "a girl walks into a wedding" is one of the most unusual books I have ever read. I absolutely loved all the options I had. Some of the options I picked were better than others but it was never the same. If you didn't like what you picked you can go back and it changes the whole story. Jack was my favorite! I gave this book a 2 because I hated it. The intended audience is adults because it is to inappropriate for my grade. When I read the blurb I said to myself this is going to be a good book. It turns out when I got to the middle it got too inappropriate. The thing that I did like was that she puts you in the place of the main character. One thing I did not like was that at the end of the chapter it said if you want this go to page 56. This was a quick and fun read. I have never read a book where I could choose where I wanted it to take me! I was able to choose where my erotic path ventured to, and who I would be doing it with. I expected a little bit more, but considering I have never experienced anything like this so I have nothing to compare it to. I give this fun and adventurous book 3 stars.

I won this book for free through a Goodreads giveaway. A choose your own adventure with an erotic twist. I made sure to read every available option, and followed every different choice. Even though I made sure to finish the book, it was only just ok. The different paths just made me realize "I" am a sex fiend that makes horrible decisions. The sex scenes were good though.
