As Deputy Director General, he was responsible for the marketing of Indian tourism in different parts of the world and as a field officer he has handled several assignments in India’s overseas tourist offices at Brussels, Paris and Geneva. He has represented the Ministry of Tourism at various international conferences. After obtaining a postgraduate degree from the University of Delhi, he acquired advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism Marketing from the University of Viterbo, Italy. He has a number of articles to his credit, both in International and Indian journals. Mr. Bhatia was a Director of Education, Kuoni Academy, a part of Kuoni Travels, a multinational Swiss travel company, where he coordinated and taught Tourism Management programmes for six years from 2005-2010. He had earlier coordinated and taught Tourism Management to postgraduate students at Delhi University for several years. He has also been associated with the Indian Institute of Travel and Tourism Management, Ministry of Tourism and several other institutes imparting training in travel and tourism management.
