Warren Wiersbe is one of my dad's favorite authors, so when I began seeing his books occasionally free on Amazon, I grabbed them. It's taken me a couple of years to read my first one though. This devotional book has 68 short chapters (which could probably be read in ten minutes for the average reader), each of which gives practical application of the Scripture. I was intrigued with how Wiersbe prefaced the book with Paul's writing of saying "five words with understanding" then he spent the entire 68 chapters focusing on five words from a passage. So neat! There were a couple things I'm not 100% sure I agreed with but they were all small issues that weren't doctrinal (mainly he applied a verse differently than I'd heard it applied before). I don't even remember what they were. Didn't stand out as vital disagreements. He did use a variety of Bible translations, and I prefer KJV.

Wiersbe's books are always educational, uplifting, and thought-provoking. This slim volume of devotionals is ideal as an introduction to his work, and satisfying as a daily reminder of fellowship with our Lord Jesus.
