I love Reading Rainbow and I agree with most of their selections, but I didn't need to read this book. It was written in 1994, after the first 100 episodes. The producers picked the "101 Best Children's Books" from the 400 that had been included in those 100 episodes. I liked the intro that discussed how the show came to be, how they selected LeVar to host and how the episodes were developed. The list was helpful, but the PBS/Reading Rainbow website (http://pbskids.org/readingrainbow/) is more u I love Reading Rainbow and I agree with most of their selections, but I didn't need to read this book. In my opinion, there's no need to pick 101 of the books, you should read anything that's ever been featured on Reading Rainbow!
