Ok, before I get into my review, I have to say that the title of this book was a little distracting for me. Every time I saw it on GR or my kindle I could hear Shang singing "Let's get down to business, to defeat the Huns!" And it made me giggle every time. Yes, I'm easily amused ;) OMG. That was freaking horrible! The worst ending ever! Or since Fallen Too Far! I literally said "OMG! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Then I proceeded to rock in a corner for having fallen over another cliff. Or, Ok, before I get into my review, I have to say that the title of this book was a little distracting for me. Then I proceeded to rock in a corner for having fallen over another cliff. Or, TBC. Those are just as bad. I really need to start looking before I jump. But with all that said. This book was good! I had trouble putting it down. I liked Autumn and Vinny. I'll admit that I was skeptical of Vinny when I first met him. I wasn't convinced that I would like him. Especially since he was friends with Trevor. And let me state it clearly...I hated Trevor. Best thing that ever happened with him was him moving out. Awful guy! Horrible! Jerk! Cad! Anywho...I wasn't expecting to like Vinny because of Trevor. But I did. However, even though I liked him, I wish I had his POV. I love dual POV books and always feel like I'm missing part of the story when I don't have it. Even though I did enjoy this, I did have a few issues. First...Lindy. Lindy was Autumn's bff. She started out great. Perfect friend. But there were times that I felt like she had a split personality. I didn't like the way she treated Autumn at times. And because of that, I had a real love hate relationship with her. Second, Vivian. I loathed her. Much more than I disliked Lindy and hated Trevor. Vivian was an absolute monster! So horrible! I loathed her with every bone in my body. I wanted to go all Dexter on her! So you can imagine that I wasn't happy with the way the ending went down. Especially since it had to do with Vivian. But J.C. Alexander did an amazing job making her so horrible. Overall, this was a really enjoyable book and I thank the author for giving me the chance to read it. :)

I get both sides but did wonder why Autumn stuck by Vinny instead of moving on initially. I am curious where the story leads so will pick up the next book.

Things between them become heated over the next few days and Autumn struggles with moving out. Thus getting the job from hell. She meets Vinny the morning after she moves in, running into him coming out of the shower. From that moment on Vinny is constantly on her mind. As Vinny and Autumn struggle to figure out what is between them and how they can be together, they also have to think about how far they will go to be with each other. Could they give it all up? And what about that bitch Vivian? She just can't keep her hands to herself. And the ending.... I loved this book and really wish the second one was out already. I was so frustrated with Vinny and Autumn. I wished Autumn would just cut Vinny loose and move on. Find someone who treated her like she wasn't a secret. I wanted to smack Vinny for leading them both on because I had a bad feeling about Vivian. I did say she was a bitch, right? Right! Now he's gone and screwed it all up. Literally! This story was written so well, I found that I was telling myself I would read one more chapter before going to bed. Five chapters later and I still couldn't put it down. A very good thing, I assure you. The details were spot on and made me feel like I was a fly on the wall. I need to know what happens next, like yesterday!! Lol!! Absolutely loved it!!

I received a copy of Down to Business in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to a scholarship, Autumn is joining her best friend, Lindy, at Adelphi Univeristy, 2 years after graduating from college. She's excited to have 3 hours distance between college and her family as she's anxious to step out a bit from the demands of working at her family restaurant and dealing with her divorced parents. Autumn's plan is to move in with Lindy. But Lindy doesn't tell Autumn that she'll be a third roommate (Lindy's boyfriend is staying there too temporarily, while he hopes to join a fraternity). Autumn meets Vinny in one of her business classes and soon finds herself falling for him. He helps her find a job, at his family's restaurant in the city and soon they are spending a lot of time together, much to the chagrin on his mom and his clingy obnoxious ex-girlfriend. Vinny finds himself falling her too, even though she's unlike any girl that he's ever dated before, but will his mom and his ex-girlfriend find a way to keep Autumn and Vinny apart? I loved this book!! I made the mistake of starting it after midnight last night when I wasn't able to sleep and at 2:15, I had to force myself to put the Kindle down because I had to be up in a few hours and needed to get at least a little bit of sleep. Fast forward to morning and I hurried to get ready for work so that I could try to get to the end of the book, which I'm happy to say I did! There were a few times that I wanted to slap Autumn for being so wishy-washy on having a relationship with Vinny, but I get that her insecurities came from having to deal with the ex-girlfriend, who I wanted to actually punch, not just slap through the majority of Autumn's dealings with her. Vinny had a lot to deal with with his family and the restaurant and that ex-girlfriend so there were a couple instances where he too could have used a slap, but he definitely won me over. Down to Business does end with an event that has the reader wondering what happens next so I'm hopeful that J.C. Alexander will do all of us fans a favor and get the second book in the Business series written and published quickly!

Received a copy from author for honest review. I really enjoyed this book. It had some of my favorite elements, angst, psycho exes, cat fights, douchy frat boys, rich boy/broke girl and love. I got involved with the characters and had a lot of WTF moments. I couldn't stop reading once I started! This will definitely be a re-read before the next book comes out. I literally can't wait!! I usually hate cliffhangers but I like knowing there more to come about these characters. Reallllllly enjoyed it. NO Received a copy from author for honest review. I really enjoyed this book. Once she arrives she soon discovers Lindy's boyfriend is going to be living with them for a while. When Lindy wakes up one morning to use the bathroom it is occupied and she becomes annoyed until a freshly showered gorgeous guy exits the bathroom...Vinny. Autumn is a blubbering mess and tries to quickly make her escape before further humiliating herself. Later that morning they discover they are in the same business class together. They have an instant connection and Autumn finds herself thinking about him all the time. They consider their relationship a friendship that's easily pushing those boundaries. They both claim to care for each other and Vinny repeatedly tells her that he doesn't want a relationship or to hurt her all while he's stringing someone else along. I really liked this book and had a hard time putting it down but there were a few things that bothered me. First being, Lindy, Autumn's so called "best friend," I found her to be very self-fish and self-centered same goes for Vinny claiming he loves and cares for Autumn but stringing Vivian along for the business. I also felt that after Autumn told him what had happened to her during her one and only sexual experience he would have made their’s a little more special. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with sex on a pool table and it is hot and sexy but for her first "real" sexual experience I felt he could have kept it in his pants and waited until it was a little more special for her. I know she was a willing participant but it just would have convinced me a little more that he cared for her. Lastly, why do all girls have to be such bitches to each other? I liked Suz and Autumn all the other girls were bitches and "sluts." I hope Autumn really lays into Lindy and Vinny in the sequel and makes Vinny crawl and beg for her. I will be reading the sequel and really hope it's out soon. This is just a note and nothing against this author but every book I've reviewed including this one has ended in a cliff hanger and I usually am not bothered by it but it is beginning bother me a bit.

2 1/2 stars I thought one thing going into this book, and came out thinking another entirely. Vinny, while initially coming off as a guy who's having problems with his ex-girlfriend, ends up looking like a complete jerk. I seriously don't understand why girls would put up with being told they have to do things on the down low because of his family and the ex. Bull! It seemed like a lot of unnecessary drama and a lot of lying so that Vinny could get what he wanted from both Vivian and Amber. It seemed like a lot of unnecessary drama and a lot of lying so that Vinny could get what he wanted from both Vivian and Amber. And he did. I wish that Amber would have taken her school more seriously, and focused on that and that she would have kicked Vinny to the side. But that didn't happen. I didn't like the way the book ended, with a cliffhanger. A major one at that. In the beginning of this book I so wanted Amber and Vinny to be together and have a happy ending. By the end, I really wasn't sure I liked either one of them. Vinny for being such a tool, and Amber for letting him lie and walk all over her, while at the same time doing pretty much the same to Vivian. I guess I just didn't connect with the characters all that much. It's been a long time since I was in college, and I just can't see girls being that desperate for a guy. But that's my opinion, you may feel differently. Maybe it's because my oldest is in college, and I just have a hard time envisioning him acting the way these characters do. I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

When it’s out of necessity and not want? It does need another pass through editing, there are misspelled words, duplicate words, and wrong word placement but for ME it didn’t detract too much from the story line There is a cliffhanger I wasn’t sure if I would like this book but wanted to give it a try and I am so glad that I did! I really enjoyed it! It was a quick read, not too deep, kinda sappy but I was diggin’ it. You are introduced to Autumn or Auti and she is called by her friends when she finally goes off to college and moves in with her bestfriend Lindy. Auti’s back story is introduced very quickly and they do play on it a little but she’s not really shy about hiding it; I wasn’t too sure on how I felt about this. She meets Vinny or Vincenzo and for her it’s warm, tingly, wanting to do what I said I would never do instalove. For him, not so much but he warms up to her and I enjoyed that part. I was taken through a good range of emotion while reading this book. I laughed. A LOT. I rolled my eyes, cussed out every character in this book and when you read it you will understand why. Felt sad and relieved. Oh, Lindy gave sh!t advice be forewarned I found myself thinking "Why the funk would you tell her to do that?! That's horrible advice!!" So Lindy... That ending?! The second book doesn’t come out until Summer of 2014 per the end of the book, but I will be looking for it and praying that Vivian is just simply…a slut. Read it, I can’t wait to see what you think about it!

I received this in exchange for an honest review. Autumn or Auti as she seems to prefer, was strong because she dealt with anything that came her way. She wasn't afraid to say what she was feeling whether it was a conflict with Lindy or Vivian. That being said, when it came to Vinny she tended to be wishy-washy and a little needy. Can I just say, LOVED this book! Not one time did I get bored. This book had some HOT as hell moments.Autumn is definitely a character I could identify with. At times she did seem a little whiney, and illogical, but hey, aren't we all? Love Vinney and his extra sausage. Grandma and Uncle Tommy are HILARIOUS. Vivian should die in a horrible freak accident in the sequel....just sayin. The ending pissed me off, but I've never liked cliff hangers ;) Looking forward to the next book!!!! The first words that come to mind after reading this are: angst, drama and hot sex. Okay maybe hot sex isn't one word, but you get the idea. This story was full of mean [email protected]$*hes, (Vivian *cough*), cheating jerks and one very hot Italian (with extra sausage) Oh, and a temperamental heroine who could kick a$$. Now, to the Italian sausage, I actually really liked Vinny's character, despite his flaws. I could understand where he was coming from, he was sexy and he was very sweet. Unfortunately, Auti just wasn't my type of girl. She was impulsive and irrational. That being said, I didn't hate her completely. I felt for her by the end and sympathized with the situations she found herself in. And it was pretty sweet that she could handle her own. Generally I like the secondary characters in stories, in this one I didn't really have a vibe for them. But that's alright, Vinny and Auti were okay for me. All in all, despite the major downfalls I found in the characters actions, I found this to be enticing and intriguing and it kept me on the edge of my seat. Oh, and that darn epilogue...yep definitely need the second one just to see how everything unfolds! This is a solid 3.5 stars for me.

Instead, he finds himself falling for Autumn, an awkward girl who doesn’t even seem in the same league. But as these two grow closer to each other, there are people who will stop at nothing to keep them apart. Autumn was a lovely, amazing character. I liked her awkwardness, the way she handled herself through everything, her intelligence, her quiet strength. I liked Vinny too, as the book progressed, but I wasn’t very fond of him at first. I absolutely hated his Mom, but I think most of the readers probably do. She’s a control freak, and has Vinny in an iron-tight grip. The book had lots of romance, some steamy scenes, a good dose of drama and humor, and an enjoyable cast. An excellent read if you’re in the mood for some romance.

Down to business was a dramatic read; slightly frustrating and a little sexy. I loved it!! I need book two like yesterday! A small town girl moves for college. There she meets the delicious Vinny; also a business major. Both of them are set to take over their family restaurants, only Vinny's situation is slightly more complicated and comes with a side of ex-girlfriend. Usually a story that involves an interfering ex, family drama and the need to keep a relationship on the low-down frustrates me, Down to business was a dramatic read; slightly frustrating and a little sexy. Viv was a real piece of work, and Vinny's need to always placate her (lead her on almost), had me banging my head repeatedly; I loved it! Normally I'd feel sorry for Auti, but she had a quiet strength and I knew she'd be just fine... Although that cliffy had me cursing! Hence the reason I need the next instalment. Great, entertaining read. The relationship between Autumn and Vinny was so up and down I almost had whiplash, but like I said, I was in the mood for this type of read, and 'Down to business' delivered. 4'SND's' stars - grandma's a freaking hoot!!

Down to Business is a must read. I honestly couldn't put this book down. I kept telling myself only one more chapter and I would take a break, but the clock just kept ticking away. This story starts off with Autumn Malone finally getting to start college a few years after her classmates. She is a small town girl, stuck helping her family take care of their failing restaurant when she receives a scholarship and gets a chance to start a new life in college with her best friend Lindy. Autumn is truly the girl next store, which I really liked. She was easy to relate to and I really enjoyed her character. Shortly after Autumn's move to college she meets a tall, dark and handsome guy named Vinny that derails her plans. This book really has it all, hot steamy love, drama, a love triangle and a vixen. I especially loved the scenes with Uncle Tommy and Grandma. They provided this story with a lot of comic relief and had me laughing out loud. I can't wait for the next book!

I liked this book but wish the second was out already - I hate cliffhangers - the not knowing, the waiting! What an ending! I liked the writing and the story kept me reading, however, the relationships in the book were a little off for me. Vinny and Autumn were half/half. At times it was Vinny who frustrated me with his indecisiveness (Vivian and Autumn) and then Autumn who claimed she was not insecure and would not go through Vinny's phone then did! Lindy, Autumn's best friend (supposedly) and room mate was annoying and I just didn't get the sense they were "best friends" more just room mates. When you think things are finally coming together for Vinny and Autumn, Vivian comes along again! Needless to say, I will be reading the next instalment to see where things go from here.

Down to Business By: J.C. Alexander **Copy given by author for an honest review** I am speechless!! AMAZING!! I don’t even know where to start. I love Autumn and Vinny!!! They are so cute. I just wish Vivian was not a problem for them. Vinny should have told her to go somewhere a long time ago. Honestly as a woman I don’t know Autumn put with it. I usually love the best friend; however, I really didn’t like Lindy in the beginning. It wasn’t until after she broke up with her cheating boyfriend that Down to Business By: J.C. I have to say, though, that all the characters were perfect, I might have liked them, but they were perfect for the story. This truly was an amazing book, but HOLY CLIFFHANGER!!!! Just a fair warning, I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. I absolutely CAN NOT wait for the next book to see what happens. I WILL have to have it the day it is released.

Ok, so I've just finished this book it and it only took me 3 hours to read because even though I was just going to read a few chapters next thing I knew it was going to be continued and I I'm pulling my hair out oh my god I hate cliffhangers! So firstly I hated Tyler and even though Lindy was autumns best friend there were times when I didn't like her much and thought she was a bit of a rubbish friend. But jeez I hated Vivian, I wanted to kick her arse more than once and claw her eyes out. All in all I enjoyed the book and I'm looking forward to see what happens with autumn and vinny in book 2 :)

Ok this book was different from what I excpected The whole girl leaves small town to better herself was so sweet autumn is bless a sweet girl with a heart of gold with a best friend who she can't wait to move in with . But this is deeper and a lot more emotional than you think If you have a problem with boys and trust college could seem a big problem Drinking and lots of male hormones all over the place . Lucky there a lot to this story than male flesh and raging hormones This book isn't all buisness Ok this book was different from what I excpected The whole girl leaves small town to better herself was so sweet autumn is bless a sweet girl with a heart of gold with a best friend who she can't wait to move in with . ***3.5 Back and Forth, Back and Forth Stars*** This book had me fuming at times. The back and forth game that Auti/Autumn and Vinny played was crazy. To me it seems as if Vinny was playing both Viv and Auti half the time. Now Lindy and Tyler are another issue. The relationships that are going on in this book is like being a yo-yo (up & down, up & down). I did enjoy the story itself just not so much the character's. I have to say that I LOVED Grandma. She was bat shit crazy and I loved her!! ***3.5 Back and Forth, Back and Forth Stars*** This book had me fuming at times. The back and forth game that Auti/Autumn and Vinny played was crazy. Fun, quick read. This book had loads of drama, sexy (but not overly-detailed) scenes, some laugh-out-loud moments, all held together by a lovely, fast-paced story. I gave it four stars ONLY because there were inconsistencies in the story (their class schedule, for instance), and more than just a handful of punctuation, grammar, and spelling errors. The ending caught me off guard. My mouth literally dropped, and it took me a bit to recover from the shock. I look forward to the next installment.

OMG, what a cliffhanger. That's all I'm going to say about that. This book was well written with great characters and plot. The only time I put this book down was to have a few daydreams of things I'd want to do with Vinny!! He is the perfect bad boy but also has a sweet and caring side. I totally HATE Vivian. I really did enjoy this book, there were times was LOL, my husband would just roll his eyes... Loved Lindy, she needs her own book. I'm soooo looking forward for the next book to come out. Shelving till next one comes out! I'm about half way done with this one and it's a hard one to put down so props to the author for that but being the curious mind that I am, I came checking to see if there's a next book and saw reviews that this book has a major cliffhanger so I went and read the author's post about the second one and good thing it's not a long wait hopefully because she said Summer (July/August) *fingers crossed that there's no prolonged delay beyond that* I don't like cliffhang Shelving till next one comes out! Down to Business was incredible! I loved every minute of it. Autumn is a great main character that reader's can easily get attached too. She's funny and says what's on her mind, but the author didn't get carried away with Autumn's personal thoughts like in some other books I've read. *cough, cough Fifty Shades* There were always twists in the plot that had me on the edge of my seat and I'm more than excited for the second novel to come out! So many things to love and love-to-hate in this one. Perfectly hated Vivian, but wasn't a fan of Tyler or Vinnie either...or Lindy honestly. Loved Grandma and Autumn. Very much a cat fight worthy story. Horrible advice, lying boyfriend, bitchy people...just awesome! Very long, but a good read and worth the time. You will want to scream at the ending, so join me as you may still be able to hear me. Waiting patiently for book 2. ARC provided in exchange for honest review. I received a copy of this book for an honest review First ugh let me tell you it has a cliffhanger..... The story is about autumn who is starting of college late due to helping out at the family restaurant. Her plan is to get a business degree to help her mom. She didn't plan on meeting any guys due to her past experience. But one she meets vinny that changes. There is a lot of drama in this book but it's written well.
