This is not the original Grimm (grim?) story - not by a long chalk. There are no three attempts to kill Snow White: Snow White does not die because of the poisoned apple lodged in her throat, but she falls unconscious from which she can be awakened only by the kiss of true love: and - of course - no horrible end for the queen. But this story was arguably the darkest I read in my tender years, and it made me a little uneasy. Maybe I saw the monster behind the visage...

Summary: Jealous of Snow White's beauty, the wicked queen orders the murder of her innocent stepdaughter, but later discovers that Snow White is still alive and hiding in a cottage with seven friendly little miners. Disguising herself as a hag, the queen brings a poisoned apple to Snow White, who falls into a death-like sleep that can be broken only by a kiss from the prince. Final review: The graphic novel treated the story frivolously in my opinion, although the artwork was nice, the writing was not.

Much like all of their other works, Brothers Grimm retell the story of the beloved beautiful Princess with hair as black as ebony, lips red as a rose and skin as white as snow, Snow White. However, their take makes this book incredibly intriguing. Through their use of realistic, faintly painted pictures, the reader doesn’t get the whole “Disney” feel to it. Furthermore, this version of the classic Snow White does not go as in-depth as this version. Furthermore, this version of the classic Snow White does not go as in-depth as this version. In Brothers Grimm, they go further in to the story. I guess you could say that they are the realist of the fairy-tale realm. Because this is different than the original, it could detour children but also attract them. All of the Brothers Grimm works should definitely have a place on the bookshelf
