I am thoroughly enjoying the story. You can't help but like all of the characters and get absorbed in their emotions and heartaches while they are looking for a place to be and the answers to all their questions. With people hot on their tails, chasing them down, the second book in the series has ended leaving me once again wanting to continue the story and waiting for the next book. 4stars!! Children of the After: Revelation begins directly after the events of book one end. There is no gap, book 2 starts with Jack,Sam, and Will being chased by the monkey creatures. The reader gets a lot of questions answered during Revelation but new questions arise. We meet some new characters and learn some shocking information. I enjoyed reading the second book and will continue reading book 3.

Book 2 The books up with the kids leaving their grandparents house and walking to find other survivors. They are pursued by the “monkey” aliens. A lone girl helps them escape and the 4 of them continue walking when the coast is clear. They meet up with a resistance group, but all is not what it seems.

Loved it! Loved the first book. This one was good, too. There were many twists and turns. Can't wait to see how it turns out in the next book. Loved it! Loved the first book. This one was good, too. There were many twists and turns. Can't wait to see how it turns out in the next book.

Despite being a teen read I actually enjoyed this more than the first book and I whisked through this read in under 3 hours thoroughly enjoying the unexpected twists and turns although like other reviewers I wish it were longer. The story has really grown on me and is so intriguing. Its been written with such a realistic child's point of view which will really appeal to the kids out there. I would say its definitely a teen read but some adults may still enjoy it like me as Jeremy has created a good balance between teen and adult reads. I'm loving the realistic character development of the three kids; especially Will who is having to grow up fast. The author is clearly a parent as his nailed the different reactions from the kids and how they deal with things slightly differently according to age. Tammy is a fab new character and not only is she great for girl power; the author is making a valid point that just because someone is different it doesn't mean they are bad...showing humans can be cruel with things they don't understand....high five Mr Laszlo. What makes this read slightly different from other alien reads is the fact they are dealing with a variety of aliens not just the one; plus you don't know if its an alien standing next to you..... The gore and horror is toned down quite a bit as a teen read; but the excellent storyline makes up for this. I hope Mr Laszlo will turn to more adult novels as I personally prefer more horror and gore but I love his writing style. I did however chose to download these books already knowing it was YA. Overall another compelling, engaging read and I cant wait for book 3.

I started out sort of liking this book. I received this one as a freebie on Amazon. It's a pretty slow, not much action. I didn't think the setup was interesting, but the author could've cut the work by half and had a tighter story. The story is part of a series, but those three books are really just one. There is no attempt in the first two to provide any kind of partial resolution. Neither book stands up on its own at all. Did not love the ending. I wanted to give this book 4 stars because I find it pretty juvenile. But really that's what's it's supposed to be. For what genre the author is writing he has nailed it and this book gets 5 stars! an adult and I am loving this story. I'm all wrapped up in this story. The characters have pulled me in. I need to know the outcome. And the author is setting a very descriptive scene. I think these books would make an awesome movie or tv series. Another great story by Jeremy Laszlo, this one introducing some other worldly characters into the mix. The kids leave Chicago and head out to find their Grandma's house, because when Mom and Dad are missing, that's what you do! Lots of new adventures along the way. Great story, and Stephen Spielberg should give this series a read, since Will is a worthy successor to Elliot from E.T.! This second in the series gives a clear picture of what is happening and even has a few surprises. The one thing that stuck out for me was when the brothers and sister did not abandon their new friend when shocked by facts presented to them.

Reading this series back to back. When I saw the synopsis of these, I thought they might keep me involved and they have been. I needed something to keep me busy this weekend and this series is doing the job!

The story gets going! Kind of fun to get glimpses of what all went down! A slight peak into what the aliens might be. You cheer for the kids to win!! Bite your nail when they make wrong decisions! Well written, it drags you into the story!!

The author toned down the graphic stuff for the YA novel, so I'd recommend it to any person who reads sci/fi. The author toned down the graphic stuff for the YA novel, so I'd recommend it to any person who reads sci/fi.

Continuing the apocalypse. These kids are gritty and don't give up. They are excited to find another survivor, Tammy, and together they head for St. Louis. Continuing the apocalypse.
