I enjoyed this short story. The writing itself was good, it kept me gripped for the duration. The story was fun, full of gore and it was quite tense at certain points. I have given this three stars rather than four, because I feel short stories are a different breed to novellas/ full length stories etc. I think this would be made better as a full length novel. I don't want to ruin anything by telling the end, but I just think as a stand alone it fell a bit short at the final hurdle. Still. I enjoyed I enjoyed this short story. This was my first foray into Shaun Hupp's writing. It was a pretty short piece of work which I read in one sitting, between books, but the story and the delivery managed to make it something which stayed with me for a lot longer than most short stories. Although the style of writing is very much pulp fiction, the story being pretty predictable and unrealistic - this is not always a bad thing. It's escapism, after all!- the character development is so good that I was searching around for a sequel. This was my first foray into Shaun Hupp's writing. My only gripe with this story is that he could have pushed it further. The opening scene reminded me of the movie at the beginning of the SAW series, but then fell a bit flat. Amp it up a bit, Hupp, and this is a 5* story!

A fascinating read for all horror fans! This is a really creepy story packed with graphic depictions of violence as well as emotional distress. The main characters are artistically condensed into a short horror story. The book starts with a very disturbing scene and is followed by a sequel of frightening twists. As the gruesome story unfolds, we are getting to know the main characters and learn about their darker side. So are they.

No end I didn't realize that this book was a continuing novel. Just as I was really getting into the story - it ended. Damn made me mad. It's a good story though. It was a bit gruesome but not too bad. Now I have to wait for the second book. No end I didn't realize that this book was a continuing novel. Just as I was really getting into the story - it ended. Psychotic Wow does anyone have a better sense of humor than a psycho? This story has it all; drama, suspense, definitely horror and yes even comedy! Good read This was a good little story. Would be interested in any other stories about these characters. This has potential to be a great series. I would be interested in reading more about the detective and what else he learns about Adam.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. A short read but I had issues with it. The killer doesn't like blood? The killer just lets her leave and decides to have a shower rather than capture her? He then turns up months later in a deformed form and she just lets him kill her? No way, I don't accept any of this. Disappointing. A short read but I had issues with it. The killer doesn't like blood? I found this one on my kindle while searching for something with horror. Who doesn't love a story that will make you cringe and can be read in one sitting? The most disappointing thing about this novelette is, it abruptly ends in a cliffhanger. I found this one on my kindle while searching for something with horror.
