A few months after publishing this book, I felt myself reaching that state of pajama-wearing, never-showering despair that I reach every February. At that point, several of my friends told me I should go read my own book. Maybe they were joking, but I did it anyway. I'm glad I did! There were definitely a few points that encouraged me, especially my reminder, "This is a marathon, not a sprint." I went back to my bare minimums, and looked at all the plans I'd laid out for the rest of the year, an A few months after publishing this book, I felt myself reaching that state of pajama-wearing, never-showering despair that I reach every February. There were definitely a few points that encouraged me, especially my reminder, "This is a marathon, not a sprint." I went back to my bare minimums, and looked at all the plans I'd laid out for the rest of the year, and it didn't seem quite so overwhelming at that point. I'm not an objective outsider, but I'm still I glad I have this book around, even if I wrote it myself. I recommend it for everyone! :) I am the author, and I approve this message.

**The author gave me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Blueprint Homeschooling is a great book on homeschooling. While it's about planning, it's also about so much more than that. By following the process outlined in the book, you will learn a lot about your values, your reasons for homeschooling, what you want to teach your kids, and how to get it all done. Blueprint Homeschooling is a great book on homeschooling. While it's about planning, it's also about so much more than that. By following the process outlined in the book, you will learn a lot about your values, your reasons for homeschooling, what you want to teach your kids, and how to get it all done. With the help of this book, you'll be able to plan out an entire school year's worth of homeschooling - and it doesn't matter how you homeschool. Whatever method you use, however you schedule your days, this process can work for you. Amy Knepper writes with a very conversational, friendly tone that makes you feel more like you're chatting with a good friend instead of reading a book. She gives you little bits of insight into her own homeschooling life, and points out how the things she suggests can be adapted to work with whatever you might do, even if it's different than what she does. She covers things that I never think of until it's too late - gathering books, purchasing project supplies and materials, and allowing for activities that you do on a regular basis (such as park days, musical instrument lessons or sports practice) and having these prepped before you need them is an obvious "duh!" kind of tip, yet it was one that I needed. I often find myself running to the store to purchase an item we need for a project on the day of the project. If I follow Blueprint Homeschooling, I will not only know all the things I need before the school year even starts, but I will be able to make notes at various points throughout the year to ensure that if I still need to get something, I can get it well in advance of when we need it. No more running out to get something at the last minute! If you're new to homeschooling, Blueprint Homeschooling would be a great resource to help you get rolling. And if you've been doing it for a while and are feeling burnt out, it might help you find your balance again. Definitely worth the read!

I have read so many “homeschooling how-to” guides and so many leave me wanting more. They may be inspiring or beautifully written but I always feel like something very critical is missing. Namely: how do you actually DO homeschooling? Like, the day-to-day grind of managing an overwhelming list of tasks, goals and expectations, all while educating tiny humans and managing a household. And, importantly, staying sane. This book actually delivers in its premise: a straightforward, articulate, precise I have read so many “homeschooling how-to” guides and so many leave me wanting more. This book actually delivers in its premise: a straightforward, articulate, precise and honest guide for creating a system that might just actually keep you organized and sane. This book is detailed snd exhaustive but it never takes itself too seriously. I am so inspired to move forward with this “blueprint” that I am actually planning to purchase this book as opposed to just borrowing it from the library - high praise indeed, since I’m too typically cheap to buy anything I could get for free :-) If I could give one critique/suggestion, it would be to include photos or even diagrams of her suggestions, as it would be so helpful to see this plan in action. Hopefully there will be an updated version someday that includes photos!

I won a copy of this book. This book is really thorough in terms of setting up a home school. If you or someone you know is starting to this about it, I'd really recommend picking up this book. Knepper has a really nicely organization style to help you choose what kind of home school you would like have. She's realistic about how your ideas may differ from how your child learns and give plenty of tips and suggestions on how to make that work. I won a copy of this book. If you could only read one homeschooling book, this would be the one! Wonderful for anyone at any stage of homeschooling, excellent for those starting out. Worth its weight in gold.

Required Homeschool Reading After a year of having school go off the rails more times than I could count, this book is helping me reassess and figure out where we need to go and how we need to get there. I feel like I can successfully organize myself without falling completely apart. Wonderful resource that I know I will come back to every year.

Really helpful book -- just what I needed to read in preparation for another year of homeschooling. This definitely appealed to my love of list-making, and after doing the exercises in the book, I now have the upcoming school year planned with more detail than I have ever managed before. I feel calm and excited about the year ahead. Highly recommended for homeschooling parents!

I did a quick read through. I can't wait to go back and apply all the steps. I did a quick read through. I can't wait to go back and apply all the steps.

Excellent and thought-provoking. Not a primer for homeschooling, rather a theoretical and philosophical starting point...great for narrowing a personal focus and growing purpose outward.
