I have been in scouting for about 100years and this is the first cookbook I have read that is 'do-able'for scout camping. I have been in scouting for about 100years and this is the first cookbook I have read that is 'do-able'for scout camping.

Very well organized and good cookbook. Each recipe has an icon at the top showing what type of cooking the recipe is for (cast iron dutch oven, open fire, no cooking, backpacking, and so on). It was great that there were recipes for all different outdoor situations, but the book skews more to dutch oven and cast iron pan cooking. I found some really good no cook and back packing recipes that I will be using in a few weeks. Very well done with great explanations and further information in the int Very well organized and good cookbook. Perfect for car camping with groups both small and large. I've tried many of the recipes with great success and just ordered a dutch oven so that I can experiment with even more of Christine and Tim's treats. What I find neat about this book is that the recipes are not only those of the authors but also of contributors - all of whom have had involvement in scouting or similar organizations. No pictures. Tons of easy recipes. More of a car camping book. A few good instructions in beginning and end, but not a great dutch oven learning book.
