Read a digital scan, but only the first three comics. I feel like "released from insane asylum ... now working on new type of death ray" should have been more of a red flag to the local authorities. And I think they're taking the term "Napoleon complex" rather too literally. "Spy" by Jerry Siegel and Mart Bailey is rather foolish (how can the dictatorship in Luxor not rig an election?). "Buck Marshall: Range Detective" - Good ol' fashion corporate due diligence. Read a digital scan, but only the first three comics. This adventure was alright, but what made it worthwhile was the first introduction of how Bruce Wayne becomes Batman. This comic is the first to show the murder of Thomas and Martha (unnamed) Wayne and the evolution of Batman!

We know another villain, Dr. Kruger, who wants the humanitynto obey him and became a dictator. Batman defeat them and saves the day!

"The Batman Wars Against the Dirigible of Doom" Wow, I really enjoyed this issue, even the ridiculous theme of the villain, we get a brief origin of Batman, and we also see a pretty devastating attack on the city with several tall buildings getting demolished. Batman's suit is also looking a little closer to what it would as a final draft. This is my favorite story of 1939 so far. Batman and the Dirigible Death Ray It's worth it for the wonderfully corny alliteration if nothing else! Batman and the Dirigible Death Ray It's worth it for the wonderfully corny alliteration if nothing else!
