As two queens plot each other's destruction, a small band of adventurers continues its quest for the knowledge needed to defeat the mad King Brutus and his unearthly parasite, the Black Queen. Their search brings Morigan and the Wolf to the perilous forests of Alabion, where they and their companions will face the darkness of their pasts-and discover equally dark destinies As two queens plot each other's destruction, a small band of adventurers continues its quest for the knowledge needed to defeat the mad King Brutus and his unearthly parasite, the Black Queen. Their search brings Morigan and the Wolf to the perilous forests of Alabion, where they and their companions will face the darkness of their pasts-and discover equally dark destinies. Meanwhile, far from Alabion, the queens of the East and West continue their deadly dance. One seeks a relic of great power, while the other puts her faith in a mix of military and technomagikal force. Both are aware they have a slim window of opportunity to settle their power struggle-after all, Mad Brutus's recent defeat is at best a setback. The mad king is already amassing a new army of soulless husks in the wastelands of Mor'Khul. Unknown to the great powers struggling for control, a father and son wander those same wastelands, scavenging what they can as they weather Brutus's gathering storm. They too have a role to play in Geadhain's fate-a role which may just provide a last remnant of hope.

Feast of Dreams is a historical fantasy book. It is the second book of its series. Brutus has gone mad and has to be stopped. The tale continues with Morigan and the Wolf in the Alabion forest. They pursue trying to save all that is good while the queens of the East and West continue to fight for power. This fantasy novel is nothing short of excellence. There are so many interesting characters in this story; each have their own personality, journey, and storyline. The author actually has provided one of his best works yet and has potential to be one of the best out there. I believe what makes this book stand out is the way the author writes and tells the story. I have reviewed many books in my time and have to admit that this was one of the best I have read in a while. The world setting, characters, plot, and every scene is very well thought out, and attention to detail has been given to provide the reader a delightful experience. I highly recommend this book and its series for anyone that is looking for strong literature.

Feast of Dreams by Christian A Brown did not disappoint. It went beyond every expectation, dream, hope, and nightmare I could have had. Brown remains an expert at weaving hope and destruction simultaneously with each character, each story, while propelling the overarching plot. There hasn’t been a series in a very long time that has managed to keep me solidly in its grip, paralyzed with emotion. One of the greatest strengths in making Feast of Dreams so enjoyable is the pacing. The fact that there isn’t a single chapter, a single point-of-view, that bores. Everything has a purpose, propels the multiple layers of story forward. The push and pull of the story sweeps you away until you stop and realize you’ve reached the end and are desperate for more. With expert pacing, we get fantastic characters. They don’t feel like plot points or placeholders. Every character seems to have a purpose, whether we know it or not, which makes this book so different from the multitude of other fantasy novels. Whether it’s stated or not, you get the feeling that Brown has each character, no matter how minimal, completely fleshed out with a full backstory that we might never actually get to see. With such real characters, we get to experience the joys and heartbreaks that accompany real people. The shades of grey everyone is composed of. Good intentions turn to ash and though you want to fault them, be angry with them, you can’t because you understand their motivations. You understand the situation they were placed in and the limited choices available. Nowhere is this more evident than with poor Queen Lila. The way Brown nudges her character forward, ever so slowly, so subtly, that her downfall comes as the only logical option for her, no matter how sad the outcome. Indeed, with most of the characters, Brown is subtle at leading you down a path that the final destination shocks you, but only because you were foolish enough to miss the signs leading there. Amazing characters that are so intricately well-defined that they feel real, individual plots that not only further character progression, but also move forward the gargantuan main plot, Feast of Dreams by Christian A Brown is a dark fantasy masterpiece. Never does it lag, nor does anything ever feel thrown in simply to move the story along or get words on a page. Truly, the new pinnacle of the fantasy genre. Cannot wait to start the third in the series, Feast of Chaos.

There are also several powerful people trying to rule everything and keep power out of the mad king’s hands. But even though they are trying their hardest, like Queen Lila, you can tell this is a train wreck about to happen but you can’t look away from it. There is just so much happening in this story. But I had no problem keeping everyone separated. I love the twists and turns in this story. Just when you think something is going to work out, bam, left turn and it goes horribly wrong. I love how Morigan’s group keeps fighting even when things seem hopeless. I love this series. I had a hard time putting this book down but I did have to try and get some sleep. Now I can’t wait to see what is in story for Feast of Chaos. I received Feast of Dreams from Author Marketing Experts for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.

The characters pursue their own missions to stop the mad Sun King Brutus. All these missions are woven together so skillfully you never lose track of any them, and you can feel how high the stakes are because the characters are so vivid. So are the descriptions. I got totally pulled into the wilds of Alabion, the mines below Menos, and the rest of Geadhain. This book fleshes out the main characters, Morigan and the Wolf, by revealing their pasts, events they weren't even aware of themselves! It's fascinating stuff, and satisfying to read. Thanks to all these revelations, it almost seems inadequate to call their relationship a romance. It's more like a partnership. Their love has matured and runs so, so deep. Another thing I enjoyed was the introduction to the whole cosmology of this fantasy world. I loved the "Dreamers," characters not unlike the capricious gods of Greek mythology. They might be saviors one moment and a terrible curse the next. I look forward to seeing what they get up to in the next book!

The followers of King Magnus are led by his love Queen Lila in his absence. Brown weaves a startling history for each character. The story will captivate and leave you worried for your favorite characters. I cannot await to read the Feat of Chaos.

Feast of Dreams continues where Feast of Fates left off. the stakes involved have increased in this second volume as new players are introduced and familiar ones are encountered once more. the plot has thickened as well and there were more twists and revelations that i never saw coming. new alliances are forged as old ones are broken off. secrets are brought to light and mysteries that i thought were resolved beget more wonders. it may appear to the reader that a large part of the novel is steeped in darkness and uncertainty over an impending war. yet within this dim and grim scenario are seen glimmers of light and hope as our major protagonists display awe-inspiring fortitude, patience, and determination. even at the hands of their adversaries or with death staring them in the face, these men and women would always forge ahead. later, i realized two themes that were central to the whole novel and the reason why our heroes never gave up despite the whimsical forces swirling around them - love and family. these themes were there all the time and i failed to recognize their worth and their power until the very last chapters. even the villains were not exempt from their potency. Christian A. Brown has woven a worthy literary sequel. the writing is as constant and flawless as ever. i continue to be mesmerized and impressed by his unique style of blending prose and poetry and by his fertile imagination. savoring this second feast only made me whet my appetite for more and i look forward to the next books in the Four Feasts Till Darkness series! *received a copy for review

A search that leads them to the forests of Alabion. It's there that she and her companions are confronted with the darkness of their pasts and the present that surrounds them. Refusing to bend to the darkness's will, they continue on, never once imagining the chaos that's surely headed their way. Taking up where the first book left off, we see Morigan and her friends traversing the forest. Though things are difficult, at times, their resilience and determination pays off. The world Christian has created around these characters continues to grow. It's darker and more oppressive. Adversity follows them at every turn. The group's thirst for knowledge, however, spurs them on. They cannot let things remain as they are. Not when there are two queens vowing to destroy the other, as well as a mad king who is determined in taking what he deems rightfully his. Though book is a little darker than the first, it shows us just how much things have changed for Morigan and the others. They have to deal with so many situations that makes them question who they are and what they truly stand for. Theirs is a desolate world, one they must survive in by any means necessary. It was wonderful seeing just how much Morigan, Caenith, and the others were determined in seeing things through. Despite the odds, they continued on, forging a path that continues to change them in every way possible. Yes, bonds are tested, but at the end of the day, the love they have for each other continues to grow. We get to see this with every turn of the page. Will they achieve the goals they've set for themselves in being able to take down the forces of darkness? It's hard to say, but I know they won't stop until they achieve their every goal.
