My two main issues with His Fantasy Bride were the length, in that at under 150 pages long there was very little chance for much development on anything. And the fact that the bulk of the story is based around dishonesty and the person telling the lie not having the courage to own up to the fact. She couldn’t have him. And she certainly didn’t deserve him. I think I could have dealt with the shorter length of the book if the lying had been dealt with early on, and they then spent the remainder rebuilding their trust and a relationship around that, but one thing that is guaranteed to wind me up is when someone makes lame excuses rather than owning up to their deceit. I already had a soft spot for Vito before going into this book, and he was still pretty likeable throughout the telling of the story, Nina has mad-skillz when it comes to writing heroes of the Mediterranean persuasion and Mr. D’Ascensio didn’t disappoint in that respect. We are now three weeks on from the ship sinking and the decision he made to reconnect with Gabrielle Harper, and discover why she ran out on the eve of their wedding, Vito is in London looking for answers. "When it seemed I might die, you were the one thing I thought about." Gabby was a pretty confident woman in most areas, and I think this is why I struggled with the lying so much, she owned her confidence and sass, yet when it came to standing up and owning the fact that everything about their initial getting together was totally false, she just kept dragging her heels until she is basically forced to come clean. He was her prince, even if she had been the wicked witch in disguise rather than the princess. It’s a shame the series ended on a bit of downer, the writing was the authors usual stellar standard, the tropes just didn’t do it for me on this occasion. You are however introduced to Luca and Theresa Scarlesi, in that they are part of Gabby’s extended family, I hope at some point Nina has the opportunity to tell their stories as this brother and sister left me more than a little intrigued. 3 stars His Fantasy Bride was an OK read. While the storyline was well written and it held my interest from start to end, I found myself struggling to connect with Gabby. Fast forward six months and imagine Vito’s surprise when he tracked her down and found a completely different woman. This book was very steamy with so much chemistry between Vito and Gabby. I was rooting for them from page one. Vito was so confused over the abrupt change in his fiancee and Gabby was riddled with guilt over her deception with him. Despite all of the unanswered questions and lies, these two could not stay away from one another. I really enjoyed Vito and Gabby’s story back to one another. I kept wishing Gabby would just tell Vito her secret so they could move past it but I understood her fear that he would hate her when he found out. Despite Gabby being nothing like the woman she pretended to be, she ended up being perfect for Vito.

Nina Croft is an author I've read multiple times, she always brings great characters and a British feel and her stories are always easy to get along with. But I have to say the final book in her Things To Do Before You Die series ended things with a bit more of a fizzle than a bang and wasn't quite to the standard I have come to expect from her. But I have to say the final book in her Things To Do Before You Die series ended things with a bit more of a fizzle than a bang and wasn't quite to the standard I have come to expect from her. "He might be the best looking man she had ever kissed, and he might have the biggest cock she had ever encountered, and he might know exactly what to do with it…" His Fantasy Bride brings us Vito's story and, following his lucky escape from the sinking ship he decides to find the woman he loves, Gabrielle, who also happened to flee on the eve of their wedding, leaving him nothing but a two-line note. Together Vito and Gabby generated some heat between the sheets, and Vito is nothing but completely honest about his feelings, but I never formed that much of a connection with them, likely due to its fairly short page-count. The pacing just felt off to me, with time-jumps inserted to speed things along that took building parts of the story away. "I want to sleep with you watching over me like my own personal guardian angel." Although it was by no means a difficult read, it was predictable and in comparison to Logan and Josh's stories, felt rushed and with attention to detail lacking: for example 3 weeks after a burning electric cable hits your face you'd not have a healed scar. But the guys generated some fabulous drunken humour that had me chuckling away and the last third of the book upped the anti and was when these characters endeared themselves more: I just needed more that bit sooner. Nina Croft is an author who can write and write well, so there's absolutely no question of reading her books in the future--I'm interested to see if the Scarlesi siblings, Luca and Theresa will get their stories--but of the vast number of her books I've read, this falls into liked as opposed to loved category. Both Gabby and Vito kept saying that things were different now, but they seemed to have no issues relating to one another, even though the author kept trying to convince the reader that they were so very different. The characters seemed unbalanced, and this messed up the story and the romance for me, as well as the pacing and the authenticity. I am not really able to recommend this book. ***This and other reviews also featured on http://www.imasweetandsassybookwhore.com***

This woman, Gabby, is bold, vibrant, and sexually charged. Gabrielle had been none of those things. Now he's determined to find out which is the real woman and what had lead her to seek him out in the first place. No more secrets. No more pretend. This book is very well written and these characters are wonderful. Definitely a book I recommend.

It took a sinking ship for three friends to reevaluate their lives and their questionably decision making and in Vito D’Ascensio’s case, it was simply to go after a woman - who’d left him - to prove his love. Unbeknownst to him, Gabrielle Harper had merely been playing a part in an elaborate ruse to get close to Vito to solve several family problems of her own. Unfortunately, ‘His fantasy bride’ is yet another case of a pairing that I didn’t like at all mainly because of the female protagonist who demonstrated every trait I despise in a romantic heroine: lying, yet playing the victim, cowardly to the very end but self-aware enough to know better yet not do anything differently. It was difficult to accept how this particular ‘relationship’ was built on Vito’s earnest wooing and Gabby’s unconscionable conduct: the constant monologue of hers that ran along the lines of not deserving him simply got tired and hypocritical when she never seemed to go anything about it anyway. Her selfish, unthinking behaviour - somehow it’d never occurred to her that a man as Vito would have taken her actions as a betrayal of the highest order - was beyond galling, enough to make me skim through the book. I thought Vito truly deserved way better than a poorly conceived character like her and I found myself consistently wishing that he’d in fact moved past her after her first deception. Which probably means, I'd completely lost it by then. I've had better read, sad to say; if not for the hero whom I actually liked, I think I would have simply not finished the book at all. *ARC by netgalley (couldn't be more blunt, but still grateful)

My Review: I've really enjoyed this series. While this one wasn't my favorite in the series, I did still really enjoy it. The main issue is that the bulk of the romance between the two characters happened before the book ever happened....and it was all built on a lie. The premise for the entire series is what's so fabulous about all these books. Three weeks before this book happens, Vito is in a life or death situation with two other men. When they don't know if they're going to make it, they make a vow...all three of them are going after the women that they lost. For Vito, it's the woman who left him the night before their wedding. BUT she had very good reasons for doing that...like the fact that she'd lied to him about everything. While I wish Gabby had come clean a little earlier in the book, I enjoyed the build up for when everything would be revealed. I also really enjoyed the dance aspect of Gabby's character. This isn't a long read, but I liked the length of it, especially right now when time is so short. While that made it so that the story couldn't be developed quite as well, I liked that I could read the story in just a couple of hours, and for that time commitment, I found it very fulfilling. I'd definitely recommend this one and the other two books in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Gabby fled Vito's arms on the eve of their wedding six months ago, but she can't forget the sultry hottie who is supposed to be her arch-enemy. On the eve of the six-month anniversary, Vito reappears in her life, determined to get answers, and to win back "his fantasy bride." What he discovers blows him away. Gabrielle is now Gabby and not entirely like he remembers her. With lies and deception still driving a wedge between them, can he tell who is the real Gabby and more importantly if she is the woman for him. Vito was a great leading man and I thought he was very understanding, all things considered. I felt for Gabby even if her cowardice irritated me. She made a mistake, but she didn't actually betray him other than keeping the real reason for their meeting a secret for so long. She should have grown a pair and told him the truth. But, if she had we wouldn't have had any story. The writing was great, the sex scenes were tastefully structured, and characterization was decent. Overall, this was a great, quick read and one I recommend. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy of this book, via Netgalley, in exchange for my honest review.

When Gabby finally lets her secret out and admits what she did, will Vito still love Gabby or will he walk away forever? The secret that Gabby held wasn’t bad and there was a good reason. Vito did have a right to be angry but there are so many twists and turns going on. It could have been a stronger storyline but the story didn’t have a strong flow like the authors other stories. The ending was sweet and I was happy to see this. Gabby and Vito have a love story that is dramatic, complicated and all encompassing. I received an ARC of His Fantasy Bride by Nina Croft in exchange for an honest review. He's having a problem reconciling that Gabrielle and Gabby are the same woman. Which version is the real thing?? This book was a very sexy, steamy read! The chemistry was zinging along! I really wanted them to find common ground.  Gabby felt so much guilt over starting their relationship on a lie. I felt she got so tangled up that she had to cut and run just to breathe.  I'm glad Vito came to find her and wanted to get the answers he deserved. He seemed like such a down to earth guy. They ultimately could not stay away from each other-even when things were not remotely resolved. I wished Gabby would just fess up, but I also understood her fear and thought of not ever being worthy of him. You knew Vito was going to be crushed when the truth finally is revealed. I was glad Gabby stepped up and took control of her actions. All in all, a fun story to loose yourself in! 4 Stars/4 Flames This book was gifted to me by the Jeep Diva for an honest review.  The review and ratings are solely my opinions.

Gabby ran out on her fiance the day of their wedding, thinking he didn't really know who she was. And he didn't...he knew Gabrielle, different from Gabby. But Vito wants her back and Gabby wants to show him who she really is so he'll leave her alone. Vito is surprised but finds that he likes both women. Interesting read but Gabby was hard to understand...she was flighty and all over the place, and as awesome of an author that Nina is, Gabby wasn't explained well enough for readers to connect to. I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This took me awhile to get into but I did finally give this book its shot. The story was actually pretty good and I loved the romance that bloomed from two people that really didn’t know each other well. All in all a pretty good read.

I gave it a three because I liked Vito. I didn’t really care for Gabby. The other two heroines in the two previous books were a better. It was the heroes that made these stories great.

Two sentences, that’s all Gabrielle Harper left Vito D’Ascensio when she vanished the night before their wedding. If he wants his bride back, he’s going to have to hunt her down and prove his love. But when he searches for Gabrielle, he finds Gabby instead; it seems his perfect bride is nothing but a fantasy. After six months, Gabby presumes it’s over, an episode in her life she’s totally ashamed of. But now Vito is back. He’s the one man she can never have, but as desire explodes between them, she has a tough time remembering why they shouldn’t be together. Oh, right, her family hates him, and he’s done terrible things. Or has he? But it doesn’t matter. When he finds out the truth about who she really is…he’ll never want to see her again. •••••••••••••• REVIEW: 3.25 stars--HIS FANTASY BRIDE is the second installment in Nina Croft’s adult, contemporary THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE erotic, romance series focusing on three friends -Vito, Josh and Logan. Six weeks earlier, a cruise ship fire left the three friends struggling to survive; each made a commitment to go after the one that got away. This is billionaire businessman, and professor of archaeology Vito (Vittorio) D’Ascensio, and dancer Gabrielle Harper’s story line. HIS FANTASY BRIDE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Some of the events run parallel to the events books 2 and 3. Told from dual third person perspectives (Vito and Gabby) the story line focuses on a lie. Six months earlier Gabrielle disappeared the night before their wedding and Vito has been lost for close to six months-no explanation, no contact with Gabby, and a near death experience that left him scarred finds our hero searching for the woman who broke his heart. Finding Gabrielle, in London, was easy but he had hopes she would have returned to him, and Sicily, on her own. What ensues are Vito’s attempts to get to the truth, and Gabby’s need to keep her distance from the man that she loves by running whenever confrontation is at hand. HIS FANTASY BRIDE follows Gabby as she is riddled with guilt; the lies she perpetuated and continues to tell in the hopes that the truth will never be revealed. Our heroine avoids the truth throughout most of the story making for some frustrating moments. We follow along while Gabby contemplates revealing the true nature of her lies; her internal dialogue is one of constant guilt and shame, yet she is no closer to an apology or the truth. The ‘before’ Gabrielle was all an act; the after ‘Gabby’ is a complete turn around, and both are difficult to accept. In the end we know very little about the couple’s original relationship- how they met, fell in love etc-some background history and more character development would have been nice. We are re-introduced to Vito’s two best friends-Logan McCabe and Josh Slater-both looking to reconnect with women from their pasts. When a cruise ship fire left the three friends struggling to survive, each made a commitment to go after the one that got away. As an aside, I would have liked to have learned more about the friendship, and the fire-the who, what, why and how. Gabby’s roommate Theresa is a woman who pushes Gabby to tell Vito the truth; and Theresa’s brother Luka- a man who vows vengeance using any mean possible including Gabrielle Harper. HIS FANTASY BRIDE is an interesting tale of betrayal and vengeance; lies and deceit; forgiveness and love. A good portion of the story line finds the reader inside the heroine’s head as she waffles between telling the truth or ‘running away’. There are plenty of sexcapades between our leading couple even though Gabby puts a halt to their sexual relationship at one point. When the truth is revealed there may be no going back for our leading couple. Copy supplied by the author. www.thereadingcafe.com

**3.5 Stars** Things are finally going well for Gabby. Her Mom is responding to medical treatment, her brother is out of trouble, for now, and she has a job, a good one. So what if she can't stop thinking about him, the man that she should be celebrating their six month wedding anniversary with...if she hadn't left, Vito. As for Vito, a near death experience three weeks ago brought a lot of things into perspective for himself and his friends, Logan and Josh. He's ready to find out exactly why she left him. He's all she could think about when he thought his life was over and he needs to know why, and how, she could leave him, leave what they would've had together. And if they can have a second chance because he never stopped loving her. She's been the only one for him since he first saw her and that hasn't changed, even though she broke his heart, he's stayed true to her while they were apart. *swoon swoon, right?* How will Vito react after learning Gabby had entered his world on false pretenses? Due to her Dad's marriage to Maria, Gabby became a part of the Scarlesi family, a family with a bad history with Vito's family, and someone thought Gabby would be the perfect instrument to accomplish their revenge. As for Gabby, she wanted to feel as if she belonged with her new family and she needed the money they offered to help her Mom. Can Vito forgive her once he learns why she agreed to the charade and learns that she didn't do as she was asked to and is now avoiding the man behind the revenge plan, Luca, her cousin by marriage? Can these two have a second chance at a real relationship? Can Vito prove that while he loved her as Gabrielle, it doesn't compare to what he feels for Gabby, her true self? Can Gabby believe that he truly loves her, not the image she portrayed to "catch" him? Will they take the time to actually talk this time around and learn things about each other they should've learned the first time? Will Luca now come after both Vito and Gabby because she foiled his plan? Or will he forget the past and live in the present, realizing he was wrong to ask that favor of Gabby and that Vito is a good guy? Will these two finally get their HEA, one based on truth and reality? One-click now to find out all this and more as truths are revealed and love and happiness are achieved. Please keep in mind this is book three in the author's Things To Do Before you Die series. I did read book two without having read the first book prior to it and did not feel at all lost during the story. But I will say that I do recommend reading the books in order to obtain the complete overview of these characters and their histories, including the impetus to the premise of this series. **I received a copy of this book from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**

I'm torn! I loved Vito in the second book, Her Fantasy Husband (book one, His Fantasy Girl is sitting patiently in my TBR...I will get to you Logan, I promise!) and was really anxious for his story. I still liked him a heck of a lot in his book (and LOL, the sleeping-drunk-with-a-chicken-scene, I'd forgotten about it! Too funny!), but I didn't love his book as much as I wanted to. Mostly, it's Gabby. Her slightly schizophrenic I'm not Gabrielle--call me Gabby routine was a bit much. I get I'm torn! Mostly, it's Gabby. Her slightly schizophrenic I'm not Gabrielle--call me Gabby routine was a bit much. I get where she's going with it--yes, she played the part of super-sophisticated "Gabrielle" months ago, and now she's trying to be the "real" her, but at the same time she's getting all dressed up in her roomie's black dress and putting on pearls? Why? Either own your real self, girl, or don't. The constant back and forth was confusing, both for Vito and the reader. I also really wished she'd confessed the truth much earlier, in order to make their moving on with their relationship feel more realistic. Yes, Vito was finally getting to see Gabby, but essentially all of her omissions and dodging around the truth meant she was still playing a role, and it was frustrating all around. I did feel for her because of her reasons for taking Luca's money, but she made it difficult to sustain that sympathy. Maybe if we'd actually gotten to see her mother and/or brother, whom she helped with the cash? That might have made a difference, but as it was they were more of a vague idea than real motivations. Still, I liked Vito a whole lot and the two of them had some nice chemistry going on. It's not my favorite of the series (right now that's Josh's--at least until Logan manages to convince me otherwise) but I'm definitely glad to have read it and that Vito was able to accomplish his "thing to do" in the end. Rating: 3 1/2 stars / B- I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

She can be a good actress acting like a different person someone that he would fall for but in the end she only fooled herself. This is my first read by this author and I have to say I liked her writing style. Her characters were well developed and the chemistry between them was steaming hot. Gabby had her reason of why she needed that money and I totally understood her but he moment that he proposed to her and she said “yes” that is when I had a problem. She knew that that she started that relationship based on lies and when she left him the night before the wedding was even worse. Gabby should have told him the truth should have showed him who she truly was but then again she didn’t even know who she was herself. Now Vito wants answers as to why she walked out on him the night before their wedding. Only that when he sees her again after six months she looks so different she is not the same woman he fell in love for but he was intrigued with this new woman. Then everything changed when they had sex for the first time then again when she said “okay” for them to get to know each other. Gabby knew that when Vito would get to know her he would leave her then he could live his life and she could do the same thing. But things didn’t go the way she wanted and now she needed to tell him the truth but not only that she needed to talked to Luca and let him know that she didn’t know anything. In the end will Vito be able to forgive her for what she did? Will she leave him and continue with her career? His Fantasy Bride was a good read. It was a short sweet read that had me captivated. My heart went out to Vito because he was being lied to and I didn’t fault him for how he reacted. Then there was Gabby I knew she loved Vito but didn’t understand why she just couldn’t follow her heart. I loved the dates that they went on to find out who they truly were and that was I liked about this story. It totally recommend this read! This book had a potential that I don't think was ever fully reached. The plot-line was ok for the most part - but these characters were just too out there. I don't feel as though we ever really got to know them for who they truly were. I think with some scenes detailing their prior relationship (and the events leading up to them) we may have gotten to know and understand these two a bit better. Gabby is a character that I could not like no matter how hard I tried. Yes, she originally did what she did because she was desperate (and apparently didn't think to just be honest with her cousin) - however I find it hard to believe that after the way things were left the first time Vito speaks to her they end up having sex. All throughout the book she knows she is in the wrong - in fact her inner monologues reiterate this fact to us numerous times - and yet she still continues to lead him on. Her rationale of "he'll see the real me and will back off" just didn't cut it for me - especially when it became clear that he was putting in a real effort to "get to know her" after she gave him the story of needing to find her true self. I also found it hard to believe that certain aspect of this story-line happened (I can't go into too much detail without giving away spoilers), but I can say that the reason they were fighting was idiotic - and there is no way one party wouldn't have known what the other was up to (in terms of business). Some aspects of this plot would have been known to others in the business whether it was considered public knowledge or not. I did like some of the "background" scenes (and characters), and despite everything I did enjoy this author's writing style enough that I would give them another chance. I believe that this book will still appeal to those who enjoy steamy scenes.

This series is about 3 friend that have a life altering experience and decide to rectify a wrong decision from their past. In this book Vito decides he needs to know why his Gabrielle left him. And make her explain the note she left for him. But what he finds is not his Gabrielle, but Gabby. And she is so different then what he expected, but he find he loves her even more. Although what Gabby is hiding from Vito, Could very well send him running to the hills. So she decides to keep her secret for a while and get to know Vito. That until she is forced to revile her secret and things go to hell. But both of them want each other still they just need to see reason. And what a shocker when one person goes to Vito to tell him what he needs to know whether he wants to see it or not. Can they be convinced to give it one more try or will they lose everything that means anything to them. Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinion too.

Thank you to Entangled and Netgalley for allowing me to review this novel. This in no way influenced my review. Gabby left her fiancé Vitto the night before the wedding. Six months later, she thought he was over her and had moved on. Instead, he shows up at her work to watch her perform. He wants answers- a near death experience will do that to a guy. Only Gabby is afraid to tell him the answers- deleting this so as to not spoil the story for you. She just couldn’t do it, instead falling for him. Only Gabby is afraid to tell him the answers- deleting this so as to not spoil the story for you. She just couldn’t do it, instead falling for him. Knowing that she was not who she said she was and since she wasn’t presenting the real her- he couldn’t actually love her. Normally I am all about pretend books. Gabby is cute and riddled with guilt for what she did. Yet, she fights against coming clean about it for the sake of his feelings. She should have admitted what she did earlier on in the book. I felt that her holding it back, was a way to reflect her inner insecurity. Vitto is a stand-up guy. He deserves an amazing gal. Just not sure he got that with Gabby. The chemistry between the two of them is tea boiling hot. Gabby’s interactions with Luca and Theresa made the book for me. Her bestie and her brother are the prefect side-kicks. Hopefully the next book is about Theresa and Dr. Hottie. Or Luca and a gal that can knock him out. The scenes with Luca and Vitto are equally entertaining. His Fantasy Bride is the third book in a series, yet can be read as a stand-alone. I read it as a stand alone and now want to read the other two books in the series. It is a cute read that at times could cause the temperature in the room to burn.
