At last, Detective Comics Rebirth gears up towards a full blast. This series is consistently good in this Rebirth era. I love how James Tynion IV handles a relatively large cast of characters and still effectively tell a cohesive and interesting story. So there's a group of people whole themselves as the League of Shadows. I wonder how they are connected with R'as al Ghul. This surely brings back a lot of 90s stuff told in a modern fashion. Perfect, just perfect if this turns out to be true. There At last, Detective Comics Rebirth gears up towards a full blast. This series is consistently good in this Rebirth era. Perfect, just perfect if this turns out to be true. There's this young guy named Ulysses Armstrong who got extra panels than the other guys in the League. I wonder if he's going to be part of the Bat family. I mean, a dedicated tech guy who is an absolute nerd? That would be a fun addition to the ever-changing team. There are less Kate Kane moments here, but I don't complain because Batman clearly is the focus of the issue. I particularly want to say that the first page where LoS guys try to catalog all the stuff in Batman's utility belt is such a joy to read. Detective Comics shows that it is one of the best series in the DC Rebirth era, and they haven't started the big bang yet.

This continues to be one of the greatest books of Rebirth. Which is interesting because I was never the biggest fan of Tynion's Batman work in the past, though maybe that's due to him being more constrained to Snyder's stories. Because here, given his own book to do with what he wants, he really shines, and I love how it's focused on the Bat-Family. The art, too, is fantastic. Excellent. Best team-up book at DC right now. Like what it's making Batman confront about what he means to people. Like what it says about asking for help. Can't wait to read more. Excellent. And the brilliance of Detective Comics continue , with Batman trying his escape and the team of Batwoman , Robin, Spoiler , clayface set out to plan their own counterattack , meanwhile Batman reveals that he had known of the colony for a while and he in turn gets to learn more about it all. There wasn't enough action to fill my appetite but the interaction between the team members and the precarious situation that the Protagonists find themselves in is looking to surly make for some interesting And the brilliance of Detective Comics continue , with Batman trying his escape and the team of Batwoman , Robin, Spoiler , clayface set out to plan their own counterattack , meanwhile Batman reveals that he had known of the colony for a while and he in turn gets to learn more about it all. In mere terms of early reviews it does seem Detective comics is the best thing to come out of rebirth , followed by Green Arrow and then other works that have a lot of potential to improve

The artists are fantastic. They make Tim look gorgeous. And I love the initial pages, with Colony cataloging Batman's belt and him breaking out. Also, how much do I love Tim designing an entire bullet train system? Bless that genius. The artists are fantastic. They make Tim look gorgeous. This is by far my favorite title from Rebirth. It started out that way and it continues strong. I can't recommend this one enough. This is by far my favorite title from Rebirth. It started out that way and it continues strong. I can't recommend this one enough.

This reminds me of why I love Batman. Some good party interactions too!

The idea that there is a military group that trains their soldiers based on how Batman fights is just a great idea. Got to find out a lot more about The Colony

Batman has been captured by the Colony, his tech taken, catalogued, and analyzed, and he’s surrounded by an army of men trained in his own techniques. How can he escape alive? Maybe his trainees have something to say about all of that. This is a pretty cool issue. Not only do we get some great Batman moments as he works his way through their Cave complex, but we get some amazing visuals, so great background on the Colony, and some scary revelations about exactly how much they know about Batman hi Batman has been captured by the Colony, his tech taken, catalogued, and analyzed, and he’s surrounded by an army of men trained in his own techniques. The pieces are all fit together here and they’re actually pretty compelling. Jake Kane is shaping up to be quite a thorn in the Bat-teams side here. He’s the best kind of villain since he’s convinced he’s doing the right things, and that he has the right perspective on things. He’s proving to be a great foil for Batman here. Martinez’s artwork really shines this issue - particularly the big spreads of the Cave complex and the old Gotham subway tunnels. The scope of the illustrations is amazing and the detail really makes it all work. In fact, the detail in all of his panels is incredible and provides such a reality to the environments. Good stuff. But I also love the Eddy Barrows cover on this issue! Top Notch stuff there! A really interesting Batman-centric issue. Now let’s bring everyone together for some fun!

This was a pretty great turn of events. Turns out that Batman's crimefighting has been observed and used to teach soldiers to fight like him. And the moment that Batwoman has at the end is pretty amazing. This was a pretty great turn of events.

3.5 stars Batman figures out that his Uncle Jake is in charge of The Colony. He learns that his uncle has been using a young tech geek, Ulysses Hadrian Armstrong, to study Batman's ways so that they could create an army of Batmen (The League of Shadows). Meanwhile, Red Robin & his crew went underground so that they could find where Batman was taken. Uncle Jake is mad that Batman "took" his daughter. At the end of the issue, she proves where her loyalty lies. 3.5 stars Batman figures out that his Uncle Jake is in charge of The Colony. Not a bad read Not the best storyline detective comics has given us, but still a good read. Interesting to see Batwoman, Batman, Red Robin, and all the "misfits" of Batman comics working together. Not a bad read Not the best storyline detective comics has given us, but still a good read. Another solid issue and one of the strongest this week, this rebirth has been very consistent so far. The direction of the storyline has depth and I have a sense that things are going to escalate very quickly. The next issue might see Clayface finally unleashed.

A great example of Batman getting out of a trap issue. Liked the touch of dissecting a utility belt to show off how clever Batman is.

Actual rating: 3.75 stars This is good, but it's too piecemeal for me. This is definitely something that is better read as a trade. Actual rating: 3.75 stars This is good, but it's too piecemeal for me. This is definitely something that is better read as a trade.
