Yay! It's always a happy day when there's a new Donna Hatch book released. This came out at a perfect time since I was really wanting to escape for a bit. This had a fun and unique regency setting, which I loved. Susanna is a gifted harpist and when she realizes her aunt wants to marry her off to an odious cousin, she runs away to London hoping to use her talent and get a job playing in an orchestra. I enjoyed seeing this side of Regency England and it was nice to see a woman of this time stand Yay! It's always a happy day when there's a new Donna Hatch book released. I enjoyed seeing this side of Regency England and it was nice to see a woman of this time stand up for herself and try to make it on her own. Susanna was a likable character, she's easy to root for and it was great seeing her come into her own. The handsome Kit, the orchestra's violinist, feels badly for Susanna and ends up taking her under his wing. Kit was great, very charming and always there for Susanna. Overall, I thought this was a fun regency and just overall great story. Go grab a copy right now! Content Romance: Clean Language: None Violence: Very mild Source: Amazon Kindle

I enjoyed seeing a different side of London with the life of a musician that Kit leads and Susanna seeks. I liked that Kit is protective of Susanna and helps her when she has nowhere else to turn. This story was entertaining and the romance was sweet.

Another deep and fast paced intriquingly wonderful book by Donna! I personally think I'm a bit bias because I play the violin and have always wanted to play the harp, ALWAYS! So to have them in the same book, delightful!. I LOVE the fact that two class people wanted to break away from the 'norm' and find each other in a lower class is another delight. I don't write in this historical time, and that's why I love reading a well written book by someone who knows this era and knows how to write in i Another deep and fast paced intriquingly wonderful book by Donna! What an absolutely marvelous story. Kit was the lead violinist at the opera house. He left home where he was Lord Christopher, second son of the Duke of Charlemonte. Susanna Dyer was orphaned when she was thirteen. Her brother was killed during a battle at sea. This will make you cry in spots, she is so misused by her aunt's family. What she goes thru. Light and entertaining It's a clean read even if the ending did feel rushed. There is enough tension to keep you turning the page. Light and entertaining It's a clean read even if the ending did feel rushed. There is enough tension to keep you turning the page.

“Heart Strings” is a sweet little romantic romp through Regency England. It has a typical plot base: young lady is being forced to marry a nasty old guy by her notorious aunt who has ulterior selfish motives. However, Susanna will not subject herself to a life of horror with the creepy guy and escapes in the middle of the night to pursue a life of independence - a shocking idea for that time. The city is London; Susanna is alone with nowhere to stay, no one to help, and no money. She is a street “Heart Strings” is a sweet little romantic romp through Regency England. The city is London; Susanna is alone with nowhere to stay, no one to help, and no money. She is a street person until she can get a break. The one thing she has to offer is that she is an excellent harpist and is anxious to try to join an orchestra. It will be her only salvation and is not above begging for a chance to be heard. Fortunately she meets a violinist, Kit, who helps her. This is an easy read and a delightful story. Not much conflict to offer to give the plot depth, but at least its not strung out with misunderstandings and self-pity that can make a plot tedious sometimes. I cared about the characters and wanted Susanna to succeed. I like Donna Hatch as an author and this is a keeper in the light-reading category.

I liked both Susanna and Kit. I also liked Kit's family. They were good people. I was happy to see Susanna initiate saving herself from the evil aunt. It was too bad her indifferent uncle hadn't come to her rescue years before even as he watched her wasting away through starvation. In the end Susanna did need Kit to aid her but she was not a helpless female solely relying on a man to save her. I loved the gentleness of both characters yet they were both courageous and stood up for themselves and I liked both Susanna and Kit. I also liked Kit's family. They were good people. I loved the gentleness of both characters yet they were both courageous and stood up for themselves and what was right. I thought it was fun that the two main characters were so well mannered it appeared they must be from the upper crust yet they hung out with the working class. It was so unusual that they even baffled each other. This was a sweet love story that took place over a very short period of time yet it didn't feel like insta-love. It was easy to root for them to have their happily ever after. Sex: leering, invite to be the mistress Language: no Violence: yes *I won this book in a giveaway and voluntarily chose to review it

I loved Heart Strings by Donna Hatch. It was such a clean/sweet enjoyable read, filled with swoon-worthy moments, a dashing and most kind hero, and a lovely heroine. I especially liked the fact that the author wove her love of music, and specifically her knowledge of the harp in this story. It just made it so unique! All in all, a great and satisfying Donna Hatch romance (as always ;)), that will leave you with lots of Sweet Memories.

I LOVE Donna Hatch's books, and this was just another reminder of why. Wonderful, genuine characters, great plot, some danger, swoon worthy romance...it all adds up to turning pages, staying up late and closing the book with a happy sigh and a smile on my face. A sweet, clean, simple read. I really enjoyed the book. How Susana had to face the obstacles set before her, and how she met Kit—a real gentleman. I love that in a book. I can’t wait for the next book.

Heart Strings Oh what a sweet book of love found when least expected. Escaping abuse Susanna is seen as a poor waif by Kit the musician who feels the need to help her. Little did he know he would fall in love.

I'd probably actually put this at a 3.5. It was good. I enjoyed the characters and was glad that they each had a backbone and went after what they wanted without being pigheaded. But it lacked a certain something that I can't put my finger on. I wanted to be able to rave about it, but it didn't make it into rave territory. Still lovely, clean and sweet. Loved, loved, loved this book!! Highly recommend it to anyone who loves clean regency romance. My heart cried so many times for Susanna, and I just loved Kit! This was such a sweet story and I enjoyed seeing another side of London, one we don't usually see in your typical regency book. Sadly, the way Susanna's family treated her was all too common when one was orphaned and had to live with relatives. Reminded me of young Jane Eyre and her Aunt. *The other aspect I love about Donna Hatch's regency Loved, loved, loved this book!! Highly recommend it to anyone who loves clean regency romance. Donna Hatch does it again!!! Heart Stings is a fun read. Susanna Dyer is a penniless waif who is left in the guardianship of relatives who want nothing to do with her. They only want her dowry. Her love of music drives her to London where she seeks employment as a harpist. She meets Kit Anson whose own love of music and a talent for playing the violin puts him in her path. Their unlikely friendship leads them through the seedy side of London and beyond. You will love watching them make their way Donna Hatch does it again!!! Heart Stings is a fun read. WOW! What a great satisfying book this is! Donna Hatch has done it again with an outstanding regency story that holds you spellbound and leaves you wanting more. Her characters become friends who you want to know more of and it's hard to see the book end when you'd rather it went on and on. Loved it! Another book that I want to have in hard copy to reread and enjoy over and over. My girls will love it. WOW! What a great satisfying book this is! I love Donna Hatch's Rogue Hearts series so I was very excited to read something new by her. This book started off a bit slow for me and I had a hard time believing something like this story could happen during that time period. That being said, I did really want to know how it ended and it didn't disappoint. I love Donna Hatch's Rogue Hearts series so I was very excited to read something new by her.
