Kind of like an epilogue to the night of monster men with added flashbacks for Batwoman's early days of vigilante-ing and maybe a prologue to the soon to be released Batwoman issues .. The art though just beautiful , one of THE most beautiful thing . Ben Oliver is an artist to keep an eye on . This series has been getting worse and worse. I don't know if I can continue to read it for much longer. I know this was a setup issue, and maybe that's why it was so boring, but I was once obsessed with this series, found it fun and refreshing and interesting, and now it's a drag. Def a different feel to this issue. Not a whole lot happened but i appreciated the artwork and the verbal exchanges between Batman and Batwoman.

Batman calls on Batwoman, and only her, to help deal with the Colony.

I am a fan of Kate Kane and have high hopes for the series, unlike most of the fanboy naysayers; however, coming out of The Victim Syndicate story arch, this two story arch is disjointed and feels like nothing more than a Batwoman series hype.

This is a pretty good epilogue to Night of the Monster Men, and the artwork is pretty impressive.

I'm super exited for Batwoman to get her own series, and this only makes my excitement grow. I'm super exited for Batwoman to get her own series, and this only makes my excitement grow.

Admittedly, this issue is more of a flashback and setup for the rest of the arc, but as soon as I opened the book, I was struck by how absolutely fitting the art is for Batwoman Begins. Tynion, Bennett, and Oliver have big shoes to fill after Rucka, Blackman, and Williams. And they also have a lot to redeem after the way the run ended (I don't remember who the last creative team was and I don't much feel like looking it up). But I trust Kate Kane's new writers, and if this issue is anything to go by, Ben Oliver is going to be stellar at executing Batwoman. His art feels lush and meaty, something you can sink your teeth into. Every panel is gorgeously composed, drawn, and coloured. I'm looking forward to this series.

Good story. I like how Tynion's tying things together while keeping the pacing. Wasn't too excited by the cliff-hanger. The art's fab. Good story. I like how Tynion's tying things together while keeping the pacing. Wasn't too excited by the cliff-hanger. The art's fab.

Takes a really abrupt turn in the middle, but it's an intriguing start to the new arc. Excited to read Bennett's forthcoming spinoff. Takes a really abrupt turn in the middle, but it's an intriguing start to the new arc. Excited to read Bennett's forthcoming spinoff.

Ok, I'm intrigued. I love how Batwoman is being drawn first and foremost. But the seagull monsters were scary AF. Ok, I'm intrigued. I love how Batwoman is being drawn first and foremost. But the seagull monsters were scary AF.
