Great intro! After reading Lawrence Wallace's book on CBT, I wanted to check out his other books. This book is a great complement to the other, but definitely stands as its own work too. Wallace goes over how suffering functions in the Buddhist mindset, and offers solutions for changing personal perspective away from it. He offers lots of tips on meditation practices and shows an understanding that it may be difficult at first. Lots of other guides to meditation seem to assume that everyone will f Great intro! Wallace goes over how suffering functions in the Buddhist mindset, and offers solutions for changing personal perspective away from it. He offers lots of tips on meditation practices and shows an understanding that it may be difficult at first. Lots of other guides to meditation seem to assume that everyone will find it easy, so different practice suggestions are welcome. This book is a little less inclusive of the disabled experience than his book on CBT, but the book as a whole is highly accessible and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend this as an intro to mindfulness and meditation, or as a companion piece.

This is different than a typical book in that it's more like a meditation retreat, which makes it really effective. The tone and the format suits the topic. Highly recommended. For a person who's curious about Buddhism, this is a good starting point. If you read this seriously you can begin to make positive changes in your life, if you want to. This is a good, understandable book for people who want to delve more deeply into specific teachings of buddhism. There's a lot of great books out there, some by Thich Nhat Hanh, that use buddhist principles to enhance our every day lives. Very Good I liked this book a lot. I did not know much about Buddhism. I really thought people were worshipping the Budda statue like an Idol or something. I was way off base and I'm glad I know better now. Very Good I liked this book a lot. I did not know much about Buddhism.
