kindle unlimited A good bit of the information I knew already from different places, but there was quite a bit didn't, more on after the White House, but even during it. One of the things I enjoy most about these encapsulated histories of prominent people is that someone's whole life is available in one place.  Although alive during Kennedy's era, life happened and I wasn't particularly aware of the miscarriages Mrs. Kennedy endured.  I didn't realize that the death of Patrick occurred so close to the death of Jack Kennedy; what a pair of tragedies to endure.   It was interesting to learn that Jackie attached the phrase of 'Camelot' to the administration of her hu One of the things I enjoy most about these encapsulated histories of prominent people is that someone's whole life is available in one place.  Although alive during Kennedy's era, life happened and I wasn't particularly aware of the miscarriages Mrs. Kennedy endured.  I didn't realize that the death of Patrick occurred so close to the death of Jack Kennedy; what a pair of tragedies to endure.   It was interesting to learn that Jackie attached the phrase of 'Camelot' to the administration of her husband, forever tying the two together.  She was able to redefine her husband's presidency in terms of 'what might have been' instead of what it really was -- essentially, a not very effective era. (Perhaps I'm being harsh but I'm thinking of the Bay of Pigs fiasco and the Vietnam War that Kennedy increased our involvement in during his tenure.  He did have some success, namely getting the Russian missiles out of Cuba.) I would have appreciated some photos (no, not the pink dress and pill hat, that's forever etched in my mind & it's on the cover of this book).  But the jewelry she valued would have been nice.  I would have liked to have seen the White House rooms before and after Mrs. Kennedy did the renovations. I did learn that Mrs. Kennedy was adroit in getting groups together to get the money she needed to do the changes.  This book shows just how sharp a politician she was in her own right.

Interesting While limited in scope, the book was interesting. It basically hit the high points of Mrs. Kennedy's life providing enough information to provide the reader with information on all phases of her life. I doubt you'll learn anything new if you're an avid Kennedy reader, but the style was pleasant enough. There was no in depth narrative, but you're going to be given a decent overview. You can easily finish this in one sitting. A great deal of the book is on other people. It's like gettin Interesting While limited in scope, the book was interesting. Interesting A short but very readable biography of an intriguing woman. It appears she was very much her own person and not an addendum to the President. She also helped to bring about very different views of the role of a Presidential spouse than the traditional ones. A remarkable woman, reading a full geography of her should be fascinating.

This was a nice overview of the life of Jackie Kennedy Onassis, although I would have liked to have learned more about her career exploration and work prior to her marriage to John F. Kennedy. I know that she had a career in her own right in the book world in the latter part of her life and this was just touch on in this book.

Quick, interesting read about Jackie Kennedy Quick, interesting read on the numerous accomplishments of Jackie Kennedy. Jackie's numerous accomplishments often get lost amongst the reported scandals and I enjoyed learning about them. A learning experience! Enjoyable reading exercise. So much has been written about the former First Lady, and I suppose much more will be written about her in the years to come. This book is worth reading.

Good Read for Me I enjoyed the content. I was a little bummed the subject matter only took up half the book, and the other half were previews of a few more books. So I rated 3 stars.

Boring. One word says it all. I was bored. It did not hold my interest. It often skipped ahead then back. Than forward again. She is one of my favorite first ladies. She was proud, strong and loving gentle mother.

Quick read - Interesting short and snappy insight into the life and times of Jackie and her extended family. Nothing particularly juicy revealed, but quite a good refresher of a book.

A very quick read. She endured a lot while first lady. Can't imagine loosing a husband like she did. She loved her children and her books. She was a fashionista before there was even that term. I was a young child when the Kennedys were in the White House, so I remember very little about that part and some things about her later life when married to Aristotle Onassis. This book did a great job of covering her many accomplishments and the losses that she endured, and putting it into a shorter story. It filled me in on a lot of things that I previously hadn't known about her and was an interesting read from start to finish.
