3 Stars Am I disappointed? Yes. First half of the book was good it’s the second half that just ruined it for me. It was rushed and the whole suspense as to why both Courtney and Kyle stopped talking was a big disappointment. I was hoping for something more….. than what happened lmao. Kyle and Courtney in College were cute ngl 🥺

I felt a tiny bit disappointed about the conflict that initiated Courtney and Kyle's decision to go separate ways and also the reason for their break-up but I enjoyed the build up of their friendship and their shift from friends to lovers SO MUCH that I just kept on reading, eager to see them reunited and happy. There is just something about an unrepentant—supposedly— manwhore intent on getting the one thing he's not supposed to have. Kyle's persistence doubled to his legendary swager was too powerful even for career driven Courtney! I LOVED that the author used romance movies as the medium to get them closer. This was such a sweet addition! All in all, a sweet, sexy and fun romance bite. More reviews and book talk at : You can find me here too ☞

But when he starts his senior year, he realizes that most people want something from him at the same time that he gets the opportunity to spend time with the one woman who wants nothing to do with him. And when it comes to Courtney, Kyle is all in. The extremes he goes to, to get her to spend time with him and woo her are wacky, adorable and swoony. He’s an endearing, cocky alpha male who never gave up on his one true love. While she tried her best to ignore him or put him in his place, she was truly successful because deep down, she was just as gone for him as he was. Their story is fast pace. It goes back and forth from present to past, the latter showing us how the met, moved from enemies to friends to lovers. On a Wednesday is book #2 of the One Week series by Whitney G.. I couldn’t get enough of his methods of trying to persuade her to date him. He’s alpha to the core and I fell in love with his wacky ways and pushy methods immediately. Courtney was more than capable of handling Kyle and his over inflated ego. She was always quick to put him in his place except she was never quite able to do so. He just rolled right over whatever put down she came back at him with. It made for some hilarious reading. This had a fast pace, never slowing or bogging down. This couple takes steamy to a whole new level and secondary characters that were fun to revisit back in the day, as well as currently. Overall, a great read that left me smiling. She has little choice other than to go along with it, she remembers the first day she met him her freshman year when he clean knocked her on her bum. His reputation is legendary and she has no intention to be added to his notches. But as time moves along she sees someone beyond the face he shows to his public and as much as she tries to fight her feelings they are undeniable, however Courtney is due to start her internship in London and he’s about to join the NFL, long distance is the only way to keep them together but after they have a fight and all contact is lost. It’s her 28th birthday and the man she had never ever been able to get over is there to claim his prize but he may be too late, will she give him a chance or will she choose another path away from Kyle? Kyle Stanton was living every little boys dream as a football star heading for the super leagues. He has a reputation with the ladies and is the campus playboy, girls only want him for one thing and that’s is upcoming status and wealth. Courtney is nothing like the girls he is used to but she hates him after he stood her up during freshman year. It appears that the heavens were looking out for him when Courtney is the one assigned to him for her thesis, what happens next is friendship and a pact that when they both turned 28 he is back to make good on what they agreed all those years ago. Only he may be too late, will he get a second chance with the love of his life or has the love boat already set sail? Great read, although I’m not a fan of the swapping of time lines I still enjoyed their journey and them finally getting a second chance. This story had me hooked from the first chapter. 4.5 Super stars.

3.5 stars! This is the long-awaited second book in the One Week series, following on from On a Tuesday, which I absolutely loved. This is the story of Kyle – the hilarious, manwhoring best friend of Connor (hero from On a Tuesday), and his story is fun, unexpected and sexy with a nice amount of heart. This is the story of Kyle – the hilarious, manwhoring best friend of Connor (hero from On a Tuesday), and his story is fun, unexpected and sexy with a nice amount of heart. Like his best friend, Kyle is an NFL superstar, but his personal life is pretty much non-existent, and his relationship with the media and his ‘fans’ is tumultuous at best. His life takes an interesting turn when a random social media comment sparks memories of the girl he fell for in his senior year of college. He and Courtney remained close after graduating, but had a massive falling out a little over a year ago and they haven’t spoken since, leaving a gaping hole in his life. Kyle decides to jump on the opportunity and fly across the country to see her, but ends up gatecrashing what actually turns out to be her engagement party. Awkward! But not all is as it seems, and the chemistry in their brief encounter sets the scene before we travel back in time to where it all began. As a college student, Kyle is a wildly entertaining hero, with a well deserved reputation as a cocky playboy who never takes anything seriously. But a run-in with devoted student, Courtney, has him all hot and bothered, unable to think of anything except the one girl who seems immune to his charms. Courtney had a bad experience with Kyle during their freshman year, and she has tried her best to ignore the cocky, manwhoring playboy ever since. But she’s in her senior year of a journalism major when she is tasked with writing about the sports star for her thesis project, and she is horrified. Kyle is thrilled to have an excuse to spend time with the girl he has been secretly crushing on, so they set up weekly meetings ‘On a Wednesday’, those soon spilling over into the rest of the week as Kyle pretty much inserts himself into Courtney’s life, and the two of them become friends. It’s a fun friendship, full of teasing, and Kyle working hard to drag Courtney out of her shell. And underneath it all is a raging attraction that Courtney does her best to ignore, trying to keep things strictly in the friend zone… until Kyle douses that idea completely. “Friends can handle their friends going out on dates with other people.” “Then we need to call this little arrangement something else.” He suddenly presses his lips against mine, ending my argument with ease. Kyle and Courtney are a lot of fun together, with great chemistry. They never really define what they are, they just go along with it, and it’s all very playful and sexy. They both know that their time together is coming to an end - Kyle is headed straight into the NFL after graduation, and Courtney is heading to London to further her studies – but that doesn’t stop feelings from developing, and when they part, they promise to remain friends and come back together when Courtney returns to the US in four years. During the story of their college years, the story jumps back and forward in time, and it continues to skip forward during their time apart. We get to see glimpses of them struggling with the distance and the changes to their relationship, and we get to see their vicious falling out, leaving them both so angry, and Courtney devastated. And then we’re back to the present, watching a lovesick and determined Kyle fight to win back the only girl he’s ever loved. “I want you back, and I don’t know any other way to make that clear. And I don’t know why I’ve waited all this time to tell you how I feel.” It’s a fun read, mostly because of Kyle’s wicked sense of humor and his ‘no fucks given’ attitude when it came to getting Courtney back. Seriously, the man has no shame, and there is nothing he won’t do, which makes him a really entertaining romantic hero. And though Courtney is initially wary, she is understandably powerless to resist the force that is Kyle. “I’ve never loved anyone else the way I love you,” he said. “Never.” I love a second-chance-romance, and I was hoping this book would hit me in the feels just as much as its predecessor did, but after all of the build-up, I thought that the part of the story that takes place after their college years all felt a bit rushed. It seemed more like a highlight reel, as we got to see the big moments, without any of the lead-up or resulting fall out. It was more just glimpses into their lives. And while I appreciated that it helped keep the storyline moving, it all happened very quickly, and I would have liked to see a bit more of that time in their story so that the emotion really had time to develop. But the book ends well, satisfying on all fronts as Kyle and Courtney sort their lives out and find their way back to each other. 3.5 stars. An Advanced Reader Copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved On a Tuesday but this one just didn't live up to me. I wasn’t a fan of the constant flashback. I also think the book spent way to much time in the past and not enough in the present. And I hate saying this but the characters weren’t that interesting too. Unfortunately, this was a meh read for me. I absolutely loved On a Tuesday but this one just didn't live up to me. I wasn’t a fan of the constant flashback. I wanted to like this book so badly because I loved the first book in this series, but it just did not work for me. The characters had no chemistry and the plot just felt meh. Kyle came off as very immature and I just felt like this book could have been way better. I almost DNF because I got bored halfway through.

I SUPER loved this story! ”She’s supposed to marry me…Not anyone else.” Kyle Stanton and Courtney Johnson have a history. They became friends at college in their senior year and then something more…but never fully defined. Their paths separated them post-college and then, just as they were nearing the home straight back to each other, things completely fell apart for them. Now, sixteen months later, Courtney has just gotten engaged and Kyle is determined that he’s the one she should be with. ”I fe I SUPER loved this story! ”She’s supposed to marry me…Not anyone else.” Kyle Stanton and Courtney Johnson have a history. Now, sixteen months later, Courtney has just gotten engaged and Kyle is determined that he’s the one she should be with. ”I felt like we belonged together – that he was who I was meant to spend the rest of my life with, but for whatever reason, now wasn’t out time.” I adore the way this author writes. She’s funny yet emotional. There’s always great banter between the characters which always keeps me engaged, as well as more moving scenes that has me completely invested. Her stories twist and turn, as unexpected insights into the characters and events become revealed. Kyle was cocky and sure of himself. A player who wanted to have the best senior year of his life before being drafted into the NFL. However, Courtney catches him off-guard as he becomes caught up in her. Courtney is a loner – but not through choice. In Kyle, she’s found her first true college friend, as they spend days and evenings together exploring their college town. The attraction between them keeps things buzzing between them as Courtney strives to stay in the friendzone until Kyle boldly steps over the line. I loved how the story played out – moving between the past and the present, as we unravel their history and follow them in the present. Kyle, for all his arrogance, was such a softie! I loved his grand gestures. Such a fabulous story and I can’t wait for this author’s next release! Blog: https://readingwillingable.blogspot.c... Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/review/R2TONUF...

As their 28th birthday approaches he regrets the loss of Courtney and thinks of ways to reconnecting. Through social media he discovers she is being thrown a surprise party and makes an impromptu appearance, they are both taken by shock at the unfolding events at the party. Their friendship dates back to their senior year of college and transitions into their early career, alternating from past to present with dual points of view, sharing their history in present timeline whilst primarily reverting to their senior year to share insight to their backstory. Courtney was on a cheerleading scholarship, with a promising future in sports journalism. Ambitious, independent and competitive, but always overshadowed due to her lack of assertiveness. She is assigned to write her thesis about Kyle, one of the star football players and resident playboy on campus. He failed to leave her with a favourable first impression, as he stood her up for a school project and she’s held a grudge ever since. Kyle has been attracted to Courtney since they initially met their freshman year but due to a trauma, she blocked out their first meeting. Kyle oftentimes jokes about it but Courtney dismisses it until she has a flashback at the end. Courtney ends up having to interview Kyle for her thesis and they agree to meet every Wednesday until it is completed. They met on a Wednesday. Were adversaries, then lovers, on a Wednesday.   They made a final promise before bidding each other goodbye, on a Wednesday … Kyle Stanton is the cockiest playboy who has ever set foot on this university’s campus.  His annoying phrase, “No need to stare, I’ll let you ride it up close and personal, just say the word”.  They have one semester left together ... He’s bound for the professional football league, and she for London. Every Wednesday, Kyle and Courtney meet to pursue her interview. He is brutally honest in his answers, and she soon has a wonderful thesis. Courtney and Kyle become friends throughout the year, and eventually lovers. However, they want different things in life and go their separate ways, promising to remain long-distance “friends”, a few years later, a brutal argument ensues, terminating their relationship. For thirteen months there is no contact. Harsh accusations (self-truths) are exchanged in anger and that’s the last time they speak. Kyle disables all media and communication connections to Courtney and she does the same. Courtney faces a surprise birthday party, a surprise marriage proposal and Kyle’s unannounced appearance, all at once. Back in time, he sent her a message.  Me: Hey. I couldn’t help but notice that you weren’t cheering for me at our game today. Thank you for your lack of support. Courtney Johnson: Hey. I couldn’t help but notice that I haven’t blocked you. Thank you for the reminder.  Me: I’m just trying to be cool with you since we share some common interests. Courtney Johnson: Name five. Me: We both go to Pitt. We’re both seniors. We both have worn blue and gold. We both play a sport. And …We both are attracted to each other.  Courtney Johnson: I have a boyfriend, Kyle.  Me: That has nothing to do with attraction. (By the way, your relationship status says, “Single.”) She immediately updated the status to say, “It’s complicated,” and I held back a laugh.  She definitely doesn’t have a boyfriend. Me: Have you accepted my apology for our group project yet?  Courtney Johnson: Never.  Me: For the record, if you want to hold onto things first, you stood me up first, freshman year. We met before, remember? Courtney Johnson: You’re joking, right? Me: Yes, and I’d like to clear this up in person tonight. Where do you live? She blocked me, and I laughed.  It was worth a try. COURTNEY: THEN Senior Year Subject: Next Wednesday? Hey, Courtney,  Something came up, so I can’t meet you today. Does any other day this week work? I want to make sure you have enough of me for that thesis thing.  Kyle S.  Subject: Re: Next Wednesday Hey, Kyle.  Not really.  I’m taking over for two sick staff writers.  “That thesis thing” is my GRADE. Men need to respect these feelings. The next time I’m buried deep inside of one, I will make sure that I respect those feelings.” “Have a seat.” “Wait. I have an important meeting with someone in twenty minutes. Can I come back after that for my next dose of punishment?” “Your next hookup can wait.” “This girl isn’t a hookup, Coach, I mean, did you not catch a word of what I said a few weeks ago? Granted, she’s sexy as hell, but she’s not into me.” Five essays and three long lectures later, Coach finally returned my phone.  I started to message Courtney to apologize for missing another Wednesday, but she’d already sent me a slew of emails.  Subject: Today’s Session. Subject: We’re still on, right? It’s seven-thirty.  Subject: SERIOUSLY? It’s TEN o’clock.  Sh*t.” Kyle was being hounded by a photographer, he dismissively makes a comment that goes viral after failing to win the Super Bowl, devastated, the fans made it clear that they were starting to lose hope in him. After reconnecting, he admits that he wrote her many unanswered letters and she discovers her then boyfriend Graham, absconded the hundred plus letters Kyle sent to her and kept them a secret. The writer graced us with a personal note, acknowledging parallels in the story such as The University of Pittsburgh being her alma mater and like Courtney she lost her father to a murder (during her freshman year of college in 2007).

Kyle Stanton has it all, or so it seems. Fame, fortune and anything he wants at his fingertips from his NFL celebrity status, aside from angry fans. As his 28th birthday creeps up, he sees a blast from his past comment on his Instagram post and wastes no time seeking her out after a long period of the silent treatment. Courtney Johnson did not have a favorable first impression of Kyle in college as a freshman. He stood her up for a school project and she’s held a grudge ever since. Courtney Johnson did not have a favorable first impression of Kyle in college as a freshman. He stood her up for a school project and she’s held a grudge ever since. Then on a Wednesday during senior year, they became friends that were eventually more. I really liked Kyle, he was flirty, funny and charming. He also didn’t beat around the bush nor did he ever lie to Courtney. He had a reputation to uphold and averted the truth to others, but showed his real self to Courtney and trusted her. She was ambitious, independent and competitive, but always drew the short stick when it really mattered despite giving it her all. Kyle has a way of bulldozing his way beyond the nonsense and does this same thing with Courtney in both the past and the present, giving her little defense against his persistence. Yet he’s the one who believes in her talent the most. Overall, another fun and entertaining read by Whitney G with great characters.

Courtney is a young woman going to college where she will be majoring in journalism. She has her career path and goals all set for her 4 years in college. She is lonely, sweet, beautiful and the smartest. She has kind of loss in her journey and having a hard time making friends which is so unlike her. Courtney is an amazing woman! She has Kyle as her enemy since their freshman year. Kyle is a star athletic at the same college as Courtney. He is funny, sexy, persistent, and playboy. He is misunderstood which is funny and sad at the same time. His childhood is hard and he tries to overcome it. At first I didn’t too much care for him (I did laugh at his ridiculous) but then he start slowing winning me over. He is so much more if you dig a little deeper. I love how he goes way and beyond. The writing was done as always from Whitney G. She will pulled you in her world of young adults trying to navigate in the world. I love how she explain in details about Pittsburgh and everything in between. It seem I was right there with Courtney and Kyle on their journey to their happy ever after. I received this ARC for an honest review in my own words. AH-AMAZING WORK AGAIN WHITNEY G!!!😘😘😘

They met freshman year in college – and it didn’t go well. When they meet again senior year, things spark, fizzle and reignite. I would classify this one as a fun rom-com with some expected light angst to keep it entertaining. There are some great lines of witty banter and sexy exchanges between the couple. Don’t expect pages of vivid down-and-dirty sexual encounters because you won’t find them. Sizzling insinuations are plentiful though. A short, quick read without much depth in the character development. It’s pretty much surface behaviors. Kyle is a star football player in the NFL and Courtney is a very bright but struggling journalist. The story is easy to follow as it jumps between present and past timelines. I was surprised how quickly I arrived at the satisfying ending – although I thought it felt rushed. The Epilogue was short and sweet as well.

I really liked this book. I love Whitney G's writing style and devour every book I can find by her. This one was no different and it definitely did not disappoint. Whitney's writing is engaging, funny, and with just the right amount of drama.

Kyle and Courtney, although it was nice to see their past and present years and EVERYTHING that happened, I think it would have worked to have all past together as a part one to all present part 2. Whitney is notorious for writing this way for some of her books, but sometimes those just take a bit for me to get into. I think the characters were great though. Even though its been a long while that I read On a Tuesday, I guess Kyle might be from that book? I freaking loved this book. I don’t want to spoil anything so some parts of this review might seem vague. I love love loved Kyle. He frustrated me at times but he was real. I loved his friendship with Courtney and how it changed over time. I thought both the past and present chapters were well done. I laughed and I cried and I fell even more in love with this series.

This is a mixer of some of my favorite tropes. The connection between Kyle and Courtney was one of my favorite things about this book. Their banter, his love for her, his conviction, all of it was just romance goodness. The only thing I would have like to have been done different was the ending. I kinda wanted more from it, other than that this was just awesome. ARC in exchange for an honest review

4.5 stars Review by Lisa Kane I adored this story! Courtney makes nerdiness charming and Kyle is a player who admits to falling for the good girl. I'm not going to repeat the back story. (all is told quite thoroughly in the blurb) The story starts out in the present day and then fills in with flashbacks to the couple's college years. Courtney has more talent than the job she holds, and is aware that another writer gets constant credit for her work. But there are reasons she never speaks up. Courtney has more talent than the job she holds, and is aware that another writer gets constant credit for her work. But there are reasons she never speaks up. Kyle is an enormously successful, talented football player, but has failed to deliver the super bowl win that he promised to fans. And those fans are quite vocal at his failure. So much so that he is planning a little break from town to get away from their hatred. Which leads him to discover that there is a surprise birthday party being given for Courtney. Now Kyle and Courtney had a falling out months ago and have not spoken. Each banned the other from their social media accounts. But super sleuth Kyle finds out where the party is being held and makes it his business to be there. It's more than time for he and Courtney to talk things out. She's about to turn 28. That age when Kyle and Courtney promised to marry so long ago. Kyle wants her to pay up! On a Wednesday is a great read which held my attention throughout the book. I would have liked less past and more present if truth be told. There was a kitten that Courtney had in her dorm room in college (yes, the rule follower knowingly broke the rules!) but suddenly there was no mention of what happened to the kitten. I have to admit, that bothered me to no end. I kept picturing this homeless kitten fending for itself....I need closure on that unanswered question.

Fast forward senior year and she has been assigned to write her Thesis on Kyle Stanton the aloof football player, preparing for the NFL draft but never gives a solid interview. Kyle is realizing that all of his notches for Senior year will be motivated by his draft status and he finds himself under one hell of a dry spell. After what happened to his roommate Grayson he now understands the dilemma he is facing . Courtney Johnson is a beautiful woman, college cheerleader with her 10 year plan all mapped out. As she evaluates her college life she doesn’t understand why she has never made one true friend. When assigned to Kyle for her thesis she finds that he will become the closest thing to a friend that she has had while in college. A handsome man and beautiful woman both smart and with bright futures. Will we have a friends with benefits or will they both fall in love with one another? Years later Kyle is in the NFL and Courtney has not found her dream job but at 28 years they both have a reunion on the horizon. Did time stand still or is it too late because one of them has moved on?? I absolutely love WG books. The way she writes the reader will devour the story. I’ve never been disappointed in one of her books and the sexual tension she can write is second to none! This is a stand alone book but On a Tuesday is just as good so please feel free to read that one next 💋

Always engaging, and I love the cover! Well, this is a mix of angsty new-adult and second-chance romance with a dash of secretive past. With the usual sharp wit we are accustomed to from this author, the plot bounces between college life and the current more adult life of the characters. Even though I'm not fond of arrogant jocks who only think of fun and women, the story develops into a very interesting tug-of-war between the sports star and the journalist who interviews him against her will. Kyle and Courtney have a complicated relationship. Pride, fame, ambition and trust issues compete to derail it along with distance and different goals. They feel a powerful attraction, but are always teasing each other mercilessly. I loved it when they were really amorous and happy prior to graduation, and I also enjoyed Kyle's super passionate way of claiming her. As usual, there are several layers to this story, and the jumps between past and present reveal meaningful events that affect everything. A great thing about this story is Courtney's journalist skills, Kyle's not so obvious talents beyond football, and the influence of romantic films. The happily ever after is well earned after many exasperating misunderstandings and mistakes, and I loved Kyle's tireless belief in their chance at love. Very entertaining.
