The Acolyte's Passion is, really, the first full-length novel to (in my humble opinion) truly deserve the erotic fantasy label. At its heart, this is a vintage quest novel, but with some Reed James twists. Our heroes are both women, a knight-errant and a young acolyte, on their way to slay a dragon. Simple enough, but there are secret plots behind their quest, and the monsters of this land are cursed with appetites both carnal and carnivorous. Although Angela is, ostensibly, the heroine of the tale, it is her acolyte companion who so completely captured my heart. Sophia is just delightful, a spoiled lesbian who, after years of seducing the newest girls of her order, finds herself in love with the knight-errant. The sexual mythology of her order could make a book of its own, and Sophia's baptism of milk-filled breasts and squirting vaginas and absolutely breathtaking . . . almost as much so as her acts of sexual healing later in the story. Of course, it should come as no surprise that the master of futanari erotica populates the book with not just one, but five hermaphroditic elemental races - Elves (life), Gnomes (earth), Sylphs (air), Nixies (water), and Dragons (fire). We meet the elves first, with the beautiful Xerathalasia (Xera) joining the quest, and for those who dread the fantasy tendency to delay the climax, we do get to confront Dominari, the fabled Dragon, in the final chapters. Clearly, just as much work went into building the story as the mythology, with The Acolyte's Passion delivering a remarkably well-balanced story where all the elements are integrated into a delicious whole. Fantasy, erotica, adventure, action, politics, romance, drama, and faith are all interwoven into a story that depends on all of them evenly. This is not an epic fantasy with sex scenes tossed in, but an erotic epic fantasy where sex is integral to the plot, and sexuality integral to the world. It is seamless blend, and there is more than enough passion and imagination to keep it fresh and exciting. With five novels planned in the series, I honestly do not know how Reed James can possibly top this . . . but I cannot wait to find out. As published on Bending the Bookshelf

Yes, it is filled with a variety of naughty stuff, copious amounts of it, but there is also a great amount of enriched story to go with it all! The depth of the fantasy caught me, held me & completely captivated me from beginning to end. The unique storylines, raunchy scenes, along with the assortment of many-sided characters each added another layer of depth, pulling me in even more! I love how Reed wove the fantasy & raunchy together so seamlessly, so it isn't an erotic book with some fantasy, nor is it a fantasy with smut thrown in, it really is an erotic fantasy tale that is a tasty treat to read in so many ways, on so many different layers/levels and so many aspects, parts & pieces it’s a feast for one and all! Reed’s phenomenal talent is on full display with all of the vividly & lushly detailed, descriptive storytelling, the numerous races of heroes, villains, monsters, creatures, Gods & Goddesses, the prophecies & magic that is “powered” by lust & passion and how it is all brought together in one deeply enriched and enhanced story! I firmly believe that this is his best work yet!! If you love epic fantasy and x-rated erotica, then you will LOVE The Acolyte's Passion!

I am a huge fan of fantasy and Reed James has managed to write a compelling fantasy novel interwoven with non-stop, inventive, and very hot, erotic encounters between every one and every creature that the reader encounters within the novel. Along the way, she must gather a group of helpers, some human and some non-human, to help her fulfill her quest. She is beset by dangers some magical and some from political intrigue. The realms of this world all seem to operate on sexual magic so characters are continually having sex in order to provide power to their spells or to barter favours from magical beings. It is a cornucopia of sex with a intriguing quest story that runs throughout the fantasy. In many ways, I was reminded of Piers Anthony's erotic fantasy novels although I think James has done a more inventive job in depicting the eroticism between the characters in this story. I am looking forward to seeing what happens as the quest continues in future novels. Overall, a wonderfully entertaining erotic fantasy!

It sounds weird to be talking about world building in the context of an erotic fantasy, but that's precisely what makes the saga of The Knight and the Acolyte so compelling. Reed James hasn't just dressed up an erotic story with the trappings of epic fantasy, he has crafted an epic fantasy that is, in both its foundations and its execution, intensely erotic. At its core, The Acolyte's Passion is a traditional quest-based fantasy, in which we meet the heroes, learn of prophecy surrounding them, embark upon the quest to (yes) slay the dragon, and gather the rest of the adventuring party along the way. It's simple storytelling, comfortably familiar to fans of Weis and Hickman, Lackey, Salvatore, and (of course) Tolkien. There is wonder and passion aplenty here, with magical races and incredible monsters defining the world, and complementary magic systems and mythologies making it interesting . . . and all of it driven by sex. For a priest, priestess, or paladin, their magic was powered by the god or goddess they served. For witches, they merely had an innate ability to control the natural spirits of the world. But for a mage, we needed a powerful source of energy, and nothing was more primal than sexual fluids. For Angela, Sophia, Xera, and Faoril, sex is something to be enjoyed, free of any sort of inhibitions, in a world that celebrates the entire spectrum of passion, without judgment. Sex is at the heart of both prayer and ritual; it is openly enjoyed in a crowd or with a crowd; and the hermaphroditic nature of the non-human races isn't a source of fear or disgust, but of appreciation. Even the monsters are sexual, driven to play - quite literally - with their prey. It sounds bizarre, and it most certainly is, but Reed James somehow makes it work. For instance, there's an encounter involving a giant spider with a human face and eight human hands at the end of its hairy legs. A terrifyingly bizarre creature that captures its prey, binds them erotically with its webbing, places them in a bimbo-like state of submissive euphoria, and then uses its ovipositor to deposit eggs deep inside them that will soon hatch, leaving baby spiders to devour the surrogate from the inside. It should be gruesome, terrifying stuff - and, to some extent, it is - but it's also incredibly erotic, driven as much by that bimbo-like submission as the spider's own sexual delight and appreciation for its victim. "You are eager to be implanted," chittered Sliyth. "You are so beautiful. I will always remember you, Sophia." "Me too," I moaned as she crawled over me. The characters are well-developed, with surprising depth, which makes this more than just a one-handed read. They have backstories, conflict, conflicting desires, and genuine friendships. Sophia is, by far, the most likable of the group, but the sacrifices Angela is forced to make along the way position her as a true hero. Xera is a character I originally mistook for mere fetish fuel, a perpetually naked (and periodically futa) elf, but the scenes with her pregnant wife reveal so much more about her personality and motivation. Faoril we don't really get to meet until late in the story, with most of her scenes involving displays of sex magic, but there is a tragic aspect to her story that I really hope is further explored in the books to come. Of course, any good epic fantasy needs a villain, and The Acolyte's Passion gives us three . . . although there is plenty of room to question the true motives of one of them. These are not cheesy scene-chewing villains, but realistic characters driven by political concerns, family obligations, and as much fear as ambition. They work largely behind the scenes, attempting to manipulate events from afar, but I suspect their involvement may grow as the series progresses. Finally, I have to say a few words about the writing. I found the opening chapters a bit of a challenge, with the early dialogue dripping with porno-cheesiness. It concerned me, but very few epic fantasies open with perfect polish, and I'm used to feeling an author grow into the narrative as the story progresses, so I kept reading. Fortunately, Reed James begins to hit his stride as soon as Angela and Sophia take to their horses, and nails the delicate balance between erotica author and epic fantasy author with the attack of the panthopus. From there on in, it's smooth sailing, with a book that had me devouring "just one more chapter" too many times to count. Bring on The Mage's Passion, its hulking orc barbarian, and the promise that you can't keep a good villain down! https://femledfantasy.home.blog/2019/...

Erotic Wow, this was definitely erotic. If you like hentai, with some monsters and everything's involved, this is the book for you. Few things I did not like. One, the scenes were too rushed in the sex department. Two, the "dirty" talk was quite repetitive and most times all rushed into one sentence. Three, sometimes things jumped too quickly from one perspective to another. All in all though, it has a interesting plot, and a shut Tom of hot sex happening. This one will get your panties dripping. This book contains a lot of sex. Call it smut is you must. The question remains: "is there enough content between the sex?" Most have not. The answer is yes. But this book has just that bit of plot, that bit of world building that will keep you reading. You want to know what will happen next. Remove the sex and a fairly good fantasy novel remains, but it won't work without the sex. This is the party in an isometric RPG game that you might like to play. This book contains a lot of sex. More Story Less Sex So I really like the story , if you can get to it. The MC is quite interesting. The other characters wants you to have sympathy for them. But every chapter has random sex. I had to skip some whole chapters Jett so I can get back to the story.
