A great book for young kids and up to earn to be grateful... I liked how the author wrote, illustrated this book that teaches or reminds one to be grateful for their family as Godfrey did. Only the hard way. This rest of us can choose to learn from Godfrey or accept the fact of having to learn the hard way as this cat did. So, I wish to recommend this for those ages 3-18 &+ on top of that also a five star book for such a great book. I received this book for free and in return, here's my honest rev A great book for young kids and up to earn to be grateful... A cute cat. A short story that depicts a cute cat. Good colourful illustrations. The English was not totally perfect but almost passable. The cat prays to his cat God in what appears to be a ripoff of yoga positions.

Godfrey the Cat is a story about an angry cat that always says NO when his family attempts to interact with him. In the story, the family becomes fed up with Godfrey and they leave him home alone. While Godfrey is home alone, he realizes how much he missed his family and longed for their attention. He gets very lonely and prays to the CatGod that they return home. When his prayers are answered and his family returns home, Godfrey is very playful and interactive with them. Although the character is lovable and the concept is creative, there are some parts of the story that are confusing. There were so many questions that were left unanswered, such as why was Godfrey so angry or nonchalant (not sure which emotion he intends to portray). The author should have given the readers a little insight into why Godfrey acted the way he did at the beginning of the story or enough detail for the readers to eventually figure it out. As I mentioned before, this could easily become a series and a formal introduction to Godfrey would pave the way for the entire series.

This book was an okay read for my kids. They didn't exactly like the part about the cat god. It might not be a good book for some readers who believe in only one God, although it does teach good lessons in appreciating others and treating them kind. If you don't treat people kind they might just leave. That's what happened to Godfrey. He wasn't a nice cat. His catch phrase was creative though. Punctuation also could use a little revision. Jessica D. Adams, Author
