I liked most of these recipes. Yet, as someone who has made a lot of these, I did have disagreements with some ingredients and the book time. First off, when it comes to Gumbo or Jambalaya. Never, ever use the 30 minute recipe. That shit needs time. Spices blend and become magical! I don't use chicken. But that's just me. I think fowl is foul.😁. I always use shrimp, crawdads, crab AND sausage. For shits sake, grab some flavored, slightly extravagant sausage! Crab patties? Easy peasy! Who lives in I liked most of these recipes. Course, I did eat 2 tamales today, so I may just be on a flavor overload! Good book.

Might use it for seasoning mixes I read through the book looking for some authentic recipes but was turned off by the writing style and awkward instructions. It's full of spelling errors and oddly-worded instructions, making it seem incomplete and unedited. I read through this cookbook to bookmark recipes to try later. There are no pictures and some of the wording in the instructions is odd. For example, when referring to the ingredients the author typically writes 'cook them' as opposed to just saying the specific ingredient. Many of the recipes seem pretty simple, not sure of the authenticity however. But the ingredients seem pretty common and the instructions are not complicated. Yummy I love New Orleans a fantastic place with fantastic foods. This cookbook has lots of yummy recipes. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. I love that the macro nutritional information is listed at the end of each recipe. So if you do not live in Louisiana you can experience some of the foods at home. A mini vacation for your taste buds.

An adventure for the taste buds Ma Cherie. Great cookbook. Lots and lots of recipes to try. If you like Southern food with a flair the Cajun Cookbook gives it to you. I also like the pictures of the buildings instead of all the recipes it gave it more of an adventure.

I liked most of the recipes which were well written and easy to follow. But I cannot obtain the seafood and some of the ingredients are not on my diet. That is why I only gave it a 3 star.
