Catching and heartwarming, appealing to little ones, who each have their own "special" blanket or toy. Demonstrates the power of friendship, too. Catching and heartwarming, appealing to little ones, who each have their own "special" blanket or toy. Demonstrates the power of friendship, too.

Poor Ernie the Elephant has found, much to his disappointment, that he has lost his best friend, his Teddy Bear and goes nuts looking for him! His kind mother suggests that he re-do what he did during the day in the hopes of finding him again! A cute, colorfully illustrated story great for bedtime reading – and beginner readers can read it out loud to their own stuffed friends as they’re tucked into bed!

Cute book The story is cute and it's a nice reminder to retrace your steps when you have lost something. My 6 yr old really likes it and we've read it several times. I think the rhyming is a bit clumsy in places and I don't appreciate how the mouse yells at the dad elephant. Other than that it is a cute book. My children love these little books. They thoroughly enjoy each and every story, as if they are all unique and individual without any cause for similarity among them. Even though sometimes, they might seem tedious and repetitive to me as a parent, I do enjoy being able to read short-stories to my children that are clean and respective.

Story focuses on a problem experienced by many small children, misplacing things. Ernie is upset because he cannot find Plum, his purple teddy bear who helps Ernie sleep. Ernie tries to retrace his steps with the help of his best friend, Martin Mouse. In the process of looking throughout the house, Martin yells at Ernie's dad. The story simply glosses over that, making no effort to show children that was wrong and Martin should have apologized. I must point out that there are misspellings and editing errors and that the rhymes are forced in some spots. For parents and caretakers of young children who are always losing things, this short tale might be helpful.

Ernie the little elephant has a big heart, but Henry likes to tease and sing, “I am the best, best, best.” Soon nobody wants to play with him, but Ernie has a plan. A nicely different version of the hare and the tortoise story ensues, with cool bright pictures showing the story as bragging Henry’s pace begins to slow. The tale is told in fairly rhythmic rhyme, and a nice lesson is offered in the conclusion; it’s not enough to stop someone else from teasing; you’ve got to avoid teasing yourself as Ernie the little elephant has a big heart, but Henry likes to tease and sing, “I am the best, best, best.” Soon nobody wants to play with him, but Ernie has a plan. Pleasing, short and fun to share with pre-schoolers and other young children. Disclosure: It was free so I bought it.

My girls liked the story... ...but the editing was pretty poor. As the parent reading this to small children I was disappointed at finding misspelled words, words missing entirely, improper punctuation and other grammatical errors. I wouldn't have been fond of knowing a slightly older and more advanced child reading this independently and learning grammar from this example. I only gave 3 stars because of my children enjoying the story. I would have given less. My girls liked the story... ...but the editing was pretty poor. From an adult perspective, the art was very clip "artish". Some of the rhymes didn't flow very well. But I still like the poetry part and it is a darn cute story and I like the theme. I forget stuff all the time so I am sure everybody can relate to that. From an adult perspective, the art was very clip "artish". Some of the rhymes didn't flow very well. Story was ok The story was ok but too short and had a word missing. My children were bothered by how quick the story ended.

Big elephant hugs My sons enjoyed this book. They said their favorite part is when he found his bear and that it was a fun ebook. They loved his big smile. :)

An elephant that lost his beloved teddy and has to search for it. The story and illustrations were good. The ending needed to have a moral. Some of the wording (rhymes) were forced.
