Because the premise is so strange, I had to try this one. It's just as odd as I thought it would be. Too far fetched for me. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Solificato and Netgalley for this ARC. This was a really funny read. I cringed at some of others misfortunes while laughing out loud at their strife! Having experienced some hilarious, sad and gross toilet stories in my travels I could relate well. A unique but fun read.

This was better than I expected and I kept reading, wondering what new fiasco the author could possibly get himself into next. Yes, it's all about his experiences around the world with showers and toilets, but it was strangely compelling. Although I am a completely different type of traveler, I was curious to read this book for the different emphasis. Those misadventures in cheap travel do have a very strong biological component, but the stories as such do not reflect more than that. I was proved wrong in my search for something off the beaten path, as the book does not stand out from its literary/travel writing aim: it doesn´t bring anything valuable in terms of travel writing, travel memories and even toilets and showers knowle Although I am a completely different type of traveler, I was curious to read this book for the different emphasis. Except that, indeed, some of them are not working. Disclaimer: Book offered by the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Thought it’d be more about different bathrooms in different culture and how they evolved. It wasn’t. Stories about the authors BMs and digestive issues while dealing with different bathrooming situations as he traveled. Not a recommend, glad it was free.

Fun read and particularly enjoyable for those of us who travel.

This book was pretty kitschy, which you can pretty much tell from the title. I love travel and everything about it so this appealed to me. I love the cover and subject matter was definitely unique. I did find some of these tales quite funny and others were somewhat educational, but overall this fell somewhat short of my expectation.s. Clearly this man loves to travel and has a unique perspective on things so I would definitely pick up something else from him. A nice change of pace.
