Good For A YA series...but... So I read the entire God & Guardian series in one go. I loved the plot, the characters, and the world, but what I didn’t enjoy was weird inconsistencies . Then we’ve got prince Jack, Rose, & Emma! Why!! Why have these “normal” earth names amongst Firan, Erzion, Etc!! Then the modern day colloquialism “get a room” I need to get laid!” References to modern time “meet at 3:30” instead half past 3, these little things bothered me throughout the series. And finally get an editor or fire the one you have. I don’t need a whole paragraph over explaining the feelings and angst of 1 character.

Sorry to say, but DNF during the first book. Very "first novel" in writing style, characters and plotting, which ended up putting me off. Sorry to say, but DNF during the first book. Very "first novel" in writing style, characters and plotting, which ended up putting me off.

This romantic fantasy series has blown me away, it really is such a powerful read that I could not stop reading till the last line of the grand finale was read. The battle of good against evil is a massive one fought through great sword and sorcery by dragons, dragon-shifters, snow leopards, a wolf-shifter, all kinds of fae warriors, ice witches, the guardians and the goddesses and of course humans all fighting to rid their kingdom, that of Avalonia from the evil of Erebos, the Lord of Chaos him This romantic fantasy series has blown me away, it really is such a powerful read that I could not stop reading till the last line of the grand finale was read. This is a series which I can easily see being made into a film and which in my opinion compares well with Lord of the Rings in all its intricacies, the beautiful world building of the Eight Kingdoms and its very charismatic characters. All who love the fight between good and evil cannot miss out on this great quartet! There is a lot of love, loyalty and courage however there is also evil, betrayal and deceit vying one against the other throughout this heart-wrenching series. Enjoy, I know I did.

I have read each and every book in this series and fell in love with it more and more each book. Watching Diamond and Hugo go from untried teens to leaders that were needed so badly for the war that they had to contend with. The evil these two have to combat is truly frightening. The damage these gods can do keeps you reading to see what will happen. What will Diamond and Hugo do to combat this? Being able to buy all the books at once like this, not having to wait for the next one, well, how cool is that! I love when a favorite author of a series comes out with boxsets because it means I can go from one to the next no hassle. And when a series reads as smoothly as this one, creating an "I need the next book now!" feeling, you want a boxset to be able to do just that. Buy this boxset. You'll love the story. You'll love the characters and the way they grow, and you'll love the writing style of this wonder new author. Such a Wonderfully Done Series! Very Very Well Done, Karen Tomlinson!

I truly enjoyed reading this series. There was tons of magic, action and love and did I mention dragons?!! Bad people and gore were all over the place too. The friendships that developed were charming. So many good things! While I enjoyed it there were some things that annoyed me- some blaring typos and poorly written sentences (where you’re trying to figure out who is this referring to?!). Those got worse as the series progressed and I understand indie authors tend to rush their books out more to meet demand. They weren’t on every page but when they were there they seemed big. Then the plot was pretty predictable. I’ve actually read this exact same story just with different characters in a different world. This one is really random, but as a very experienced equestrian there were a couple random horse moments where I thought- that’s not how it works (you don’t pull on the reins and ask a horse to go forward). And also, I often wonder how did they get and feed an army full of horses and then when they don’t need them they just disappear? After all these complaints I would still recommend this to a friend who loves to read this genre

Excellent This has been an excellent series. This rating should have been lower due to the many errors, but I enjoyed it and the writing was so well done, I rounded it up to 5 stars. The story was a little off to me in the last book. I didn’t care to know anything about Jack’s potential, or lack of romance. I didn’t forgive him as easily as Diamond did. That was something that was brushed off way to easily. I’m not sure I care to read a book with him as protagonist. But I do want to learn whatever I can about Diamond and Eryanth. I am sad to leave them behind. This author really pulled the feels from you, and there were many. I know I will read this series again.

A half-fae, half- human girl, Diamond, isn’t accepted anywhere. Her father kept her safe in a human town. Tragedy strikes and an evil lord hunts her. Helped by her uncle and the Fae Queen’s guard, she faces, kindness, hurt, love, betrayal, fear and danger, but why? Her story goes far beyond her humble beginnings, as well as the story of the other main character, Hugo. I enjoyed the evolving stories a great deal, moved at a good pace and had unexpected moments to add interest. I was annoyed by so A half-fae, half- human girl, Diamond, isn’t accepted anywhere. If you like fantasy chronicles then this is for you. With a whole host of fantastic characters and a great storyline, it is difficult to put down. There is something for everyone, war, fights, romance, even death, good v’s evil. Will evil triumph in the Enid or what. Karen ( I feel like I can call her by her first name after reading the omnibus) weaves a fantastic story, with edge of your seat suspense at times and I even she’d a tear or two. Would highly recommend it.

A great read. This is wonderful story of love, hate, determination, greed, lust, and every other emotion you can throw into it. Diamond and Hugo fight for their lives and souls, the lives and souls of their friends and for the lives and souls of every person on their earth. With the aid of magic, dragons, goddesses friends, family and love they fight the god of Chaos himself. It is a long battle and a must read to find out all that happens to everyone.

Finished? Not Hardly I just read all four books in this set in two days...Aside from the trivial breaks for food and the other mundane things that people do, I found myself engrossed in the story. A powerful and compelling story of ultimate evil opposed by two individuals who embraced their destiny. A great read.
