This is now my guilty pleasure. It’s not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea but nailed it for me. If you'd told me back at Bound Spirit I'd be giving book 2 a full 5 stars I'd have laughed! But there you have it I loved this. Like really loved this.. Even now months later I can’t get this outta my head and waiting for book 3! Where are all my fangirls at?? This need more love! Book 1 ✮✮✮ I was a wee bit harsh on book 1 but I stand by my review. There was too many similarities to not be angry on TVD’s behalf. This sequel changed all that! Please take that warning in the blurb seriously, I still wouldn’t recommend this as a YA even though the characters are 17. Nolan's sexual exploits replaced the descriptive torture( that was toned down) to make this something I still wouldn’t let my teenager read. I however, am a grown ass woman so it was all peachy for me! I loved that the sexual tension stepped up and we didn’t have to wait for book 5 to get there! now stepped up a level a little here folks don’t get overly excited Of course as usual I had forgotten all the guys names etc etc so this is for my own benefit when book 3 releases… Donovan – the dark winged asshole Nephilim Connor – the wolf shifter who rarely speaks Felix – the nerdy ghost Kaleb – The bookish light Nephilim Nolan– The sex obsessed Vampire Loving the mix of supernatural’ s and Callie’s powers are getting stronger - again freaking glad we didn’t have to wait 5 books for that. She is still vulnerable and the story is slow (the events covered are only a 2 week period) but the angsty relationship drama was top notch! I’m a little depressed now I have to wait for book 3. I really hope it is the promised summer 2019 release My only pet peeve was the repetition of the "praying for patience” face everyone seemed to make all the time could really do with that joke leaking into book 3...

I get why the author wanted Nolan and Donovan as lovers as well but I have to say that I’m not a fan. Also I really hope the next book is bit more fast paced in the sense that things happen. And by thing I mean romantic development. And by romantic development I mean I WANT RELATIONSHIPS

Whoa, what a book! 4.5 stars. Lots of new revelations. Twists and turns. Deep talks. Sexual tension. Thrilling fight scenes that gave me goosebumps. Scenes that made my heart heavy with sorrow. An action-packed installation. This book picks up right where the previous one left off. The guys are keeping an eye on Callie. Mildred talks to Callie about her powers and according to her, Callie's power is almost equivalent to a goddess'. Apparently, the storm that Callie creates when she's high on emotion doesn't even scratch the surface of her power. Just what every girl needs to hear. If pushed too far, Callie may just end up destroying half the town and Gina, Nolan's ex isn't helping either. Callie also starts noticing new things, like how attractive the guys are. Getting over social awkwardness is one thing but relationships are a whole new box of trouble. Maybe we'll just focus at one thing at a time for now. So I really can't write a review without giving away any spoilers. I also don't wanna give away any because this book was so damn good. You guys should seriously go in blind, it's worth it. Almost every chapter has new revelations. Personalities like Nolan are the reason I love vampires in the first place. Not only him, every character is fleshed out properly and meticulously crafted with complex personalities and backgrounds. Everyone has their own struggle. I love how we can actually see characters making mistakes here. (Okay, this is a kind of a spoiler. So in that scene where everyone shut Kaleb down even if they were the ones who encouraged him to express himself more was honestly very refreshing. Like most of the times, characters generally act understandingly but that didn't happen here. They made mistakes. They hurt him. That was honestly very surprising to me and I loved it.) The author steers clear of obvious solutions and clichés in a lot of instances and I was pleasantly surprised. Also,I want to say that I love how Callie is actually scared of fire. Like recently, I've been reading a lot of books where a lot of people wield fire as their main element because it is the most passionate and intense element and stuff. Here, I feel like Callie favours air and water, another example of how the author trashed my expectations. So yeah... I'm not telling anything else. Go in blind. This book will seriously amaze you. Happy reading!

I'm so feeling this series... I can say the author is slowly, tooth aching slowly building this story within the last two books, ( so FYI this is a slow burn series) however this storyline is so good and sweet it makes your toothache. I just love the dynamics of these characters and the interactions of the heroes and the heroine. Overall Rating: 5* ~ A Must Read I'm so feeling this series... I was waiting for this book for some time because I like to start new series with at least two books out. I read fast and get confused with the details if the books are too far apart. I'm happy to be be proven wrong! I love all the characters and fell in love with Connor - one of the guys of the harem - since the beggining of the first book but I have to say that since that scene of Donovan e Nolan dancing with Callie I'm happy with the motto #whychoose! The book is really well written and the characters are amazing! I Need book three like yesterday!

I am not good at waiting for series I really enjoy.....UGH Okay back to the review. This book I did enjoy, I feel like there were a little more slow parts in here which made my mind wander more than the first book. This book still had a lot going on which made it so you were never bored for that long if a slow part came up. There was a shock of an MM being mentioned, I won't say by who, but I will say if this was solely an MM book I would definitely ship these two together. This will be the first RH that has some MM elements in it that I have read, there wasn't any kissing or anything by the guys, it was just talked about by them, and you know that one of the characters is bi. I will say Callie is still a strong heroine, she goes through a lot, and I feel like she does the right amount of keeping things to herself without whining about it, and also put some of her burden on the guys (even though they have just as much going on in their lives as her). I also love her internal dialogue, it is very relatable, if you have 5 really hot best friends that you are trying not to show you like a little more than friends, as well as trying not to you know destroy a town.. haha I will say the writing of this series is addictive, their friend group is amazing I love the banter that all of the guys have between themselves as well as with Callie. Kaleb and Callie's chemistry did show up a little more in this book, than the first book which I enjoyed since we didn't see much of that originally. I do wish there was more romance going on, this is like the longest tease of my entire life. You can tell that Callie and the guys are starting to have a little more than friendship feelings towards one another. I hope that in book 3 we at least get some romance happening, I mean rumors are spreading about them all being in a relationship, lets make it happen! haha I will say that there is a lot of talk about suicide, mainly used as a bully tactic by Gina, to me it was a little much after awhile, like I get that Callie can never die, but it just felt like it was a little much. Other than that this book was great, it still has all the elements I love in a book and it was easy to read. I really enjoyed all of the pop culture references in here to Avatar the Last Airbender, the Marvel universe, DC, some Twilight (mainly in the first book). I think that it really makes it that more relatable. Can't wait to read the third book.. will try and read it slower, knowing that the next book won't come out until later this year.... (ugh I hate waiting for books in a series I love)

If you enjoyed Bound Spirit, than you will love Free Spirit. I feel a lot more happens in this book, like a lot. I feel the pace is about the same if not a tad slower. But I will say that I devoured this in one setting, I could not put it down. Free Spirit finds Callie knowing who and what she is. She is trying to get a handle on this dangerous power she has. She is training with her guys while she learns about being a witch and her origins from her aunt. Also add in her dealing with the abuse h If you enjoyed Bound Spirit, than you will love Free Spirit. Cassie is a fighter and watching her grow and deal with everything had me cheering for her. Things escalate with Nolan's wacked out ex of a witch who has declared war on Callie. Callie's response is bring it on!! So love it. But the witch fights dirty, and seeing how Callie deals with it, was a good way. But I have to say I just wished she would beat the crap out of her lol. The guys, loving them so much. Loving it that we get to know them more. Callie spends more time individually with them and it strengthens their relationships. We know how they feel, more about their pasts, personalities and how different they are. Loved the point of views as well. They in turn learn more about her past, and each take steps to help her as best as they can. The ending was freaking crazy good. Yes there is a cliffhanger, but it is setting up for book three perfectly. I however will be waiting impatiently to find out what happens next. If you haven't read this series, start with Bound Spirit, it will set up the characters and the plot to better understand Free Spirit. Don't miss out on this series, you will not be disappointed.

The truth comes out! So much goes on in this book! Gina's antics escalate, Callie finds out what being a spirit witch really means and there are a few chapters with some of the guy's point of view which helped endear them more to me. 4.5 enjoyable stars This book might be about Callie and the guys, but I'm so here for Donovan and Nolan 😍 I'll probably end up shipping them more than anyone else in the book because two hot alpha bi males hot for each other is my weakness, but I still love them all equally and ship them with Callie, they all have great chemistry.

This was not good. I am so confused and there is way too many things going on and the characters are not well developed enough. There is also too much sexual tension and nooooo follow through. I feel like I've had sexual whiplash and I'm not happy about it. I will try to read the third one, but I won't be excited about it. :( This was not good. Round 2! Fight! Callie has escaped Hell. Neither baseball bats, nor knives, nor fire can stop her. So this stupid binding spell? Pshhh. It may not be a piece of cake but it certainly isn't anything more than another speed bump. And since she has a giant wolf, a vampire, 2 nephilim and a ghost on her side, she's golden. Even the Mean Girls version of Sabrina the Teenaged Twit can only throw her off stride for a moment. Because she's finding out things, not just about herself, but the guys, too. Co Round 2! Fight! Conner's dad is a mongrel ass, Donovan has an interesting family tree, Kaleb isn't always perfect, Nolan needs a donor that won't become another Gina and Felix is starting to feel lost in a world he can't connect with anymore. She'd get right on taking care of all of that, except this stupid binding spell that's leaking magic? Yeah, if she pushes too far it can go nuclear. The Chernobyl version of Spirit Witch Unbound. Spoilers ahead. So, the first book really mimicked The Veil Diaries big time. This one branched away more. There's still teen girl meanness, school official snark, a ghostly sidekick, a guardian family member that knows and imparts family history and a few other things. But, it also started forging a new path. It distinguished itself. The Gina issue is a little much. The guys are falling apart instead of bonding closer, although after that epilogue maybe that will change in book 3? Warnings, if m/m bothers you, you may want to quit now. Two of the friends have participated in some heavy petting. Doesn't bother me but know it's not everyone's thing. I'm trying to not give full spoilers here so I think I'm going to leave it at this: It more than carried it's weight as a sequel. It expanded where it needed to, leaving just enough mystery to keep the readers wanting more and has proven it's not a rip-off clone. Now, just brush up the handful of typos and grammatical errors and she's good to go.

It was really worth the wait tbh. There were a few twists, but honestly I wasn't all that surprised, but it was written well enough that it didn't matter that I wasn't surprised. With the whole thing in the woods at the trail I was sort of surprised but Con also hinted at something as well. BUT I was surprised by the sexual bromance (not in a bad way) but it fits so much that I'm also not too surprised because it just seems like that's how it should be. Now the ending is a cliff hanger that left me wanting to pull some hair but the cliff hanger also made sense...so now I'm like a walking oxymoron and can't tell if I should be surprised or not, angry or not....lol.

There is a lot that goes on in this book and for the most part, it is fairly fast paced. I am really enjoying the story but it could have had a little better of a flow. We had some events that showed up that seems a little out of sync and info dump feeling. Mostly I think that could be improved by a little more editing. Overall though I'm entertained and plan on reading the next book. There is a lot that goes on in this book and for the most part, it is fairly fast paced. Free Spirit was unexpected. I knew that I'd enjoy it, and I knew that I'd probably binge my way through it as I tend to do with any new release that I've eagerly waited for. However, there were definitely some fun surprises. First of all, I'd just like to say that we had better get used to some cold showers or thinking about that one obnoxious image that's sure to turn yourself off. Faster than I expected, Wills dives into teasing us with little bits of tension, scenes that hint at the action we'll get to throw ourselves into after the next few books. I, for one, think these little moments are just building up great expectation of things to come, but there will be many a reader swooning or bristling with frustration because we can't just have all the steaminess when we really want it....NOW. Now, the pacing felt a little slower book one, but I didn't feel at all like my attention was in danger of wavering. The stakes are getting higher as Callie's magic fights the binding around her and the guys' become more and more committed to her being a part of their lives. The little dips that we get into the guys' perspectives are very telling, and I love that we're seeing the progression of their friendships and otherwise relationships through both Callie and their points of view. In short (though, honestly, I can never do anything short), this book should be described as "a lot of sh*t happens". There's delicious character development all over the place, and, though he's still not my "best boy", I have to give a round of applause to Kaleb. He was the one I was least drawn to after book one, but he's definitely growing on me. We get this little sparks of the "real" Kaleb, the one who has dreams, moods, goals, and a backbone that don't coincide with the Mr. Perfect mask he wears, and I like what I'm seeing so far. Connor and Donovan both have some big unveiling going on too, as us readers (and Callie, a little bit more slowly) learn more about their backgrounds and the darkness they each fight. I'm kind of dying to get to know Connor more; especially as one of Callie's "called" wolves, I find his character fascinating. We get enough insider information to satisfy me for now, but I'm hoping we'll see him start to open up more WITH Callie and not have a lot of the insider moments restricted to his chapters or conversations with the guys. A lot of best boy material there. Felix is fabulous, and of course Nolan, my best boy, is equally wonderful. Both of these characters make my heart happy and hurt in the best ways...they both have this loneliness to them that makes me want to hug them. Each of the guys have some kind of vulnerability, but, for whatever reason, theirs strikes me the most so far. Overall, Free Spirit just sucked me in. Callie's magic is interesting, and there are so many little mysteries and issues revolving around it that my attention is just totally snared- with every thing that we start to understand, we learn there's still more to uncover. I love a complex puzzle, and Wills has certainly crafted an awesome one here.

Delivered to my kindle a little after midnight on it's release day, I stayed up waiting and read until nearly 5am with absolutely no regrets! Even better than the first, Free Spirit continues Callie's amazing story as she discovers who she is and the supernatural world that she lives in. Now knowing who she is and some of the power that she possesses, Callie begins trained with the guys to learn how to protect herself and learning about her origins and powers with her aunt. But even though she is surrounded by new friends and family and her years of abuse by her father are behind her, her life is getting crazier than ever. Nolan's crazy witch ex is targeting Callie, and it's beginning to escalate past the point of simply spreading rumors. Whoever killed Felix's family seems to be back and after Callie. And possibly worst of all, Callie is starting to notice that her best friends are really attractive and feelings start getting a little confusing. This book picked up right where the last left off leaving no guessing to what happens in between. Bound Spirit ends with a POV from Donovan and with Free Spirit we start with the same scene from Callie's POV which I loved! There were a few chapters in this book from the guys' POV. This is my favorite writing style because the story is mostly seen from the FMC's POV, but we still get glimpses of the guys and how they are feeling and reacting to the same events as her. Another thing I loved about this book was Callie's ptsd. A lot of books that deal with an abused character either show her very meek throughout the series or have some insane recovery where all the sudden by book 2 she's fine and has no triggers. Free Spirit shows Callie continuing to struggle with triggers while maintaining her strong persona and forcing the guys to treat her normally, not avoid ever mentioning fire or stairs. (view spoiler)[ I especially liked how Nolan took the time to consult her on Halloween party decorations to ensure nothing would trigger her, but not treating her like a wounded girl who can't discuss what scares her. (hide spoiler)] We also get to know the guys a lot better. Callie begins to take time with each of them individually and begins to learn more about their pasts and their characters. She learns about their struggles, their families and home lives, and their futures. I loved getting to learn more about them all, especially Nolan, Connor, and Donovan! The end of this book gets crazy good. Callie and the guys face off against some enemies and the result will have a huge impact on their lives. This cliffhanger gave me quite possibly the biggest book hangover I've ever had. With Free Spirit amazing me even more than Bound Spirit, I am extremely eager and beyond ready for the next book in this fantastic series!

Local witches won't help her (because leader is a basic villain with a villian/bully daughter). -End of this book Heroine magic is released because of Conner's father (Alpha) trying to kill her and Conner. -Aunt super powerful. Heroes: Kaleb-Angel -Issues with his destiny to help his friend Felix move on. -Fights demons at the end of the book. Donovan-Fallen Angel -Decided to fight demons at the end of the book to save MC aunt even though he is in training. (Because Felix) must remain a secret. Nolan- Vampire -Starts drinking blood from heroine. -Find out how about his curse from evil witch ex-girlfriend. -Sister a demon. Felix- Ghost -Doesn't want to move on. Connor -Werewolf -Over the top abuse scene by his Father. (Didn't think it was necessary to the extent it was described. I felt like hinting at his abuse or maybe some flash backs would have been more effective.) -Pack has an issue with him not being racist against other supernaturals and pick them over his pack. -Called to serve heroine. Villians Nolan's ex is a witch tries to get heroine to kill herself (which is just over the line messed up and it seems like everyone just goes along with it. Thinking the worst of the heroine.) People and authority don't believe heroine and decide to blame her for incidents for no reason. (Villains are really one sided in this book with no redeeming qualities. It makes them flat in my opinion. I can't help but roll my eyes every time she interacts with one.) There are a couple of side characters introduced. Conner's ex/friend female wolf who is on friendly terms with Conner. Pace is a slow burn romance with no sex but kissing and some light fondling has happened at this point. The only interesting part was the end where half of them had to fight demons while the other half fought the Alpha of the local pack. Overall this RH is was boring for most of the book with over the top villains and people that are not realistic or relatable. Nolan's history and the ending scene were the most interesting parts. It seems like the demons and the Alpha took the credit for killing Felix. Not sure which one did it.

A good slow burn rh I put off reading this book 2 in the bound spirit series. I honestly can't tell you why. I'm sure I could go back to my review of book 1 and figure it out but, meh. Whatever it was I kept scrolling past this on my kindle and going no. Whatever the problem was, it don't bother me for book 2. Whatever the problem was, it don't bother me for book 2. The relationships are developing at at good pace, you are encountering decent lower level foes as the story builds to whatever the big bad is going to be. There are a couple of little things I don't love how they are done, I think the virgin thing is played out, and it creeps me out a little when you have a virgin, especially a severely abused virgin, going into an RH type of situation, but it would be hard for the FMC to be anything but a virgin with her back story, so I'll give that one a pass. There is a scene involving the administration at the school and I think that could have been handled a little differently both in the aunt's response and in the sort of realization that of course it was going to go that way because the same power that got them in that mess would result in the administration having no other response but the one they had. But really, those are my only complaints. I'm excited for book 3. I'm perfectly content with the fact that there is so time between books. I know there is a push to get books out every couple of weeks or within a month or two of the last release, but this book is long, and the characters and the plot are being well developed, if this was being pushed out quickly then we would be getting a story with a good idea but that isn't executed well. I think with book 2 under my belt I'm anticipating all of the current plot holes like what happened in the one battle are left open on purpose to be explained later so I would definitely recommend continuing this series or picking it up if you read the reviews for book 1 and wanted to see what people thought of book 2 before committing.

I'm really enjoying this series so far in the fact it's an interesting and well-written YA with paranormal elements, secrets and a group of friends that grow together. Yes, it is going to become a Reverse Harem which I'm also currently into right now but it's a very slow burn which means the relationship really become developed first as friends before there is anything physical. It is a somewhat predictable YA and a paranormal romance, so it's not necessarily the best book every written, but it I'm really enjoying this series so far in the fact it's an interesting and well-written YA with paranormal elements, secrets and a group of friends that grow together. I also appreciate that Wills hasn't "cured" Callie of her PTSD. Rather, she is very slowly trying to heal from the pain she endured in her past. Although not as detailed as in the first book when we are first learning her background, Callie has several moments in this book where she has to fight not to panic, and is still having nightmares. This makes it more realistic, as it takes time to heal. Everyone does so in different ways, sure, but you won't be "over it" in just a couple weeks after meeting new friends. The characters really grow and open up to each other in this second book which is exactly what is needed in a second installment of a series to make the characters stay interesting and relevant. This is also difficult to do when you have 6 main characters that all need to be continuously progressing. I feel like Wills is so far doing a great job of this and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Book 2 begins exactly where the last one ended, but with different POVs, which is very satisfying to read! I loved this book even more than the previous one because it goes further into the paranormal and the boys backgrounds. It’s also great that it is a slow burn, but it doesn’t hold back on steam. Also, I love that it might have mm interaction and that all characters are given the same importance. Overall opinion of this series: There’s a nice balance of paranormal story line, strong characters, triggers and emotional backgrounds. All that is wrapped in a fun steamy romance / reverse harem group. Negatives: My only critique is that the big action/story development that usually happens by the end of every book feels a bit rushed and abrupt. I wished that all the awesome development / big reveal would be a bit more diluted, or at least hinted at, instead of dropped like a bomb in the end of books 1 and 2.

I don’t even know where to start! This is not my genre. I decided to read Book 1 and was completely drawn into this great story! I was so upset that I had to wait a matter of days for Book 2!! That’s quite a big thing for me. I’m an avid reader and totally soak up books so if I don’t have the whole series, I won’t start until all are available if I can possibly help it. However, I never dreamed I’d love this author’s writing. The way everything flows and interacts is simply amazing! No wonder H. I don’t even know where to start! This is not my genre. All I can say is that this is definitely worth reading, no matter what your genre. This is just too great to miss! Can’t wait until the next book come out this summer, even though I don’t like to read my books until they’re all in print, I will acquiesce for H. A. Wills anytime! At 72, having hardly ever read but a few pages of this type of book, I’m now a definite fan of H.A. Wills, yay! I can finally expand my reading into her books ONLY :)

Excellent continuation of the storyline With this, the second book of The Bound Spirit series, the author has another hit. This book picks up immediately after the end of book one, which should definitely be read first, and the plot is fast with quite a few surprises. Characters are well developed, the editing is well done, and, while the story is by no means done, this does not end on a cliffhanger. This is a slow burn RH, but the heat is definitely higher in this book than book one. Instead, this book is more focused on the relationships between characters, and the how the characters help each other to develop. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys excellent writing, and I very much look forward to the next in this series.

Great read Callie and her guys are back and finding out more about Spirit Witches. You get to have some more POV shifts to the guys and understand more of their lives- Connor's pack and Nolan's family dynamic for starters. You also get to see some growth and development in each relationship with Callie. This is still understandably a slow burn RH, as Callie has little to no experience with how others should interact with each other. Its was nice seeing more and more. Some parts became slow and repetitive (I'm indestructible and not a victim), but it was at least relatable. I wouldn't believe this as well if Callie just immediately got over her abuse and trauma and bullying in what has been about a month of getting to know they guys. I cannot wait to see more development with her and her guys. That epilogue though... wow!!! Hurry up summer :)

This series is enjoyable enough that it’s worth a second read, earning it 5 Stars. Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books... 1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future. 2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author. 3 stars... I really like this series, it’s one that can be read multiple times. I feel like this is a NA series even though our characters are still in high school. Everything so far has been quite innocent, ya know kissing and a bit of touching but that’s about it. The sexual tension between them all is smoking and I can’t wait until they all take the plunge!! The boys are continuously growing closer to Callie and she is obviously attracted to them all. Free Spirit did not disappoint! I mean yes, the beginning was a teeny tiny slow-going, but I think I mostly thought that because in comparison to book one, it wasn’t as edgy or shocking. We learned a lot more about the supernatural world in Free Spirit which is what I thought book one slightly lacked. The mystery revolving around Callie’s powers went in a completely unexpected direction and I LOVED it. H.A. Wills’ creativity level was cranked on full blast. The boys – swoon! No offense to Callie, but I’d totally be okay with a little less of her POV and more of the guys’. With the exception of Donovan, who is one of my favs, we really got to know the guys on a deeper level. I understand why it couldn’t have been all of them, because otherwise this book would have been huge (not that I would have complained). I especially loved getting to know more about Connor, our stoic, quiet, and sometimes moody werewolf. He’s got a tragic family history like Callie, and I really felt for him. I love the connection between Connor and Callie. It’s unlike the ones Callie has with the other guys, not more or less, just different. This series is so good! Although I was hoping for a little more steam between Callie and her guys in Free Spirit, I’d take slow and steady relationship-building over instalove any day. This book was provided by the author for a honest review.

More of Callie and the guys 4 Stars Book two picks up where book one left off. I am keeping this spoiler free because spoilers suck. Callie learns more about herself and her new found witchiness.
