"Helpful Adjectives for Fiction Writers," by Valerie Howard, is a collection of synonyms to help you to grow as a writer. When you're working on a writing project, and you want to describe a personality trait, you can look it up in Howard's book without googling the Internet. This book comes in handy for people with English as a 2nd language. Valery created an entry of topics as a starting point to search for synonyms. When you're working on a writing project, and you want to describe a personality trait, you can look it up in Howard's book without googling the Internet. This book comes in handy for people with English as a 2nd language. Valery created an entry of topics as a starting point to search for synonyms. She has dived each main topic into subcategories, and corresponding synonyms, to find the right word for your story. You can find a wide range of topics, like Affluence, Age, Attractiveness, Brightness, Capacity, Cleanliness, Color, Emotion, Height & Length, Opacity, Personality Trait, etc. Some words are new to me. But if you're like me, you can find most synonyms on the Internet, which I do from time to time. But if you're not a skilled computer user, or if you're not online and don't want to browse through a thick dictionary, the book is a valuable asset for your Kindle library. It's a collection of useful synonyms to help you grow as a writer. But, as I said, you can find most synonyms online. And I'm always online...

Good reference book This was a little less organized in my opinion but still a good reference book when one wants to use unique verbs to describe things. Once again the author makes lists of adjectives and their counterparts for easy reference. Quick read through but probably best used as an on-the-go basis for writing projects.

Just a list of words Again, I'm disappointed with a book by this author. This "book" doesn't shed any light on how the words could be used. Anyone can google synonyms and write them down. I seriously regret buying these books. Waste of time and money. Just a list of words Again, I'm disappointed with a book by this author. Helpful book to have A great book when you want to enliven your writing. Everyone should own a copy. It would keep even ordinary correspondence intrereting

I’m not sure what I entirely thought this would be but it wasn’t at all helpful, instead just a thesaurus I can get for free from google.

Helpful & precise The book is very helpful with certain words at one place. Got to learn new words & brushed up on many words that I know but never used.
