**3.5 Stars** Cecilia (C.C.) is a kick butt drummer for the up and coming Lipstick Outlaws. They've paid their dues to get to where they are and where they're going, but it never felt as right as it did when they became a group. C.C. has her idiosyncrasies, and when she isn't able to fulfill one before the start of a show, she's understandably panicking. Thankfully, the day is saved when their new sound guy steps in and allows C.C. to go on with the show. C.C. has her idiosyncrasies, and when she isn't able to fulfill one before the start of a show, she's understandably panicking. Thankfully, the day is saved when their new sound guy steps in and allows C.C. to go on with the show. Dalton can admit he has a thing for C.C., and has since meeting her, but he's sure someone like her wouldn't notice him. After helping her stave off a potential panic attack, the two begin a friendship that steadily grows as they hang out while touring. He's used to people wanting something because of who he is, but C.C. doesn't know his real last name nor what he could have to offer aside from being the great guy he is. When C.C.'s family once again begins putting pressure on her, as in trying to arrange more blind dates for her, she does what she must to make them stop by saying she has a boyfriend. The thing is, she doesn't have to create the man because she finds herself describing Dalton as her other half. And soon, pretend starts to feel all too real, but neither believe the other could want the same thing...a future. Will C.C.'s family accept Dalton's supposed role in her life? What about the secrets he's keeping from her, from them? Will he be able to come clean on his own or be forced to? Can these two take a chance and admit their real feelings for each other? One-click now and follow along as two people realize they both want to be so much more. **I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**

Cecilia’s Soulful Heart by Tami Franklin is the third story in Sweethearts of Country Music series. C.C. Dalton is intrigued by C.C. and would like to date her. When her family shows up to meet Dalton, he is happy to go along with the charade. I thought Cecilia’s Soulful Heart was a cute story. I enjoyed getting to know C.C. and the new sound engineer, Dalton. He has some ways to improve the band’s performances plus he likes to play video games just like C.C. (her band mates do not). I found the story to have good writing and move along at a steady pace. Cecilia’s Soulful Heart can be read as a standalone if you have not indulged in the other novels in the Sweethearts of Country Music series. Personally, I have enjoyed reading the books in order. It has given me a chance to know each member of the Lipstick Outlaws and I like how we get updates on their relationship in each new addition. C.C.’s family is a delight. They are a lively bunch that added humor to the story. As I learn more about the Lipstick Outlaw’s, I wish they were a real band (I would download their album). Don’t miss C.C.’s story in Cecilia’s Soulful Heart.

He's completely adorable, by the way. Sincere, a bit awkward, imaginative and practical both, and he thinks the world of C.C. DeVera. How the two of them move beyond "fake" to "real" in their relationship is a delightful story. The continuing progression of the band's rise on the country music scene, the developing issues with established relationships in the series, and the expectation of what might be ahead round this out for a wonderful, romantic addition to the Sweethearts of Country Music.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was a lot of fun to read and I couldn't put the book down to stop reading. The characters were well developed and there were some real issues that were dealt with and worked through. The extra characters were well introduced making me want to read the whole series. I highly recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Cecelia's soulful Heart This was another great book in this series. Loved the rapport between all the singers and the crew especially Cece. Cece and Dalton became a duo and found love they had not thought was possible. This book shows just how far you can go if you believe in what you are doing. The music was a great motivator to keep going and recording as well as writing to get where they wanted to go. This was another Free book in this series and a great read. Sweet story This was a sweet story for a fake romance. While there were two POVs, they weren’t split evenly and I wished for more from Dalton’s POV. That being said I enjoyed the characters, and C.C was real. Although I would have liked more about why she needed her sunglasses as a shield.

    C. C. Is the drummer for an all girl country band. She has anxiety and needs certain things in order for her life to go right. The new sound engineer helps her out and then a little white lie puts them together. Can they make it work with all the pressures of a band on the rise. This whole series has blown me away.

The Lipstick Outlaws are enjoying their recent success and are touring country music festivals across the US and Canada. While on tour, C.C. DeVera stays in touch with her family an Seattle. One of her sisters is getting married, and her family, though well-meaning, keeps badgering her about finding a date. Tired of being set up on blind dates, she tells them she already has a date for the wedding. Curious and excited, her family asks for a name, and she blurts out the first one that comes to mind. Dalton Gregory, the band’s new sound and light tech. Fully intending to “break up” shortly before the wedding, she doesn’t tell him about her little white lie. But then her family surprises her by coming to a show in Washington state, eager to meet Dalton. Not wanting to admit to her lie, and disappoint her family, C.C. is caught between a rock and a hard place. Thankfully, Dalton is quick to catch on, and decides to play along. For the remainder of the tour, they spend more time together so they can get to know each other better and play a convincing couple. Predictably (in the best of ways), they both develop deeper feelings for the other, but are afraid to admit it, convinced the other doesn’t reciprocate. This, combined with the ruse of their fake relationship, leads to a series of awkward encounters and misunderstandings. Both C.C. and Dalton have some issues that affect how they interact with people. I enjoyed seeing them open up to each other and build some trust and understanding. This gives them a solid foundation in friendship. C.C. also has a wonderful support system in the girls in the band and their manager. C.C.’s family is hilarious in their loud and boisterous way of caring for each other. The author does a good job at painting a picture of the family dynamic and their cultural background. I enjoyed reading about the tour and the different opportunities they encounter along the way. I actually found myself choking up a bit when the band was booked for a very special venue, which is a testament to the talent of the author in conveying these emotions. It makes me want to check out the band’s music, which isn’t possible, since they’re fictional. I guess what it comes down to is that this is a book – and series – that’ll make you want to start listening to country music! I’m hoping to pick up the other books in the series as well, that’s for sure.

And after the announcement, her family decides to come and meet Dalton at one of the locations they are playing without her knowing, once she notices them in the crowd she freaks out and It’s a race now to make sure Dalton is not left alone as he has no clue what is about to happen. Will the secrets that each of them have change the outcome to their future? Will C.C family forgive her for deceiving them? This is a great story; it talks about anxiety, fears and trusting others. Fun, witty, clean, and romantic! I absolutely loved this fake boyfriend story! The country music band and touring details were fascinating and seemed to be spot on. "...the music filled her, pushing out all her anxiety until all she felt was the primal pulse of their instruments, the echoing chant of their voices. This was what she loved. This was what she lived for. The six of them creating something together -- something unique and beautiful." "She rolled her eyes. 'Lucky for me, this isn't the movies.'" -- But it would make a great hallmark movie!!! "Poor Dalton. Trapped by Gloria DeVera. He wasn't the first, and he most likely would not be the last." "Wouldn't she do the same for him, if the situation were reversed? She would, although her motivation might be a little different. Not something C.C. would admit out loud, or even wanted to dwell on too much in her own mind, though, so she quickly set it aside." "'I think I changed my mind!' he called out after her, laughter in his voice. 'No takesies backsies!' She shouted back, climbing the steps. 'Takesies backsies? Are we in third grade?' she heard as the bus doors slid shut behind, and she couldn't keep from laughing out loud."

Cecilia's Soulful Heart is another fun story in The Sweethearts of Country Music series. I enjoyed this book because it answered questions I had about C.C.'s character. I also enjoyed getting to know her and more about her family. Warning this book might make you hungry. I also enjoyed learning about Dalton Gregory and his background and why he felt the need to change his last name. It was fun to watch the fake boyfriend for Cecilia's sister's wedding turn into something more. This sweet romantic comedy is my favorite book so far in The Sweethearts Of Country Music series. Tami Franklin is a talented author who kept me entertained from Chapter One until the end of the Epilogue. Her descriptions of C.C.'s anxiety make you want to reach out and hug her to calm her fears. Dalton faces his own demon's and tugs at your heartstrings. Put them together and they complete each other. You can't help but root for their happy ending. Add a sprinkle of friends to lovers, a dash of fake romance, and a lot of heart...this story is what you get. Cecilia, C.C., doesn’t play music for the adulation of thousands of fans; she plays for the sake of the music and the camaraderie she has with her band. Dalton seems to understand this and secretly has a crush on C.C. When he gets the chance to cover as her fake boyfriend for a big Hispanic family wedding, they both discover that sometimes there is more than they even realize. C.C. and Dalton were adorable nerds with their shared love of cribbage and playing video games. I loved his nerdy t-shirt messages, her colorful hair, and her crazy Filipino family. I’m uncomfortable when everyone stares at me, so I felt for C.C. with her social anxiety. And I’ve been used before in educational situations, so I understand why Dalton would have trouble trusting that someone would want him for himself and not what he could give them. Cecilia's Soulful Heart is a sweet, funny, fake relationship romance. I loved C.C. and Dalton. Both had family issues to overcome - hence C.C.'s need for a date to her sister's wedding. C.C.'s meddling family, none of whom seem to have filters, is the source of much of the humor. One reviewer said this couple was adorkable which perfectly describes them! (Wish I was so creative!). Can you successfully date someone with whom you work? C.C. and Dalton are about to find out. i was captivated from t Cecilia's Soulful Heart is a sweet, funny, fake relationship romance. I love getting to know each of the girls in Lipstick Outlaws band & CC is no exception, her close, caring, supportive family, her parents Benjamin & Gloria, all her crazy siblings & especially Lola Nena are awesome! And they make Dalton feel so welcome in their family, which he craves due to the lack of closeness from his own family. CC & Dalton are great for each other, joke with each other and support each other especially during the stressful time, sounds like the girls in the band, what a per I love getting to know each of the girls in Lipstick Outlaws band & CC is no exception, her close, caring, supportive family, her parents Benjamin & Gloria, all her crazy siblings & especially Lola Nena are awesome!
