Now only two Gods remain both sworn enemies: The followers of Morta, the Doomers and the descendants of the Goddess Annani. Books 17, 18 & 19 the Dark Operative mini-series novels are the love story of Bridget, the immortal clan’s doctor and (Victor) Turner who we’ve met in former novels, Andrew’s former boss and the only human who is allowed to know about the existence of the immortal clan. Lucas’ series continues to wow with an inventive spin on paranormal romance, keeping it fresh with her inventive storytelling and ever changing world building. These books had a turning point feel to them that may have kept the pace a bit slower but not to worry it doesn’t affect the enjoyment and readers will still get their immortal fix, an exciting side-story romance while catching up with the rest of the clan including a cameo appearance by the Goddess Annani herself. And like the rest of the books in this series they must be read in order. SUMMARY: As a black ops operative Turner has faces life and death situations on a daily basis but now with a diagnosis of cancer he’s facing certain death – unless his intuition that he’s a dormant immortal is true and he can convince the leader of the clan to allow him to try to transition. He’s got one ace in the whole his new love interest is the clan’s hot blooded, fiery redheaded doctor. Bridget has lived a long time (she’ll never tell just how long) and in that time she’s only loved one male, her son. But now this sexy, intense dark operative has come into her life and he could just be the one. There’s just a few problems, he’s human, he has cancer and he could be delusional because he thinks he’s a dormant but even if he is he’s way to old to transition. In the mean time back at the keep the clan’s new village is ready to start taking residents and there’s another immortal and dormant falling in love.

One of the best series out there and I couldn’t put this one down. Turner and Bridget have been minor supporting characters in the past, but now is their time to shine and do they ever. The development of their relationship, as well as the side stories of Robert and Sharon and the other clan business just makes this novel so much more intense. I like the fact that they are “older” and, as we move to the conclusion of the story, that maturity plays a large role in their responses both emotionally One of the best series out there and I couldn’t put this one down. Oh dear. Not a fan of these Turner and Bridget focus books. Only liked 3 things which were any scenes with Andandur, Brundar or Julian in. Other than that we get tons of filler moments, odd conversations and scenarios along with unlikable characters and dragging plots. Lets hope the next one picks it back up.

Dark Operative A Glimmer Of Hope.( The Children Of The Gods Book 18) I am loving the series but after the build up of the last two books this was a little bit uninspiring for me. Roni's situation was unique with him being sick and let's just say that yes he does act his age. I think that the personal growth Turner has made has been nice to read about. The Clan meeting was good but I guess I was expecting this book to go allot farther into details on that subject instead of the subject of Turner A Dark Operative A Glimmer Of Hope.( The Children Of The Gods Book 18) I am loving the series but after the build up of the last two books this was a little bit uninspiring for me. We finally get to meet Eva’s immortal son, Julian, the Dr. Robert (ex-Doomer) & Sharon (Eva’s human employee) met and decided to get to know one another. Since Robert wasn’t allowed to leave the keep, because he wasn’t trustworthy yet to Kian, it was difficult for them to see each other. Their story didn’t grip me at all, they didn’t seem like they really fit together. Not impressed with this book, hoping next will be better.

Love this series! Love this series! It’s highly addictive!! Sometimes I think I need a little break of binge reading these & start to read something else. Within two or three pages of another book I find myself missing the characters, wondering how they are doing, and what happens next! I know they aren’t real people but the author makes you feel as they are! I love how this author brings in the other characters of beginning books and interacts them with the new character’s story. I'm not really feeling the love or passion between Turner and Bridget. They are so boring to me. The love scenes are boring. There is no heat to their scenes at all. I am happy for Robert and enjoy seeing him getting a shot at love. Sharon is a pistol so she would be great for him. Roni gets another shot at transitioning. Jackson is still my favorite and although we don't get to see much of him anymore, I hope we get more of him. I like this series and they have all been passionate and on fire. Book 18 Victor Turner and Bridgrt I.T.Lucas is an amazing writer. Not only do you get drawn into the storyline. You can get very emotional with the characters, feel what they feel, cry when they cry, have hope and also fears. A Cause with a Rebel Still not sold on Turner being a good person, but he's trying. Happy that he's learning to experience the love, but his motives to "help out" is selfish. By using blackmail of exposing the clan will not get Turner what he desperately needs....love that was missing from his life until Bridget came into the picture. I'd want to think that Turner and Bridget should go to Cuba for possibility that there is a cure for cancer there. Too good of some things don't last forever. No Real Glimmer for Me I have really been enjoying The Children of the Gods. This installment, however, really did nothing to advance this series. It should have been combined with one of the others. Aside from Turner's bit of excitement in South America, there wasn't any of the danger and intrigue here. Bridget still comes off as kind of whiny...and there are still so many unanswered questions. This is a paranormal romance and is the eighteenth in the Children of the God series and the second in the Dark Operative trilogy. Turner has fallen into his own trap where the fiery Doc is concerned. Both are in uncharted waters, neither have been in a relationship before. He is attempting chemo prior to the transition giving him the best odds. He is possibly to old to transition, being sick keeps you from transitioning… he is looking at death anyway he goes. I really enjoy this series. It's a good fixture of intense and funny all in one. The characters are so lovable and scary at the same time. I hope Anundar finds his mate soon. He is such a sweet guy. I also love the transformation of Brundar. He still has a way to go but it's amazing to see him open up on some level. I also enjoy Bridget and Turner together (another transformation in the process). Can't wait for the next book. I really enjoy this series. It's a good fixture of intense and funny all in one. I'm still hoping that Turner gets his wish and becomes immortal. And I'm still curious where the doomers were disappearing to in Book 17. It was not answered in this book. Maybe in the next book it will be revealed. I hope she brings in a storyline with that scenario too. This is a good read for anyone who read the other 17 books. Oh my...! I’m in shocked by this one. The most feared diagnosis Is Cancer. It’s has been present in very delicate, sensitive and respectful way that has brought tears to my eyes. I know how devastating it can be. I have had family died from it, but also survivors who followed their treatment. Beautiful job. I sincerely hope for the best for Turner and Bridget.

So good I really enjoy this series. I took a break from it for a while because I hate the wait in between books. I tend to do that on series that I read, not just this one. I like to read a few in a row. I am really pulling for Turner and Bridget. I love their story. Bridget deserves her happy ending and she is helping to open Turner up to his feelings.

Superior read! This is another win for Ms. Lucas . This set is so engaging to the senses. The storyline, characters and all the sexy bits no one can live off is exactly why I’m still reading it. One after the other. It’s a pleasure! I recommend all her books wholeheartedly.
