These are very easy recipes that range from lunch, dinner, and dessert. My son who is 10 and a big reader looked this over for me as well. This has piqued his interest more in cooking (he already wants to learn) and these are simpler recipes for him to learn on. He also pointed out that he really liked that the apron became the kid's superhero capes. Overall a great beginning kids cookbook to learn with mom or dad and gain confidence and create great tasting food. The illustrations are bright and fun as well. Fun Book to Interest Children in the Kitchen. My middle daughter was a very picky eater! If you plan to introduce your child to cooking--or if your child has an interest and needs a kid-friendly cookbook to try out at home--this is a fun one! The pages are loaded with easy-to-follow, easy-to-make recipes and bright, fun illustrations. Readers will find a cute book to help open the door to kitchen adventures. I would definitely recommend it as a birthday or holiday gift--or as an Easter basket stuffer. ' I received a copy of this book from the author or publisher. All opinions are my own.

Each recipe lists the ingredients needed, directions, and most have a superhero tip. The superhero tip can be possible additions or changes to the recipe, other items that go good with that recipe (like putting the Eggtastic Spaghetti on a waffle), or tips (like never pouring grease down the sink drain). The pictures of boys and girls making the recipes are bright and colorful. The back of the book explains that the author has picky eaters and found that if the children help make the food, they’re more inclined to eat the food. That’s a great idea!

With the guidance by an older sibling or adult, the child can safely learn to cook simple meals and become very efficient in culinary skills at a young age. Written for children 6-10 years of age, the amount of freedom with cooking must be determined by parent or guardian, depending on maturity of child. This is a great step in teaching a child to be conscientious and independent. The only negative I see, is the meals are not all that healthy, However, they are what most children would enjoy. Occasionally, it is okay for a meal to lack some nutrition. Wouldn't most parents enjoy some sharing the preparations of meals or the contentment in knowing, if they are late, the child can fix a simple meal? I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating *I was gifted this book with no pressure to post a positive review. This is my honest review.

She says she's not sure about the rice soup. We're Jamaican, so we've never heard of it. But that reasons enough for me to want to try it. (On my own) You can tell how much I enjoyed reading this one, right? Because I loved it.

What I Loved: My daughter is obsessed with cooking. She has her kitchen accessory bucket and her aprons. She loves to cook and bake. It has kid-friendly recipes that are easy for a child to make and they are delicious! How I Felt: The Recipes: There is a great variety of recipes for a child to choose from. There are entrees, side dishes, desserts, and a beverage. The names of these are adorable and connect the title of the book with the recipes. Here are a few: Bam! Beef Stew, Mega Mac and Cheese, and Crime Fighter’s Cookie Fluff. The Illustrations were a lot of fun. They are bright and colorful and show a child and parent in the kitchen making the recipe featured on that page. I would have liked to see a better image of the food being made. Some pages had a great illustration that was very easy for my daughter to understand, while others were not very easy to see. I had to explain what the food would be for those items. Our Experience: So my daughter went through the Be a Superhero in the Kitchen as soon as we received it to identify the recipes she wanted to make first. She picked the Colossal Bacon and Bean Sidekick, the Amazing Pudding Parfaits, and Crime Fighter’s Cookie Fluff. We have made two of the three recipes now and I found that the ingredient lists are parent and budget-friendly. The ingredients are easy to come by and I found that we already had a lot of the ingredients in our cabinets! The instructions were easy to follow for my daughter and she had so much fun making the food. Finally, and most importantly, it was Delicious! Overall, Be a Superhero in the Kitchen is a great way to introduce little ones to a cooking book. With colorful artwork and easy, kid-friendly recipes, it’s perfect for your little chef! To Read or Not To Read: I would recommend Be a Superhero in the Kitchen for any child that enjoys cooking, or wants to try it out! I was provided an advanced reader's copy of this book for free. I am leaving my review voluntarily. My review will post to my blog on 3/2/20. All of my reviews can be food at https://shejustlovesbooks.com/

As a reading specialist, I love giving books for baby showers or even as Christmas and birthday presents for young children. I can easily see myself adding this book and others like it into a reliable choice to share with family and friends. Love this concept! It teaches children so much about the importance of being in the kitchen and learning from people there. Reading and math can be taught using this book, too. Great job!

Great for children The recipes are easy and fun for my 8 year old. So far the Mac and cheese Pizza is his favorite. Their was a very conscious effort to include children with physical disabilities, and of a diverse cast, and I appreciate that. My favorite part by far is the superhero tips that encourage my son to play with the recipies to discover what he likes best. Helping to reinforce a love of cooking and innovation.

This is a wonderful book for children to either cook on their own or with a favorite adult. Each recipe contains easy to follow instructions, few ingredients and "Superhero tips" which I thought was a great idea. The recipes cover dinners to desserts and also a punch. Great idea to cook supper for parents or relatives on special occasions to show off the children's cooking skills. Highly recommend this book. Would make a great gift.
