Jesse continues his attempts to bring peace to his area of responsibility, but is always deterred by the cruel mentality of the bad guys! It is one exciting episode after the other, as the peace and tranquility of his area is always at risk!
Most definitely another five star masterpiece by Mr. Wheeler, as Sheriff Jesse pulls no punches when he finds a group of outlaws busy themselves continuously trying to gain control over others. Never a slow down in this compassionately entertaining revelation Jesse continues his attempts to bring peace to his area of responsibility, but is always deterred by the cruel mentality of the bad guys! Most definitely another five star masterpiece by Mr. Wheeler, as Sheriff Jesse pulls no punches when he finds a group of outlaws busy themselves continuously trying to gain control over others. Never a slow down in this compassionately entertaining revelation of realistically motivated old American western folklore extravaganza!
The Author's outstanding storylines successfully maintains your undivided attention from beginning to end, and his perfectly selected character selections could not have been any better portrayed, as they were outstandingly portrayed from the first paragraph to last! Plenty of suspenseful episodes throughout this compelling story of unending excitement!
Definitely recommend this compassionate storytelling masterpiece to all of you dyed in the wool western enthusiasts, but even you non-western fanatics will find yourselves completely mesmerized once you begin following Jesse, his family and his rancher friend, as their camaraderie is unsurpassed in their fight for peace and tranquility for their safety and welfare! You're the loser if you fail to follow these dedicated people in their quest for justice and peace!!!😃

The characters were pretty good -- I mean the bad guy was bad, the good guys were good, and the damsels needed to be rescued. The story moved along well, and kept my interest. The thing that bothered me the most was the poor job of editing. Three, maybe 4, times they got the names confused. One time was for 2-3 pages, the book was obviously talking about Jesse; but it was calling him Percy. Then they got Molly and Lydia backwards. I know that is picky, but I was bothered by it; and glad that it The characters were pretty good -- I mean the bad guy was bad, the good guys were good, and the damsels needed to be rescued. The Lone Star Rider (Westward Saga Western)
Jesse was a Sheriff in a small town who received a letter from his aunt and uncle who lived in Snake Root to inform him of his cousin, Noah was dead. Jesse had a gut feeling that something was wrong, very, very wrong. He had learned a long time ago to never ignore a gut feeling, that's what made him a good sheriff. It's time to take a ride and see what happened to Noah. The Lone Star Rider (Westward Saga Western)

Does the term, proofread, sound familiar?
It was really hard to follow along smoothly while trying to figure out who was the subject. Paterson revolvers have to be completely disassembled to reload. The 1847 Walker weighs 4.9pounds unloaded and it pulls my pants down (never meant as a belt gun). As the commucrats keep saying, FACT CHECk.

When Sheriff Pittman receives word that his cousin in Snake Roost has been killed, he goes to investigate. Everyone assures him his cousin was killed in a drunken brawl and he leaves thinking his cousin had become a bad seed. He soon learns that Percy and his gang have taken over the town and they will say whatever Percy tells them too. The truth is, the sheriff's cousin was murdered, but what can one man do against so many? When Sheriff Pittman receives word that his cousin in Snake Roost has been killed, he goes to investigate. Great story about a sheriff's cousin
A plea for help that came too late! Unravelling what happened to his cousin, what is happening to his aunt and uncle and their town is confusing at best. But he is not a good man and not one to give up. Well worth the read. Recommended for all adult and teenage readers. Great story about a sheriff's cousin

Another one of the Frank Wheeler series of Western Sagas. I love how he weaves the characters from the other books into all three of these in the series. These are all easy to read with lots of action. Most of it is very plausible and detailed enough to imagine being back in the west during that time-frame.

Extremely confusing Author kept mixing up character names thru entire book
Made it hard to keep track of what was really going on. Story line okay once you figured out what character he was really talking about

Everybody needs a hero..
This is my first read with Wheeler. I enjoyed the story and the flow of each character. I'm looking forward to reading more. One comment is he needs an editor. He uses wrong names throughout. It's easy to over look but it seemed wrong. Everybody needs a hero..

I enjoyed reading this book. For much of the story it seemed the bad guys would win but in the end right prevailed.
