This was my first poetry book and I loved it. It was really cool to see both perspectives of the relationship and to see it start out as nervous and then blossom into true love. There were so many quotes I could relate to. Overall, I really liked it and I will definitely be buying more poetry.

This book of poetry was so sweet. I honestly usually don't love romantic poetry. I tend to prefer poetry about more hard-hitting topics but this collection was very unique, featuring the voices of both people in the relationship instead of just the one person who's pining or heartbroken. That in itself made this collection really enjoyable for me. Next, I saw someone compare this style of poetry to Instagram poetry and I have to completely disagree. While some of the poems are shorter, there are other longer ones which take up a page or two. This isn't something you'd see in Instagram poetry! Lastly, the illustrations were amazing. The collection is broken up into sections corresponding with the phases of the moon and the drawings in between and throughout were so beautiful. These types of books feel like hydration for my soul! Well done. Thank you to the publisher & NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Advance Review Copy generously provided through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Aesthetically the book is so beautiful! I loved the illustrations. It doesn't go into too much depth. For me, this was pleasant reading with beautiful illustrations but nothing more. I was missing something. When you go come and find me up in the stars I'll be waiting for you there

Love by Night is a beautiful story of Love, real love. 5 Stars This poetry book was beautiful. It was more than just poetry. It told a story, a journey, an experience. This poetry book was a bit different form the ones I’ve read before because it tells the story of two lovers. It tells their journey and, in my humble opinion, the way it’s written makes it ten times better. To me it was beautiful and I loved every page in this poetry book. I 100% bought this because of the cover and the pretty dark pages on the inside. I'm not much of a poetry reader so I was hesitant to actually want to read it. But, I loved it. It was fun to flip through the pages and think back to the early days of our relationship. We are to the point in our love story where everything just feels normal, like we have always been together. But this made me think back to when we didn't know each other beyond our names and faces and all the late night convos, silly date nights, and long stories told to dive into each other. Beautiful!

This is simultaneously a good read and a confusing one. It honestly reads like it should have been formatted as an epistolary novella, with alternating correspondence between the two love interests. A beautiful collection of love poems that tells the story of each of the author’s relationship with one another. It is clear that these two are very much in love and it was a delight to read. 4.25! Very enjoyable Poetry book. I really love this sweet take on love poems. I love that this was done together as a couple. Very sweet and very moving. For those Poetry police you need to step back. If you don't enjoy this type of poetry then don't read it. Blasting the authors and those who enjoy it is not ok. I realize everyone has opinions but telling people that this type of poetry is not real is wrong. Be better. 4.25! Very enjoyable Poetry book. I really love this sweet take on love poems. Poetry isn’t always my jam, but honestly I was sucked in my the beauty of the cover and artwork inside. I quickly fell in love with the words and the love story. It’s such a whole and complete love being told by both parties. There is so much I can relate to reading this. Especially as a person who often struggles with anxiety and deep holes. A complete and beautiful love won’t stop those days, but it does help make them more bearable.

A POETRY COLLECTION. 200 PAGES of "I've never been more afraid/ of anything/ than I am/ now/ of ever losing you". am i being too harsh? pessimistic?? I've never read poetry about just romance and maybe this is what it entails. but either way, i did not like this. no. not at all. if you like rupi kaur, or amanda lovelace, or other poets like that, then i'm sure you'll absolutely love this. but, as you can probably tell, i'm not one of those people.

Love by Night is an artistic poetry collection, compiled by the famed Instagram poetry account. Divided into 5 sections and each a phase of the moon starting from new moon to full moon, this cosy and tender poetry collection explores a heartwarming romance that you can read snuggled up in your bed, with some music that evokes a deep yearning for love, in the twilight. Written from two perspectives, this poetry collection has a dreamy romanticism attached to it. I haven't been in a proper relationship (except when I was daydreaming about them) to relate to anything the poems were going on about and this just made me feel super single. But not in a way that makes me feel lonely. Instead, it was in a way that made me dream of such love. Such relationship. Something so tender and idyllic. It is an easy, simple collection to read through and a fluid magical one at that, something I would recommend to the newbies in the genre searching for reads to experience poetry at its magnificence. And also, something that is not too complicated for them to comprehend through. With illustrations that will melt your heart away, this is a perfect bed-time read. Rating: 3.25/5

This is a very classic case of “it’s not for me”… so I’ll run through my pros and cons. Pros: First, the premise of a couple writing this, with poems from both sides of the relationship is wonderful. There were also non-gendering we/you/i poems that were probably written together too. The books itself — cover, formatting, interior art — all stellar. Cons: There’s no grit. None. Nothing punched me in the gut. Nothing sunk it’s teeth in and pulled me in. It’s very fluffy, very soft, flowery. And that’s not for me. If that’s what you like in romantic poetry, this is probably for you. I need a little something more than a few mentions of self-doubt and “the darkness”. One poem actually used the word “fart” and I don’t care what you say, the word fart just doesn’t hit right in a poem. Felt a touch repetitive at times. There were also repeated words and phrases too distinctive to mention more than once in my opinion. The repetition was not intentional and therefore could feel a little clunky. Just my two cents. I gave it three because… like it’s fine. If you told me you wanted a really soft, sickeningly romantic collection, I’d probably rec it.

Unlike most sorrowful night poems, this collection has a more cheerful undertone talking about connection between two people as well as with others. Love By Night is more about the developing love interests between two people and the fact that it was written in poetic style makes it quite beautiful. It is almost a short novella written in poetic style , which came across so genuine and nor forced. What I found to be great was how each poem felt so simple using stream of consciousness. As a reader, the poems lure you into two people’s conversations about their vulnerable moments, hence why I believed the fact that these poems were written at night. There is something magical and sorrowful at nights: the sounds of silence presents you naked to the world. What makes love so genuine is the themes surrounding it such as worries, future, and being able to be vulnerable to open up to each other. I really loved the fact that, love was mentioned in a more mature way in this collection. The entire collection opens up a window into the life of two lovers for us to watch them silently.

It’s not bad if you adore simplistic language and shorter poems, but even so, it needed a bit more time and work. For a read, it was okay. Definitely not high on my list of books I’ve enjoyed, but this may be perfect for another. Like I said before, there was lots of room for growth in majority of the poems which could’ve made it next level. The illustrations were great though! And easy on the eyes. Great job to whoever illustrated the book. I loved the simplicity and relevance of the art to the poems.

Williams compares this love to the seasons, to the sun, to the moon, to the stars, to the sea, to the tides. And not because it is mundane, but because it is inevitable and unshaken. The story these poems told was relatable with just a touch of whimsy. The journey of self-love was just a beautiful as the love story, where both the man and the woman found a sense of belonging with their partner and also with themselves. I thoroughly enjoyed this collection and look forward to picking up a physical copy.

Personally, the words resonated with my own experiences and emotions, entering into a romance with excitement and reservation, and as love shifts into its whole being, exploring its facets in every way. I enjoyed glimpsing into the two voices and how they explore what it is to fall in love, not from an angsty persona of pain which I feel many poets employ, but from a goodhearted, warming love. I did catch myself skimming over a couple of poems, and a couple grasped for similes which didn't make sense in terms of the overall tone; however, for the majority, I greatly enjoyed reading 'Love by Night.'

Love By Night is an intimate and delicately-put poetry collection; a love letter between two halves of a whole, as they navigate their relationship. If you’re looking for a collection that celebrates love and leaves you feeling hopeful – for the love that exists if only we have the courage to see it and fall into it – this would be a wonderful addition to your bookshelf.

This is my first poetry book by this author and the cover is what grabbed my attention when picking it out. The pages are the super fine and glossy so I thought, "they put a lot of work and thought into the physical aspects of this book, so surely the words inside are great too." This is the first time I have ever read a poetry book in alternating views. It was quite fun the first few pages, but after awhile I would get lost as too who is talking about who. This would be fine for the most part as poetry is very ambiguous, but if you are setting up a poetry book to show two people falling in love in a parallel way, it would make sense that those two lines stayed that way. I wouldve liked to have a little bit more structure in how these two characters were sharing their story, but I did enjoy the vagueness about half way through the book. It did get rather repetitive about three quarters of the way in as I found myself rushing to be over it. Multiple poems felt like they were just copies of previous ones written in a different arrangement of word phrases. Overall, it was a good read. There were a few good poems that stuck with me.

Disclaimer: I received this book for free in exchange of my honest opinion. Too sickly sweet and romantic for me - which is cute in a way for their relationship (if it's based on a real thing), but there's more than this I did not like. Firstly, it is confusing... it took me a while to realize the poems are from the POV of the two lovers and by the time I did, I was already so not into their story... Because there isn't much of a story. There isn't much depth here. They like each other and they dr Disclaimer: I received this book for free in exchange of my honest opinion. There is no ooze of desire or passion flowing from these poems and that did not work for me... I am also getting tired of these minimalists poems who are not really saying much.

I was hoping for more from this book unfortunately. I was hoping that it would explore more of the hardships of being in love, but it really only focused on how good it feels and how you are wanting to always be with that person. It was a good read and I know others will appreciate it more then I could. Memorable quotes "Please, be slow to remind me of my mistakes. Be gentle in telling me when I am wrong. Be kind when you feel like I don't deserve it. Please remember I am not always right and I ca I was hoping for more from this book unfortunately.
