4,5/5. Always fun! Always good! Let us out maybe a bit too much in the dark in a stretching the series kind of way, but it doesn't bring the fun down, like a filler would, just seem a bit unnecessarily stretch but I enjoy every part of it still! 4,5/5. Hello Again! The other day I finally sat down and read the next volume in the Something is Killing the Children series! I am honestly way behind on these so I used one of my August Hoopla borrows to snag this volume and try to catch up just a little (and to be honest I wish I had used a second borrow to check out the next one)! I have really been wanting to read a few more graphic novels but I feel like I just keep wanting for more of my long-running series to come out (Saga, Fence, and Giant Day Hello Again! I have really been wanting to read a few more graphic novels but I feel like I just keep wanting for more of my long-running series to come out (Saga, Fence, and Giant Days but alas this one has ended but I have started reading this author’s other works). I considered starting one of these amazing series over but I decided to continue reading on with this one! I am enjoying this series but for some reason, those three graphic novel series have become beloved for me and I just really enjoyed rereading them! Before I jump into the spoilerly bits if you would like to read about the other volumes in the Something is Killing the Children series, I have reviews up here and on my Goodreads! SPOILERS AHEAD The Mysterious Order of St. George have arrived in town and even Erica is not to thrilled about it. Upon arrival, they seem to not only be taking over the town but the ongoing monster case and all things related. This includes taking Bian with them however, this is not going to happen easily and things stray very far from the plan. While Erica and the order are attempting to take Bian with them and possibly stop the monster infestation someone else sees something in the forest and just might be the next victim. I really enjoyed this issue. While each of these are short, this one felt very packed! Things were happening and changing with every page and it felt like the story was progressing! I am excited to learn more about Erica and the order as they are now all in town. I also am interested in what role Bian will play in the future of this situation and how the baby monsters are going to affect things (which is what I think they were hinting at towards the end of the issue). I am out of borrows for the month on Hoopla but September starts in just a few days so luckily I can get the next issues soon! In the meantime, I read that this is being made into a show! I am super excited to see how this turns into a show and what they do with the story and characters! Goodreads Rating: 5 stars

As it turns out, eradicating a monster population in a small town is not as easy as it sounds. Especially not when said monsters have had time to set up lairs and propagate. In Something Is Killing the Children #8, we’re about to learn just how bad things can get. Again. The monsters that haunt children’s nightmares are real, and they’re even worse than you can imagine. That’s why Erica Slaughter hunts them, though the task is far from easy. Nor is it without cost. The monsters that haunt children’s nightmares are real, and they’re even worse than you can imagine. That’s why Erica Slaughter hunts them, though the task is far from easy. Nor is it without cost. We’ve witnessed this a time or two now. The cycle is at risk of beginning again, and Erica’s hunting situation has gotten even more complicated than ever. None of that changes what has to be done though. The job is to kill the monsters—and, ideally, save the children. Check out the rest of my review over at Word of the Nerd

The sheriff finally believes that something supernatural is going on. Erica does the right thing, but at what cost? Bian is a weird kid that is probably scarred for life and I am anticipating great and weird things in her future in this story. The cliffhanger at the end was brutal. I wanted to give this 5 stars but it felt like it was stretched a little. I see where the plot is going but I think they are going there too slowly for the sake of selling issues. Erica does the right thing. Tommy runs into some shit. Idk I really like where this is heading and how this is heading there.

Well that escalated quickly! That’s what I like how this series, it has simple slow moments then bam it gets crazy. Aaron got the shit Smacked out of him and for someone who is a boss that’s kind of hilarious.

Wow.

It was good. One of those you need to binge read because of the way the story is written.

That y’all between the sheriff and James was funny. Bian is so precious. I feel bad she had to go through what she did. But now Tommy’s in deep trouble. Great run so far.

Imo this could translate into a good tv series. I like all the suspense and the build-up of shit hitting the fan. 4 stars.

I wonder if the author wrote this before or after Stranger Things. Like if they came up with the idea before or after seeing the show.
