This is a good basic cookbook if you want to cook healthy food with few ingredients. The recipes are simple and use whole food ingredients like oats, fish, fresh veggies, beans and meats. There's very little dairy used other than a few cases of things like Greek yogurt. Many dishes are vegan or can be made vegan. Most of the dishes are gluten free. As with most titles by this publisher, there are very few photos (generally one per chapter) and there's a detailed intro section telling you what to stock in your kitchen with more basic advice about the topic. Nutritional information is provided, which I greatly appreciate. These are simple recipes and there are many healthy options here no matter what diet you follow (paleo, vegan, etc.), though they may be hardest to adapt to for those who currently follow the Standard American Diet since these rely on much less sugar, refined flour, dairy, etc. I read a digital review copy of this book via the publisher.

I am not sure what really defines “clean eating” as it is impossible to measure toxins in the body but this is a book full of healthy food recipes. The recipes are well written and understandable by cooks of all levels and the photos make the food very appealing to myself and other lovers of food out there. (just do not take away my Coke Zero or I will turn homicidal!) What I love about the book is that it uses whole ingredients instead of pre-prepared and packaged foods. I do draw the line at making my own cheese, and canning tomatoes but the more "ingredients" you use the better. My one nephew says that I never have any food in my house, only ingredients --- that is why I cook so much. I also refuse to eat or cook with "chick'n" and its 88 ingredients vs. 🐔chicken🐔 having one!) As always, I try to find a reason to not rate with stars as I love emojis (outside of their incessant use by "🙏-ed Social Influencer Millennials/#BachelorNation survivors/etc. " on Instagram and Twitter... Get a real job, people!) so let's give it 🥘🥘🥘🥘 This book is also cross reviewed at http://www.facebook.com/janetsbookcorner AND will be on Amazon.ca and Amazon.com after its release date.

I received a copy of this book through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an honest review. This is a pretty standard cook book that is good for beginners. There's information in the book about clean eating. There's also a variety of recipes from breakfast, snacks, dinner, and even drinks and dessert. There's quite a few recipes for meat in this book which was also nice. Most of the recipes are pretty straight forward, although some are a little more time intensive than I'd like for a week night. Most of the recipes are fairly simple though and require easily attainable ingredients. There aren't pictures of the finished recipes though which is something I like in cook books. Overall it's a helpful book for someone new to cooking or clean eating!
