More detailed explanation of how it's all done is also included. Each recipe starts with a title and total time, servings and list of ingredients are included and you should be able to substitute for your healthier dietary needs: low sodium, low fat, low sugar and fresh vs. canned items. Directions are given and how to store them. Like different categories especially the vegetables as we could eat those on our trips. Like quick meals that you can dehydrate and then just add water to when your time is low. Some recipes call for a very LARGE amount of ingredients. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.

I have been dehydrating for a long time but I am always looking for more recipes and maybe a better way to preserve an abundance of food. This is the first book that has contained the recipes for meals that could be used on hikes or camping trips. The taste and the cost should be much lower than purchased meals. I haven't tried meals but will do so now. The recipes are concise and easy to follow and you should have good results. A few ingredients I never heard of but can probably get them on lin I have been dehydrating for a long time but I am always looking for more recipes and maybe a better way to preserve an abundance of food. Basic info I was hoping for a bit more detailed information on dehydrating and storing herbs, berries, fruit and veggies. This has basics which can be found pretty much from a quick online search.
