I havent had a chance to read the whole collection but that will change soon thats for sure but for now this is a review for Broken Butterfly by Leigh Kelsey Dying is the start of Butterfly's (Pia) new life in this book. With two bikers Anselm and Rumour there to greet her. As well as introduce her to this new world. The banter between her and Rumour had me cracking up. I really likes this taster of things to come and im looking forward to more from Butterfly and the Grim Brotherhood MC. I read Banet's short story from this Anthology as an ARC and absolutely adored it. The Tribunal archives is such a rich world and it was fascinating getting to know Jabari better. I loved Kushim and his whole demeanor and he and Jabari had excellent chemistry with one another. I definitely recommend this to any fan of the Tribunal Archives and all of the books in that world are amazing and you should read them, if you haven't already! I got this book because K.N. Banet has a short story, "Ancient and Immortal", included, featuring one of Jacky's siblings, Zuri. If you haven't delved into the Jacky Leon series yet - DO IT! It is Urban Fantasy gold, and the world is growing by leaps and bounds. If you've followed along with the family so far, then this short story fills in some blanks and personalizes Zuri in a way that the main narrative can't. If you haven't? It's alright. You might be missing the main crux of the story, but I got this book because K.N. Banet has a short story, "Ancient and Immortal", included, featuring one of Jacky's siblings, Zuri. You might be missing the main crux of the story, but that has no effect on THIS story. You can read it just as presented, as a short story in this collection - one that entertains, introduces, and ends on a happy note.  As for the collection? Holy good smokes! This is a behemoth at over 2,000 pages! For my average speed of reading, my Kindle told me it'll take about 52 hours. Do you know what that is? Heaven. 38 stories. All Urban Fantasy. Some are by authors I already know and love, like K.N. Banet, Harper Wylde, and A.J. Macey. Others are new to me authors like Becca Blake, who will find a place on my TBR very quickly.  I love collections like this - one that fit a theme and offers me my own personal addiction - new authors to read. Cheers!

Witches and werewolves and more to make this an awesome collection. One story by Krystal Pena, Recondite Ward was just outstanding. Loved it. Another outstanding one was Mystic Motives by Margo Bond Collins. Thoroughly enjoyed “Storm Bringer “ by Ariel Dawn as well.

This review is based only on the following story: Ancient and Immortal by K.N. Banet In the last couple Jacky Leon books we have seen a different Zuri, this story shows us what happened in more detail. While I hated how "tired" Zuri was at the start of this one, I loved that it led her to her favorite place to recharge. Things quickly went a bit out of control for Zuri and she found herself in the presences of an immortal, one who was older than her by a bit, yet so down to earth. The two did work great together on their quest and even better after. I really loved how surprised Zuri was at what Kushim left behind, she totally wasn't expecting that! I hope we get to see more of these two in their own story or in the Jacky Leon books.

I did not purchase this anthology with the intent to read all the short stories inside the book. In fact I’m not familiar with any of the authors or a series with the exception of the Jacky Leon series by K.N Banet. I managed An awakening which was a DNF. It was immediately clear to me the FMC was written by a male author. I avoid the author Avery Song like the plague so I was never going to try her short story. I doubt I’ll revisit this anthology. FYI of the three stories I read the majority involved the FMC’s pregnancy. One involved physical & mental abuse towards the FMC (I DNF that one)

I had originally picked up the anthology for K.N. Shadows of Opus by Becca Blake Rating: ★★★★☆ Tags: elves, hunters, vampires, magic, prisons, mafia This was advertised as a short Jordan Kane novella in the Reign of Blood trilogy world. This story followed the half-elf guild vampire hunter FMC Jordan who was saved by the clan-less vampire Veran when she and her partner were jumped by the local mafia vampires, and it altered all her preconceived notions about the other supernatural race. The story ended with an unresolved relationship that I would be interested in reading more about, but it seemed like the other trilogy follows another FMC instead. I did like the writing and pacing though, so I will be putting it on my TBR list. --- Mystic Motives by Margo Bond Collins and Marley Tobin Rating: ★★★☆☆ Tags: post-apocalyptic, magic, shifters, monsters, prisons This story was advertised as book 1 of the Ulterior Magic series, but it was a very short quick read that was more like novella. The post-apocalyptic world of humans subjugating supernaturals (shifters and witches) was interesting, but I felt that it wasn't really quite explained how the supernatural resistance even found about the capture of the FMC witch Alexandra/Zandra, and Zandra's unexplained magical powers were a deux ex machina plot device to solve issues with her escape. There were also inconsistencies with what the main characters were doing (escaping through a tunnel or finding a safe house) and the description of one of the characters as a panther or leopard shifter (they are not the same). The romance was of a insta-lust fated mate style, but it didn't bother me too much. I don't plan to check out any further stories in this series. --- Devil's Magic by Tia Didmon --- Soul Echo by Harper Wylde --- Cooling by Morgan Jane Mitchell --- Dark Wings Society by L.W. I really enjoyed reading this book. The premise was fun, and I knew it was going to be great from the start after reading the book's blurb: "I will take up my sword to be the hero saving the princess instead of being the princess who needs to be saved." I loved the MC, and the relationship they develop with the romantic interest was just as alluring as they were. I'd definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for something different than their usual reads. **I received a free copy of this R I really enjoyed reading this book. For 99 pennies, a collection is worth it if it includes favorite authors, and I got lucky. I prefer single POV, action and romance, complicated characters, and drama. That is so tough in short stories, and I was not interested in some of the blurbs. Here is my review for the stories that captivated me: Becca Blake: Totally entertaining. I get the idea that elves created vampires. As a vampire hunter, Jordan finds out her career aspirations have been held back by her partner, and she is apparently held to higher standards than the others. We don’t know why, but just one mistake turns into an instant leave of absence. What could she do with her mercenary skills but fume? A new vampire in town meets her at the bar when she is drunkenly wobbling towards the door as an easy target, and he saves her from a mauling. Despite trepidations, she joins with him to attack his enemy clan, and finds a new career possibility. It’s an enemies-to-lovers trope with some quick salacious bits. Mystic Motives: ““We would smolder for days. Would there be anyone left to bury the bodies? ” Witch Trials in the age of video games come true? I am confused about the cause of destruction. But Zander is a witch in a community named Haven. Oh, the irony. Compounding my confusion is the weight of the ancestors pressing upon her to come to a decision. Huh? Harper Wyld’s “Soul Echo” This is dual POV, with a bit of teasing moments between the two: Liss lost her brother and her home within a week, and was living on top of a garage. She had no idea that there was a group of magicians or wizards in the city. Meanwhile, in the midst of saving his brother, Josiah died. The same people who attacked him also were following Liss, and he realized that once he appeared in her bedroom. The romance between the two was tantalizing as much as it was unlikely. I also liked the subtheme of duality. Both were twins, there were two points of view…

I love some paranormal and checking out anthologies is a great way to find some new authors :) I picked up this one because it had some authors I loved. I haven’t read all of them yet, but so far I have read the following: Soul Echo by Harper Wylde Felicity, aka Liss, has just lost her twin brother and has been having “episodes” of intense pain. This is really like a three chapter teaser. I’m definitely intrigued, and want to see where this story is headed. Broken Butterfly by Leigh Kelsey This is a 9 chapter prequel, I think. Lia/Butterfly does in a freak accident and ends up in the underworld as a reward for Anslem and Rumour and possibly two others who are mentioned, but not seen. While she is meant to be a prize - they guys are respectful and are caring in how they introduce her to her new world. Rumour can be a bit of an alpha, but we get some scenes from his POV to understand. This is clearly the beginning of a story, and I’m definitely going to be keeping an eye out for more to come. Ancient & Immortal by KN Banet. Zuri is the daughter of Hassan and the sister of Jacky Leon from the Tribunal stories. I loved Zuri and Kushim. We see them in the Tribunal series, but seeing how they meet and their adventure together was great. I love that Zuri is a fierce woman, but we also get to see her vulnerable side in this story. Kushim is sweet but also alpha in his own way :)

I am just going to discuss just one of the many prequels in this Collection. For me that will be the Broken Butterfly (Grimm Brotherhood MC #1) by Leigh Kelsey. This was a wonderful little prequel of the upcoming Grimm Brotherhood Series. Our protagonist is Pia the butterfly. In this Prequel Pia's life is turned upside down when she dies and is reborn in the underworld, she is alive again but not quite. She now known as Butterfly and not Pia. There are two other important characters in this series there is Rumour a gruff alpha male type and then Anselm who’s focused on caring. It will be interesting to see the other dynamics and the other characters in the full novel. Now it is time for me to read the rest of the anthologies/ I just wanted everyone to know what a great peek this anthology is. I gave this honest, voluntary review after being given a free copy of the novel.

As a fan of the Tribunal Archives series I was really looking forward to read about Zuri and how she met mysterious Immortal named Kushim. And I was not disappointed! Ancient and Immortal is a nice addition to the werecat series and gives us an opportunity to get to know one of the most interesting characters in Jacky Leon’s supernatural family a little bit better. It is a very neat story with an equal amount of action and romance. I think this novella should be read as a part of the JL series, because it gains so much more with knowledge of the whole background and I’m rating it from this perspective. But it also has all the basic information needed for the first time readers not to feel overwhelmed and lost, which makes it a good introduction to the world of Tribunal Archives and a fun read on its own. ARC in exchange for the honest review.

I received and ARC for Magic, Memories, and Mayhem by LJ Night which is included in this anthology. First thing to note is this is a prequel to her book Key of Magic which I am SO excited for! I read another teaser for this new series previously that gave a bit more back story for Maribel and this one just added on a bit more. Allowing us to see how she developed since that first teaser. So far the character development has been solid, I am invested in the MC and excited to hear about her story. This prequel gives us a glimpse into a possible romantic interest but already I've been able to get invested enough in the character development, world building, and the MC's possible weaknesses/character flaws to have me unsure of how things are going to play out which makes me happy since there's no predictions I can solidly make yet. Excited to get my hands on the series when it releases. Full disclosure, I may update my review once I am able to read other books in this anthology. For now, based on Magic, Memories, and Mayhem by LJ Night my review will start at 5/5.

The different view of the afterlife and powers that an (not *the*) underworld is capable of, being able to take someone not fully intended on crossing over and thrusting them into an entirely new life, rebirthing them for some other purpose, was one that I'm fully invested in learning more about. What else could this underworld be capable of? The characters we were introduced to so far seem like fun ones. The men, Anselm and Rumour, are like night and day, complete opposites but in a good way. The fmc is by far my favorite mainly because she is not the typical drop dead gorgeous, skinny but has a figure, woman. She is more on the plain side and has thickness to her that you don't see in a lot of females in these types of books. From what I can see about this series so far, it's going to be a good one! I can't wait to see what Kelsey adds onto this for the complete first book.

This anthology has some great authors and stories.. So far I have read the following... Love Magic PART 1 by Angela Kulig - I liked this short story that is a good prequel. It served as a good introduction to a story that sounds interesting. Got introduced to a few characters, especially Josie and and I really wondered what was going to happen next. Got left with a few questions I want answers too. And want to know why the two sides do not like each other. Need to see what happens next. Mystic Motives: Ulterior Magic, Part 1 by Margo Bond Collins - I enjoyed this prequel that introduces Rafe and Zandra plus a futuristic world with shifters and magic and a rebellion in the making. This is the story of how these two meet and it was hilarious. Kept me guessing as to what might go wrong next and how they would escape . And setup the next part of their story well. Need to know what happens next.

Zandra is rescued at the last minute by two shifters from the magical resistance, and they try to sneak her out of town. During the rescue, Zandra and Rafe, a coy-wolf shifter, make an emotional connection. This short story sets the scene for Margo’s new series “Ulterior Magic.” I’m eagerly looking forward to reading more of the series and finding out what happens next for Zandra and Rafe. Mystic Motives: Ulterior Magic Pt 1 is just one of the 30 stories located in Call of Magic: A Limited Edition Collection. I absolutely loved this story, I just wish it was at least 4 times longer. Oh well, beggars cannot be choosers. Broken Butterfly (Grimm Brotherhood MC #1) by Leigh Kelsey Super snippet 😍 This is a great snippet of the upcoming Grimm Brotherhood Series! We’re introduced to Pia/Butterfly who is essentially murdered by the Underworld as a reward for ‘them’. We’re not introduced to all of them in this snippet but wow are the two men we’ve been introduced two yummy!! You’ve got Rumour a gruff alpha male type and then Anselm who’s focused on caring 😍 will be interesting to see the other dynamics!
