This was really precious and spooky and fun! I loved the queer rep, loved the demon (I'm such a sucker for demons being primary characters with actual personalities beyond just "evil, grrr"), and the twist was really fun. Billed as a queer Scooby-Doo, this comic follows the ghost hunters The Specter Inspectors. It delivers on its promise. Our intrepid investigators include an empath and a demonic host, a non-binary teenager, and a scaredy-cat cameraman. The relationships among all the characters are sweet, but the sapphic love story between our true believer and resident skeptic really shines through. I loved the spooky vibes with hauntings, a demon, and a cult gracing the pages. The art is stunning, showcasing the characters and their emotions to the fullest, capturing ambience, comedy, and the supernatural throughout. I would follow this mystery-solving gang into any creepy encounter, and I hope there is more where this came from.

Oh my goodness, this was the perfect combination of story and art! I really enjoyed the paranormal and sort of horror aspects in this story. It definitely had its creepy moments. But I also really loved the friendship and found family aspects. I could not put this story down. And I definitely need to buy a copy for myself to read over and over again! Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing the E-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a big fan of BOOM! titles already and this cemented that for me. I can't think of anything else to say without spoiling things but I just really liked this a lot and I think y'all should check it out!

Wow, this is an amazing new series that's way sweeter (and deeper) than it's fun and silly title would suggest. I ADORED these ghost hunter characters, including the budding relationship bewteen central sapphic couple Noa and Astrid, the sweet and slightly gormless cameraman Ko, and Noa's younger, slightly snarky nonbinary sibling Gus. There's some great horror in here as well, including a semi-cooperative demon and a truly horrifying villain. (The art helps tremendously here--it pivots between gorgeous and outright terrifying at the end, and it's always immaculately executed.) I can't WAIT to read more in this series, and to secure a physical copy. (Thanks to NetGalley for the eARC.)

I loved everything about this! Diverse LGBTQ and non-binary characters, a fun and not too spooky plot, and lovely art and colouring. When I finished I wanted more and I hope the Specter Inspectors will find another case to investigate!

Thanks to Netgalley for a review copy! This was an awesome read! I loved the ghost-hunters-find-real-ghosts storyline that got even better with the friendships between the characters. The art was great and I appreciated that it still looked vibrant even though most scenes took place at night. All in all, it was just what I wanted!

I liked how the panels were set out, particularly throughout the final confrontation scene, and I thought the way the illustrator was able to indicate personality changes was brilliant! I also really enjoyed the story itself. Perfect for a spooky Halloween read, Noa is a True Believer and is working on creating a show proving ghosts are real. Riding on previous social media success, Noa along with her sibling Gus, cameraman Ko, and love interest Astrid, is travelling to a spooky town. What happens next is unexpected but I was hooked! I could see how each part worked together to create the whole narrative and I was definitely glad I didn’t have to wait to read the finale! I also liked how the story paced and, without spoilers, the methods employed to keep the tension going as the MCs tried to unravel the mystery. I loved the queer rep (sapphic and non binary) as well. If you’re in to spooky books, pick this one up. It’s also a great introduction to the world of graphic novels and comics if you’ve not already tried them.

Noa and Astrid’s storyline was very sweet. I hope in future installments there will be more character development for Gus and Ko, I’m interested in learning more about their background. The character dynamics definitely had me invested in the story and will have me looking for more Specter Inspector comics in the future. The illustrations brought the characters to life through sharp facial expressions and clothes styling. I love it when characters wear different clothes everyday! The color schemes chosen for different scenes perfectly capture the spooky vibe and tense elements that weave through the story. Specter Inspectors is a fun, spooky, paranormal jaunt with the characters’ personal growth and relationships at its core. It is perfect for teens who love humorous graphic novels with a darker twist. Noa, Ko, Gus, and Astrid are ghost hunters, and they're headed to the most haunted town of them all. Noa is a big believer in the paranormal and wants to prove more than anything that it does exist beyond the cheesy fake evidence you see on TV. Together this group is here to uncover secrets and hunt ghosts that have existed for centuries, but they might just get more than they bargained for in the process. I feel like I cant go anywhere without first talking about the stunning characters we got the opportunity to know throughout the story. Noa is determined, brave and is always looking out for those around. She saw what she wanted and went after it without a second doubt in her mind. She always considered the dangers for her friends before ever even thinking about her safety. Gus, who is also Noa's younger sibling, was Sarcastic as hell and always on the quickdraw for the jokes. Ko from what I saw he is a sweetheart and does anything for the benefit of his friends. Even if he isn't a fierce believer in the paranormal he still jumps at the opportunity to have a good time and be around the people he loves. Astrid was perhaps my favorite of the story. Even in the circumstances she was facing, she still cared fiercely about her friends and was insanely loyal to them. She is brave and caring, and hilarious. This straight up read as a queer Scooby Doo to me, which was a childhood favorite of mine so of course I enjoyed the story all the way through. I honestly really would like to see any adventure these characters went on, because im sure its always going to be a great time.

I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review. This was a really nice graphic novel from Boom! Studios. I love the artwork, it was stunning and popped when it needed to. The art of the supernatural beings was well done. Creepy yet beautiful and fit the art style really well. As for the story, I thought it was cool and interesting. There was no cut and dry villain until the end. I thought it was great how the story intertwined the present with the past and how I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review. Nancy Drew (the CW version) meets Escape Room. Specter Inspectors was a a fun supernatural mysterious adventure. It would have been a perfect read for Spooky Szn (without being overly scary) and I hate that I waited so long to pick it up. My biggest complaint is that this book is not nearly long enough. I want more adventures and investigations. Also, if you enjoy this graphic novel, I highly recommend picking up The Dead and the Dark by Courtney Gould. Nancy Drew (the CW version) meets Escape Room.
