   Sheriff Milton and Widestone This book is the second in the series after Big Joe and follows the townsfolk of Wide stone and their sheriff, sheriff Milton Byers. The town is rebuilding after their showdown with the bandits and an individual has moved in that seems to be a rescuer by loaning money to the townsfolk, to rebuild their businesses and homes but the sheriff has an uneasy feeling about him. The new banker in town is flush with cash and seems eager to loan it to town folk and infuse some life into the town, after the bloodshed of a few months ago. What only Milton suspects, though, is that he is swindling the people out of their businesses.
