This is such an amazing , sweet book ! It has a big theme running through it of inclusion, and giving things a go . This book tells the story of Yak's first yoga class , and having never done it before it is all quite scary. But Yak soon feels at ease and makes new friends in the class . This book also teaches about just being you , don't be scared to try something you never know you might love it . It's great for children to read . It does also feature some yoga poses for young readers to try o This is such an amazing , sweet book ! It has a big theme running through it of inclusion, and giving things a go . Overall a brilliant fun sweet book to read with absolutely stunning illustrations! I would definitely recommend this for readers over 10 due to the yoga poses but would be fine for younger without the yoga poses (unless you are comfortable with them of course).

Full of cute characters and wonderful illustrations to encourage little ones to try yoga. It is such a great introduction to kids yoga as well as having a great story about persevering and believing in yourself, an important message for us all. The yoga exercises are something the whole family could get involved in together and the beautiful illustrations depict the animals stretching, breathing and doing some basic yoga poses. There are so very many ways this could be used at home or even in the classroom to reduce anxiety and promote happy mental and physical health. A great resource.

"The more yoga you do, the more stretchy you will become." YESSSSSSS! I'm constantly preaching this to people, OF ALL AGES. A couple of things you need to know about me before we get to this review: 1) I've been a yogi since I was 14. 2) I'm a Youth Services Librarian, and picture books are a part of my daily life. 3) In ALL of my story times and programs, I have the kids practice one or two yoga poses EVERY time. So, this book is RIGHT up my alley :) From page one, I enjoyed this picture book. Watchi "The more yoga you do, the more stretchy you will become." YESSSSSSS! So, this book is RIGHT up my alley :) From page one, I enjoyed this picture book. Watching Yak go from uncertainty and negative thoughts to empowering and confident ones is exactly what yoga feels like for any new beginner. Heck, I still have those thoughts every now and again when I'm faced with a challenging pose! I really like how the illustrations show the animals at the beginning of class sitting in the positions most comfortable for them. It's so important when starting a yoga practice--especially for kids!--to know yoga should never hurt. And it's these little things in the dialogue, and illustrations, that give a strong nod to yoga. Also, the pictures, and instructor, explain how yoga is a constant practice, show it doesn't have to be perfect; it's a learning process. And my favorite parts are the visual images the little yogis picture in their minds while mimicing poses. Super cute and realistic! This is the first in the series, and I'm looking forward to more of Happy Panda. *Thanks to love books tours and the publisher for a gifted copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Yaks CAN do yoga! A story about fitting in, finding your true self and dancing when no one else is watching! A must read for children who suffer with anxiety. The illustrations were absolutely beautiful, and Lily had so much so practicing the yoga poses along with her new animal friends.

4.5⭐️ First off, the cover is so cute. And the title of already makes it interesting. Secondly, the story line is easy to follow and great examples in how to do yoga. The steps are easy to follow and I find it interesting. It is also very colorful and fun. One issue is that it is an electronic version and I couldn’t really get the full benefit of a picture book out of it. Definitely recommend purchasing it hardcover vs ebook.

This story is such a great way to introduce children to Yoga for the first time as well as delivering an important message to perserve and not give up! It encourages them to reflect and be calm, improves concentration as well as keeping children healthy and strong. This book really demonstrates all of these healthy traits as well as being a great humorous story. The illustrations are gorgeous and very clearly demonstrate each of the Yoga moves which are easy to learn. The characters are also so adorable! There is a great recap of each part of the yoga session at the end. I can definitely imagine sharing this book in school with children in an early years/infant class and it would make a great calming session to help promote self esteem and a healthy mindset. I'm sure the children would love it.

I loved the section which recaps the poses, discussing the benefits of each one, and providing clear safety tips. For over 10 years I worked with children who were struggling in mainstream schooling, often exhibiting extreme behaviours and in some cases at risk of exclusion or excluded. These included very young primary children who found the classroom a difficult environment. I often suggested yoga as a strategy but resources were stretched and in the rural settings that I visited yoga teachers were not available. I think that this would be an invaluable resource in the classroom, perfect for all teachers to use confidently. I wish that I had had a copy of this book to give to them!
There are so very many ways this could be used in a classroom and at home to reduce anxiety and promote happy mental and physical health. It’s a beautiful and timely book and resource.

Yaks Can Do Yoga - Sneza Dilovc Firstly I love that kids these days do yoga. This book gives children all the benefits in participation with fun illustrations along the way. I adored all the characters from the panda to the lion and also the monkey. The characters were so cute. The book engages children in a way where they want to join in and participate whilst reading. I can imagine there be lots of fun and giggles whilst breathing, drawing rainbows and trying to balance on one foot. It was adorable that even though Yak struggled the panda helped encourage in so many wonderful ways. There is a real feel for the importance of not giving up and continuing to try and try again. Even when it’s your first time your not expected to be an expert. It put a huge smile on my face when yak and crocodile worked together to form a unit. A team. Mostly important that they formed a new friendship. The importance was shared for children not to do this alone and to make sure you have an adult with you. Additionally, if at any point it feels uncomfortable then to stop. This was such a cute read.

This is a beautifully illustrated book about a yak who tries to do difficult yoga poses with some help from his friends. This was a perfect read with my goddaughter. She is 5 and enjoyed the book. We both tried some yoga poses together, and turned out I am the poor yak here. It was so worth it at the end. We spent a quality time, thanks to the book. She got so excited about it later and continues to do yoga here and there with her mum. It's not just a simple children's book, but it also teaches the benefit of yoga (and exercising), which I feel is something even we adults can learn from. I have enjoyed this book along with my little goddaughter and I think it would be perfect for you and your little ones too.

Adam (5): I liked reading about the different animals and the pictures. I can copy the pictures and try and do what the animals do. Stretching is good for your body. Rachel: this is such a fab book. It encourages children to try something new and keep fit. It’s also a great story about not giving up. The wee yak tried and tried and eventually succeeded which is a brilliant message to give to children.

Yaks can do Yoga is a lovely illustrated book with lots of animals including a Yak doing Yoga! There are 8 yoga poses in the book that children can try at home and it is such fun to join in with. The story is fun and very visual so that children can join in as they read. The boys really enjoyed doing some of the yoga poses! They had been watching it on TV throughout the lockdown so they are excited to now have a book too!

My children who are 6 and 8 enjoyed listening to me reading this story. Yaks can do yoga too Is a book that everyone needs to read, every teacher needs to have it on their school bookshelves, just cause a child is “different” doesn’t mean they can’t do what normal children do. The pictures are really bright and colourful and kid friendly which adds to the book.

This was such a cute story! I loved how it explains yoga poses to children. There isn't anything too complicated. I also enjoyed the friendship that developed in the end. It had very realistic situations. I don't want too much away. You are just going to have to read it to your kids! I highly recommend it! It would be an amazing story to discuss with your young child. This gorgeous book is brilliant for little ones. The illustrations are beautiful, I know when I read it, the animals were so engaging, kids enjoyed choosing which animal they were going to be before performing the yoga moves. It details how we all find things hard especially learning a new skill, with perseverance and resilience we can get better and master new skills- just like the Yak!
