Very Good!! Rachel Wesson's stories are so real and grab one into the story --and this one is no exception! The characters become real people to the reader - I wanted to read faster to find out what happens next to each one! A Good Story As WW2 begins the reader follows two different young ladies who develop an unlikely relationship. This is a novel about love, friendship, loss and family.

A thoroughly enjoyable read. Set mainly in London, and beginning just prior to World War II, this is a compelling story of the friendship between a young girl recently arrived from France with a member of the staff in her new home. A beautifully penned story with excellent characters; I found this enjoyable saga hard to put down, and I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

Gracie… This book was so very good. First of all Gracie is such a firecracker at times, she made me laugh and feel sorry for her as well, and Penny, such a strong young lady fighting the class distinction and yet very faithful to her dear friend. It’s easy to “see” the characters so vividly. Love them all.

Super good read! I can hardly wait to get the next book! The characters were life like, the plot intriguing and war time England was factual and real. Life in the military seemed to be much the same during WW 2, as it was during my tenure in the Air Force. Thanks for a really excellent read!!

Interesting book Really enjoyed reading about Gracie and Penny. It's a fast paced book set amid the second world war. Very descriptive of the conditions at that time. I found the story to be a little dull. The main character is Gracie but I found Penny’s character to be much more interesting.
