Y'all...I used to avoid 2nd Chance Romance, but I'm really starting to like them! And DON'T LET THE MUSIC DIE is a seriously good one! These two are pissed at each other and I loved every minute of it. I loved Matt so hard! Even when pissed, Matt shows his Cinnamon Roll Hero deliciousness. His sweet moments surrounding Avery's anxiety issues will melt-your-heart. And his own back story and insecurities are a breath of fresh air I never see in romance these days. I loved her Avery's quirks, her work ethic, and her care for her family. I loved the portrayal of her Anxiety Disorder. It was well-written and realistic. And you know I love a book that promotes Therapy! As these two get closer and past secrets are revealed I had a bit of a hard time with the nature of the secret. Maybe I am an unfairly judgmental a**hole...? But it's a hard one to reconcile while still loving the character. That was why I removed a star from my rating. But, YOU might have no issue with her past so ignore me and read this book!! I especially love the male friendships within the musical group at the heart of this series! They are supportive and talk to each other while their interactions remain completely believable. There is a decent amount of teasing that goes with their supportive moments. I love these guys and can't wait for future books about each of them.🎵 Overall, this was a great book! Matt and Avery are swoony and sexy with a huge dose of sweet! I don’t think I have ever read a second chance romance, but I can say that I definitely enjoyed Don’t Let The Music Die. At the same time, the beginning of this book gave me enemies to lovers vibes, which I’m always in for. Don’t Let The Music Die deals with so much important topics. I really loved Matt. He is such a fun character, but at the same time he’s dealing with his own insecurities, which were written down so beautifully by Boyle. I also think Avery’s anxiety is portrayed so well. The “secret” Avery hid from Matt is one I guessed at around 50% of the book already, but I still doubted if I was right from time to time. It didn’t bother me that I had “guessed” it long before. Matt and Avery's Story . . . I really enjoyed this second chance romance! It was put together so well and the characters, Matt Taylor and Avery Lind, were wonderful and likable. Yes, there was anger when the two meet up again after 9 years apart, but they slowly worked things out. Matt’s compassion and support is remarkable. Each will have issues that need to be resolved and the trust they lost will need to be rebuilt. Will they settle the rocky past that tore them apart? Will they accept a second chance to put their relationship back together and try again? And will they clear the air of secrets as they learn to communicate and know they are there for each other always?

ask anyone who knows me and they'll tell you i avoid second chance romances like a plague bc they just DO NOT work for me; however i decided to give this one a chance since i loved the first book in the series and i'm glad i did because this one turned out to be a delight! in under 300 pages the author makes us feel for these characters and their relationship while balancing their issues very well. i'll be looking forward to the rest of the series! ask anyone who knows me and they'll tell you i avoid second chance romances like a plague bc they just DO NOT work for me; however i decided to give this one a chance since i loved the first book in the series and i'm glad i did because this one turned out to be a delight! in under 300 pages the author makes us feel for these characters and their relationship while balancing their issues very well. i'll be looking forward to the rest of the series!

Don't Let the Music Die is the second in the Storyhill Musicians series from Annmarie Boyle but it also works great as a standalone contemporary romance. I loved Avery's commitment to forging her own path in her family and her career - super badass! Matt is the pining hero of my dreams. He has been in love with Avery practically his entire life and he treats her like royalty. It was also fun to spend time with characters from the first book in the series. I look forward to reading other books in this series! Content warnings: anxiety, parental abandonment, brief mention of pregnancy loss Thanks to the author for the gifted copy! Matt Taylor stepped onto the stage in front of a sold-out screaming crowd begging for an encore. It was hard to believe that just eight months ago their label threatened to drop them if they didn't write an all-original album. But look at them now! They are debuting their new album at the Ryman Auditorium to a sold-out audience. The Ryman, a place for legends like Elvis and BB King! This where Johnny met June, but somehow he, Andrew, Blake, Nick, and Joe, a five man country a capella group, Storyhill, made it. And they're making more history tonight as the legendary songwriter Grace O'Connor, who co-wrote the album with their bassist, is standing on stage in shock as Andrew is on his knees proposing. Taking Matt back nine years when it was him on his knees. Six years of dating and she said 'no' and walked away. Everyone thought he was all flash, no substance. Good looking, good for a flirt and a good f#ck, but nothing else. Why couldn't anyone see beyond the surface? Avery was trying to treat today like any other day, but today the Avery Lind Show, country music's morning show, is airing their first national syndicated show. She finds out 30 minutes before air time that her first guest had to cancel due to laryngitis. If only she had seen the email sent last night, she wouldn't have been shocked speechless when she turns around to see that her interview will now be with Matt Taylor. She has a new name, new hair color, maybe he won't recognize her. And nine years have brought some changes to Matt also - how did she not know he was related to Thor? Why does he have to look so good? I loved this book. I fell in love with the band in LOVE ME LIKE A LOVE SONG and I am more in love with them after reading this book. The book is well written and the characters dig into your heart. Avery made decisions and designed her life from misconceptions and didn't know how to right her wrongs. Matt is gorgeous and charismatic, but has serious self-image issues thinking no one took him seriously because of his looks. This book has a wonderful storyline and I really connected with all of the characters. I smiled, laughed and had a few tears. I seriously couldn't put this book down. Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the band, and maybe Avery's sister, get up to in the future!

Matt has been in love with her from a very early age and was rejected by her. During the course of the book they both try to deal with what happened in the past. I couldn’t put the book down because I just wanted to find out what would happen with the two protagonists.

Matt is the gorgeous sexy rockstar who is still angry about Avery’s rejection of his marriage proposal and that was nine years ago. I’m loving this story because there is still so much anger in Matt. Avery is interviewing him and she’s just twisted up and Matt I think is so cool. I love his character and he’s so sweet and still madly in love with Avery. She’s crazy about him too but she’s kept a secret and the reason why she rejected him nine years ago. I believe this is my first book by this author and after reading this I will definitely be reading more. Somehow in only 277 pages I was invested in the characters and completely engrossed in their world and the plot. I’m so happy the Storyhill boys are back! I loved this story, it was angsty in the best possible way. I felt the conflict coming and was still surprised by the twist. Fabulous: I loved this second chance, slow burn romance and how although it was set within the music industry, it was more about reconnecting and starting again. After a difficult breakup, both Matt and Avery were trying to break free and find success in the respective careers. It was awkward when they ran into each other 9 years later and became even more challenging when they found themselves having to work together. Sparks flew but beneath it all neither could refute the intense feelings they still had for one another. Both characters were flawed and I enjoyed seeing them work through their issues and misperceptions. I was rooting for them all the way. The only thing that I found a little annoying is that the little boy in the story is supposed to be 3 but his speech and behavior was much more typical of a younger child and he was often referred to as being a "toddler". Despite that, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to see who's story is next. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book 2 in Boyle's Storyhill Musician's series and provides us with the second chance love story between Storyhill singer Matt Taylor and Amy Lynn, aka Avery Lind. Country music is a small world and these two find out just how small when reunited after almost a decade. While love and chemistry was never their problem, something IS between them. Never judge a book by its cover - or a rock star by his face! I thorougly enjoyed this book and once I got started, could not put it down! It is beautifully written with quite a bit of humor to make me smile, enough heartache to make my eyes wet and some very real life problems and hardships to save it from being just another sweet love story. I loved this second chance romance story! It was beautifully written and the characters of Matt and Avery are perfectly imperfect! This is the second book involving the Storyhill country singing group, it is a stand-alone. It is nice to catch up with Grace and Andrew if you have read the first one, though. Matt's the whole package - gorgeous, talented and charming as all get out, never mind a successful musician. But he's tired of being judged for his looks, especially when he has so much more substance to offer. But when he turns up, he is stunned to find the woman who stole his heart years before behind the microphone. A charming second chance romance that made me have a hard time putting it down. It was a very sweet story about two people seeing each other for the first time after a rejected marriage proposal nine years earlier. They still have feeling for each other, but they are both dealing with their own issues that keeps them apart. I really fell for both the main characters and quickly rooted for both of them. Really enjoyed continuing the Storyhill journey. Matt is the face of the group and Avery is behind the screen in radio. Fate brought them back into each other's lives. I LOVE hearing more from Andrew and Grace, as well as getting to know the other secondary characters better. Annemarie Boyle does a beautiful job setting the scene for the rest of the books in the series. I am quite looking forward to the books to come. This love story was a long one and there was painful history to overcome. Had Really enjoyed continuing the Storyhill journey. Matt is the face of the group and Avery is behind the screen in radio. This love story was a long one and there was painful history to overcome. Had me in tears at times. I always enjoy when challenging topics that I can relate to are broached and this book delivered on the anxiety front. We all walk through life to our own song, so to speak, some people's little ticks are more obvious. Doesn't make them wrong. And when you find that person that accepts your ticks and all, you hold on tight. Something in Avery and Matt's interactions fell flat for me. Her excuses felt thin at best. It didn't ruin the book for me though. Enjoyed how this played and would recommend this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I read this book in two sittings. I just couldn't put it down! Avery has a secret, and while I had correctly guessed what the secret was I was INVESTED. Sometimes guessing correctly can feel like a bummer, but not in this case for me. I was on the edge of my seat just waiting for the news to drop. When it inevitably was revealed, I was a bit disappointed in Matt's reaction and that whole scene (it just felt a bit expected and not 100% who Matt is) but it does not deter the 4 stars I give this bo I read this book in two sittings. I really enjoyed this second chance romance story. After nine years apart and lots of questions Matt and Avery run into each other’s lives. I have to say Matt handles everything very well. If I was in his place I would go to straight to wanting answers the second I saw her again. But he acts professionally and takes it slow. This was a very quick and fun read! I’m hoping for more Storyhill love stories!

This was such a fun read! I enjoyed the story of country artists in Nashville and the romance that ensues. I liked the fact that the book was sensual in nature but not overly steamy. The characters were well developed and the author left me wanting to know more about all of them. I hope there will be a sequel. Very good story! Avery and Matt had made lives but had never really “moved on”. Chance, or the universe, decided it was time to bring them together. A really moving story, love and loss and maybe forgiveness. Who are they REALLY making the sacrifices for? A good balance of dialogue and thought. Both Avery and Matt had issues to resolve and I loved how Grace and Nick gave advice and support. Great read! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was my first read from this author. I really liked the story because I love reading about musicians. However, the third person point of view of writing is a deal breaker for me so 4 stars from me. But I will be reading more from this author in the future. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
