Three Tainted Teas is the 3rd novel in the Kitchen Witch Mysteries written by Lynn Cahoon. This is the fourth or fifth series I've begun reading by the cozy mystery author and all have been superb. In this collection, Mia Malone has innate witchcraft talents but her grandmother must help her figure out how to use them. After Mia steps in to plan a wedding (the first planner was fired) between a shifter family and a witch family, things get worse. Someone ends up dead... Mia's being threatened by a member of the wedding party or family who doesn't what the two sects to merge... and someone is trying to break into the school she's been renovating. How's it all connected? I really enjoyed the background details on the various families in Magic Springs, Idaho, as well as the development of the werewolf species and the witch clan. Mia's relationship with Trent is growing nicely, and the close connections to Christina and Levi round out the side stories, even James (chef) at a local restaurant. I really want to fix the cat / human issues tho (someone got trapped inside the cat's body during death - long story). I liked the mystery but felt like the culprit's reasoning could've been more defined and incorporated into the various scenes. It made sense but needed a little more backstory. Overall, a winner!

Three Tainted Teas by Lynn Cahoon is the third full length book in the paranormal cozy Kitchen Witch Mysteries series. The Kitchen Witch Mysteries also have three novellas in the series along with the three full length novels which include a prequel to open the whole series. As with most cozy mysteries though each of these books does contain it’s own mystery that will be fully solved within the book so they can be read as a standalone or in any order if choosing to do so. There is character development that carries over from book to book for those that follow the series from the beginning. In the prequel novella in the series readers were introduced to Mia Malone who had traveled back to her hometown of Magic Springs, Idaho at the urging of her grandmother who Mia fondly calls Grans. Magic Springs is a place where magic is out in the open and Mia’s family is far from normal with Mia inheriting her Grans magical abilities and she now uses that witchcraft to create her tasty culinary treats. Since that trip back to Magic Springs though Mia’s world had fallen apart with Mia finding herself single when her boyfriend left her and also became unemployed. Mia decided that the best thing to do was to return to Magic Springs for good where she could use her magic in a gourmet dinner delivery business. Now that Mia’s business is running she has been asked to help with a wedding when the wedding planner needed replaced. When Mia goes to meet the previous planner to get the details she instead finds the woman murdered so to keep the wedding on track Mia knows a murderer needs to be found, fast! Lynn Cahoon is a cozy author that I know well having read several of her series from the beginning, including the Kitchen Witch Mysteries series. The Kitchen Witch Mysteries series is a little different from the others I’ve read with it being paranormal with a witchy lead but it’s just as much fun and plenty of laughs that I’ve come to expect from this writer’s cozies. The characters are likable and the mystery in this one was fitting the paranormal theme and interesting to follow so I’ll definitely be interested to returning to this series again in the future. Three Tainted Teas was a fun read. I have read this series from the beginning. The story takes place in a town called Magic Springs. Mia has never been a wedding planner but says she will do it. This is a wedding between two families one a witch and the other is shape shifting wolves (werewolves). The wedding takes place at The Lodge. The two families don't seem to get along. There is someone who does not want this wedding to happen. Mia goes to the lodge to meet with Chelsea to get the papers needed of things that have been done. Mia goes to her room at the lodge and finds Chelsea murdered in her bed. Things start to happen wjith spells, arrests, suspicion, poisons, threats, etc. The wedding comes to a surprised conclusion. To thank everyone who helped her with the wedding, Mia takes them to Time for a Cuppa for tea owned by Mahogany Medford.. While there Mahogany asks Mia if she can find out why her mother died. This is probably the next advent;ure in this series Thank you NetGalley and Kenington Publishing Corp for this ARC.

Three Tainted Teas by Lynn Cahoon is a spirited tale. I enjoy visiting Magic Springs to catch up with Mia, Christine, Grans, and the other characters. There is a great cast of characters in this series. They are warm, friendly people who are slightly quirky. Mia Malone is a kitchen witch who has taken an old school building and turned it into her home plus the base of Mia Morsel’s, her catering business. In Three Tainted Teas, Mia is asked to become a wedding planner at the last minute for the nuptials of Amethyst and Tok. Mia is soon glad that she charged double her normal fee when meets the combatting families. It turns out that Tok’s family are shifters. Neither family is happy with the union. When Chelsea, the former wedding planner, is found dead in her room, it is obvious someone wants to stop the nuptials. Mia has no intention of letting that happen despite controlling parents, manipulations, and threats. Three Tainted Teas is the third book in The Kitchen Witch Mysteries. It can be read as a standalone, but I believe it is better to read in order (or at least read One Poison Pie). It will allow you to get to know the characters and the history of the school. I like Lynn Cahoon’s writing style. It is lighthearted and casual (makes for good reading). The characters are like old friends. I picked up Three Tainted Teas and finished it within a few hours. I like the humor sprinkled throughout the story and I love the paranormal elements. The whodunit has a large suspect pool since many of the guests and family members do not want the couple to wed. There are clues to help readers solve the crime as well as misdirection. There are threats and sabotage that leaves Mia scared but determined to make sure the wedding takes place. I thought the murder was a snap to solve, but I kept reading to see what would happen next (to see if this wedding would occur or not). There is a hint at the end of what will occur in the next A Kitchen Witch Mystery. Three Tainted Teas is a howling good time with a fly-by-night friend, wedding planning woes, a departed planner, feuding families, terrorizing threats, a battling book, mouthwatering meals, and one fatigued kitchen witch.

While this series is best enjoyed read in order, this book is so exciting that anyone who enjoys paranormal mysteries or the adventure of planning a wedding will also love turning each page. When a friend of Mia's assistant Christina persuades them to get involved in a wedding involving two wealthy families that don't seem at all compatible, they end up in a combination of Romeo and Juliet and The Hatfields and McCoys. Where to duck and cover and how to withdraw gracefully when the wedding is less than weeks away? Plus the money is "can't say no to." The magic flies and danger comes right to Mia's doorstep as she has to undo damage done by the previous wedding planner and someone else. But who? There are people on both sides who don't want this marriage to happen. The characters are wonderful and their own relationships are growing in each book. I love the world building and imagery. I wish I could attend this wedding. Although the animals remain in the background for this adventure, they do have some influence. Pick it up, enjoy and read all the previous books so you are ready for whatever comes next.

Three Tainted Teas is the 3rd book in the Kitchen Witch Mystery series by Lynn Cahoon. I absolutely LOVE this series. The setting of the story takes place in the small town of Magic Springs. The mystery was perfectly plotted with twists that kept me guessing until the very end. I highly recommend this book and the entire Kitchen Witch Series!!!

The bride’s family doesn’t flinch at the premium fees Mia quotes for her services, but Mia soon begins to regret her involvement. She learns of a feud between the bride’s coven and the groom’s tribe of shape-shifting wolves, and the fathers hate each other! It gets worse with the demands made by the McManns and the push back by the Uzzis, the groom’s brother hitting on Mia, and the disgraced wedding planner crashing the party and having a shouting match with the bride’s father. But’s it’s the bloody dead body that makes the whole event a disaster. Lynn Cahoon’s third full-length book is an exciting drama with a inter-magical wedding introducing new “creatures” to her Kitchen Witch world and developing a fascinating lore around these shape shifters. The mystery is well-crafted with surprises, twists, peril, and a karma-filled finale, and the witches vs wolves feud was a nice nod to Montagues vs. Capulets or better yet…the Hatfields vs. McCoys. The characters are diverse in personality, ability, and motivation, and the dynamics between family, friends, and the pairs of lovers are realistic and endearing. Mia has had her own challenging relationship with magic, and following her evolving discovery is entertaining. There are a few comments that refer to past events like secret passages, background of the school’s facility, insights into Mia’s heritage, locating people involved in building the facility, the area’s history, and Mr. Darcy the cat’s predicament, but it’s easy for newbies to follow. Big favorite! What’s in the kitchen? There’s a kitchen witch, of course, and always some “no magic required” recipes, too! What do you do with those “bought too many” peaches? Try this Magically Easy Peach Crisp. Enjoy!  Disclosure: I received an ARC from Kensington thru NetGalley. My review is voluntary with honest insights and comments.

I picked up Three Tainted Teas without having read the other books in this series (it’s #3, but there are also a couple of novellas in addition to books 1 and 2). Mia runs a catering business in an Idaho town called Magic Springs, not too far from real Twin Falls and Boise. The town is unique in that a good number of the residents are witches/warlocks. Mia has some witchy abilities but she mostly tries not to use them, it seems. (Maybe there’s something in the earlier books that would have told me why.) She is asked to fill in at almost the last minute as a wedding planner for a wedding that involves two long-feuding families (one witching family and one shifter family!). Since this is a mystery series, someone does wind up dead - the previously fired wedding planner! Mia quickly figures out that someone is trying to prevent this marriage. It was fun to read all the tasks a wedding planner has to accomplish, especially under such trying circumstances. You will enjoy this book if you like a bit of paranormal along with your mysteries. The supporting characters are fun and I’d like to know more about some of them. Note: The title makes no sense with the story. I guess the author is using numbers in her titles for the full-length books in the series (one, two, three) but there's nothing about tainted teas in this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read an advance readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I got to meet kitchen witch Mia Malone who is the owner of Mia's Morsels, in book one, 'One Poison Pie'. In this novel, Three Tainted Teas, Mia's business is thriving and she has accepted an eleventh-hour job as the wedding planner for Amethyst and Tok's wedding in Magic Springs, Idaho, but the respective families do not get along and somebody dies. All of the characters are amusing, relatable, and many have a good rapport with one other. In Magic Springs, Idaho, ghosts, warlocks and the paranormal are welcomed. I really enjoyed this compelling story and I continue to find Mia endearing and caring. Mia's boyfriend, Trent, is also a witch though he is non-practising and their relationship is growing. The writing is smooth, the plot strong and comfortably paced, and the puzzling mystery kept me guessing. All in all, a fabulous instalment with a few possibilities and the characters added humour and variety. I will certainly be returning to Palm Springs to see what Mia and her mates are getting up to next time. I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Business is bubbling at Mia’s catering service and cooking school, Mia’s Morsels, but toil and trouble are not far behind. Mia just accepted her toughest gig yet: last-minute wedding planner for Magic Springs’ own Romeo and Juliet. Though the small town is fairly accepting of magic, two families have been locked in a vicious feud spanning generations. Unfortunately for both families, they’re about to become in-laws! Amethyst and Tok are excited to wed in a few weeks and somehow Mia must ensure the event is flawless. But when she goes to pick up paperwork from the couple’s previous wedding planner, Mia discovers the woman murdered in an apparent attempt to stop the contentious union. Now, not only is Mia a prime suspect, as the new planner she may also be the killer’s next target. Backed by her squad, her charms—literal and figurative—and a protective amulet from her Grans, it’s up to Mia to save the star-crossed couple’s wedding, her professional reputation…and maybe even her life! (NetGalley synopsis) I have read all of Lynn Cahoon’s Kitchen Witch Mystery series, both novels and novellas, and I absolutely adore them. I find the novels to be quick and fun reads for all seasons. I especially love the recipes in the back. I was slightly disappointed because I expected a tea and scones type recipe at the end. I don’t know much about peach crisps so maybe that’s what it is. Please let me know if I’m wrong here. I love Mia and Trent’s relationship. I felt this novel was a mix of plot and character driven, because it wasn’t just Mia and Trent that the readers got to experience. There were plenty of glimpses at Christina and Levi, and we finally were introduced to the Majors mother, Abigail. I do hope that future novels introduce the rest of the Majors family. The father was mentioned but there weren’t any descriptive scenes with him or the other brother. The interaction and discussions from two different witch families, and one human, were interesting, too. It was easier for me to see that Mia and Trent were almost starting their own scion, which reminded me of another paranormal series. The other personality trait I like about Mia is her determination. She is absolutely certain that she will get Mia’s Morsels up and running. Which is a sentiment that she brings into the wedding planning. She is warned over and over about the two families and how they act, but she takes charge, making everything run smoothly for Amethyst and Tok. I wish I had half of her determination and will power. The mystery was even more particular to this type of genre than in previous novels. With a witch and shifter wedding, and the feud attached to their histories, I felt that Mia (and the reader) were beginning to get into the mysteries of the school and Mia’s own family. The author leaves a wonderful set up into the next novel, but I do hope that we (the readers) get to learn more about Magic Springs’ paranormal connections. It seems like there is much potential for future novels just waiting for the author to expand on. I will give away one spoiler and that is that I feel the synopsis is wrong in one fact. No where in the novel was Mia ever a prime suspect. I believe that these things are added to the synopsis because someone thinks it will draw in attention, but I feel that it is redundant as each novel’s synopsis has something similar. It was nice to go through the book without Mia being scrutinized by the police every time something happened. Overall I rate this novel 5 out of 5 stars.

ARC Kindle Copy from Review from Net Galley and Kensington Books. I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review. It’s a bad sign when you find the previous wedding planner dead on arrival. What was supposed to be a pick up notes turned criminal; especially, when you find that the ex wedding planner was hired to disrupt the wedding. The happy couple finds themselves in the middle of a feud as their families are not happy of their upcoming nuptials. Our wed ARC Kindle Copy from Review from Net Galley and Kensington Books. In Three Tainted Teas by Lynn Cahoon, the third book in her Kitchen Witch Mysteries series, kitchen witch Mia Malone gets asked, last minute, to replace a murdered wedding planner. Someone doesn't want Amethyst from a witch family to marry Tok, a wolf shifter. Mia, Trent, Christina, Levi and Gran have their work cut out for them to save the wedding and find the guilty party.I love these characters and all the magic in these stories. This whodunit is a great addition to the series. Mia gets a chance to try her hand at being a wedding planner! Unfortunately it is for 2 magic families that seems to each want their own way, and someone really doesn't want this wedding to go ahead at all! I love this series and watching the characters change and the story grow has been wonderful. I have enjoyed every visit to Magic Springs and hope to keep coming back again and again. If you haven't read any books in this series I would recommend starting from the beginning, each story adds to Mia gets a chance to try her hand at being a wedding planner! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. This is one of those mysteries where I wish the main character, or any of the others, were more observant. The obvious person is mentioned early and often. This particular person isn't exactly subtle with their actions and yet Mia and the others don't put two and two together until it's almost too late. http://pussreboots.com/blog/2022/comm... The Kitchen Witch series is lovely. Three Tainted Teas is the third book in the series and unfortunately, I have not read the first two. I definitely suggest reading them in order. It seems that there is a continuing storyline that connects all the past and future books in the series. As a result, I occasionally felt lost while reading those sections of the story. The plot of this book was great, however. I enjoyed the hint of magical elements and the characters were easy to read and relate to. The Kitchen Witch series is lovely. Wedding planning nightmares, family feuds, and lots of possible suspects for the murder kept me absorbed. Mia Malone, our main character, was a delightful heroine. Her motivations for her actions were reasonable and I enjoyed her developing relationship with Trent. I will be starting from the beginning with this series as It is very well done and I would like to catch all the details about the school that I missed. Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the arc.
