I so appreciate this series for the diverse selection of stories in each volume which efficiently "take me away," as an old commercial promoted, each transporting me to a new venue, whether Contemporary or historical. These fine authors, familiar or new, collaborate to provide hours of reading enjoyment and spine-tingling chills as they SUBTLY turn up the horror. Great stuff. It may sound trite, but Scare Street just keeps on producing the kind of horror that keeps me coming back for more. I've said this before but it still remains true. This volume has stories with more "nontraditional" frights, things like mysterious bugs that bite and turn the victim into bigger bugs, attractive women who prepare meals that have eerie effects on the diner and, as a special treat, a continuation of the haunted hotel story presented in the last volume of this series.

Many of the authors presented here also have series of their own going on. These volumes of short stories are an excellent way to get to know them and their writing. I highly recommend them.
