The Rah invasion fleet had been chased from the solar system leaving incredible devastation in its wake. However the aliens continue to raid the planets, moon, settlements and ships thanks to the ability to use the "portals" their method of FTL propulsion. Thankfully reverse engineering Rah ships has allowed humanity to partially emulate the portal technology in a very crude fashion and with hints that there is a race out there who defeated the Rah's the Starship Freedom along with a few support vessels jumps a thousand light years to the Aeolia system in search of help but find that the Rah's have been busy and all the skill and luck will be required if any of them are to return home. For Death of Freedom once again delivered some good quality space opera, new ships/crews were most welcome and the expansion of the "theatre" to include new star systems opens up the story to an almost limitless extent. Looking forward to the fifth book.

The mightiest warship built to defend the Earth With a small fleet, Admiral James "Bulldog" King searched for the Aeolian people or their ruins to find how they were the only species to defeat the Rah. Well, that didn't work, of course, but they have a few more ideas to try before all of them are served on platters to the damn spiders. The search may be hopeless, but they had to do something! All the right characters performing their utmost and still not enough, all the best hardware on the planet The mightiest warship built to defend the Earth With a small fleet, Admiral James "Bulldog" King searched for the Aeolian people or their ruins to find how they were the only species to defeat the Rah. All the right characters performing their utmost and still not enough, all the best hardware on the planet - out fought, out thought, out played on a chessboard parsecs wide. Admiral King and his crew face devastation and ruin, for them, for the Earth, for all humans everywhere. Never has humanity fought so hard, so futilely. They can't give up. They can't let despair rule their minds and actions. There has to be a way, if they have the time to find it! Great characters, great storyline, a master storyteller - all together equals an amazing, page burning masterpiece! This is a great read.

Edge of seat action A portal opens and the small fleet jumps 1,000 light years away, but the portal closes and there's no way home, or is there? The lone test pilot is found but in what shape? Prepare for space battles and the small fleet protected by "Freedom". What kind of enemy is this? You'll have to read it to find out. For Death or Freedom The flies through the portal. The Tyranny was waiting for her. Both ships beating the neck out of each other. The Freedom is hurt and a thousand light years from home. The battle continues.

That spider-like Rah create a human spider mutant specifically to conquer humanity and their put on an ultimate behemoth ship named the Tyranny. To paraphrase Slim Pickins in the movie Blazing Saddles, "There's a hootin' & a hollerin', A whompin' & a stompin'." Humanity is down but not out. Cracking Storyline Well another great storyline with plenty of blood and guts action with just a touch of romance lol. Just a shame King is getting beaten at every turn.

Yet another book bites the dust End of one battle, into another. I try not to spend any money on books but so far I've been buying. Yet another book bites the dust End of one battle, into another. I try not to spend any money on books but so far I've been buying.

A great series Awesome story . Can't wait for the next book. Hopefully we never see Aliens like these. But I could see our civilization coming together to fight. A great series Awesome story .
