Mild spoilers A bit disappointed. I have loved all of the mafia books by this author, but this one just had too much back and forth and pushing away, and the heroine really got on my nerves. Nothing was ever good enough for her. On one hand, I like that she didn't give up so easily, but on the other, it was a bit grating. I have loved all of the mafia books by this author, but this one just had too much back and forth and pushing away, and the heroine really got on my nerves. Nothing was ever good enough for her. On one hand, I like that she didn't give up so easily, but on the other, it was a bit grating. I was happy when they started finally making up, but then the next scene completely ruined it for me 😅 I had a feeling something would happen since the hero is such an exhibitionist and he definitely gave off sharing vibes, but I was hoping this wouldn't happen, especially since he's so obsessed with her, and because I actually wanted to read a book about Bishop, but the scene completely ruined it for me. It's nothing super big, but the first time they are about to have sex after they make up, the hero invites the friend into the room as the hero is fingering the heroine. The friend put his thumb in her mouth, they say how lucky he is and blah, and hero said he would definitely share her with him but she isn't ready yet. So this will probably be in their future. It also didn't make sense as Bishop made a big deal about their exhibitionist ways and him always nagging them, and if Bishop ends up with the sister, which I'm getting vibes from, that's pretty gross, and already makes me feel bad for her 😅 I know the author used a similar scene like this in her rock star books but none in her previous mafia ones, and I was hoping she wouldn't, but this ruins it for me as I like my heros more possessive. I definitely wish I would have known before I read (this was NOT mentioned in the content warnings) which means no more arcs for me from this author, and probably no more mafia or Rockstar books from her either since this isn't really my jam and it makes me more skeptical of future books in this world now. When did it become the norm calling a hero "possessive" and "obsessive" but have him completely fine with sharing 🙃 oh well, I guess I'll have to be happy with no heros in this world meeting up to Decker and Hunter's standards😅 *Arc provided in exchange of an honest review* Safety deets: No ow/om drama- but dead gf and dead husband are mentioned a lot No cheating No virgins/manhoes Sharing- yes hero likes to have people watch them and heroine naked, and then brings his friend into the bedroom with them with a hint of future sharing

I hate this heroine in this book. TOO MUCH OF PUSHING AWAY AND LITTLE ROMANCE CAUSE THE HEROINE ALWAYS RUINS IT. I want to strangle her! I GIVE IT 3 STARS BECAUSE OF THE HERO, ONLY FOR HIM. ‼️‼️‼️This is the second book. ‼️‼️‼️READ THE FIRST BOOK AND I HAVE A FULL REVIEW ABOUT IT SO CHECK IT OUT. The heroine was planning to get her revenge on someone who killed her husband. She then meet the hero, the hero already knows who she is after he always see her around couple of times. He is SOOOO obsessed with the heroine at first sight that he lies about his identify that has something to do with the people who killed her husband. HE DIDN'T KILLED HER HUSBAND, His family did for their own reason. THE HERO DOESN'T KNOW because he was out from his family for freakin years, like when he was adult enough and have many money he cut that out from his life. He cuts his family off and have nothing to deal with them anymore with their crimes. The hero didn't tell the heroine right away about his family because for him, that was his past. Which is respectful if i may add. The hero really fcking did pursue her and not afraid to tell her, the heroine slowly accept the hero's request to have a date with him. They have a great kinda relationship, read my review on the first book to know more about it.... SO In the end of the first book, the heroine found out who the hero is and who's his family. She got so mad about it and starts to blaming the hero about everything... Which is not fcking fair. Like why you blame someone who's not even responsible for your husband's life😂😂 That was even before he even know the heroine. So for her to be mad like he killed her parents is so extremely stupid. She even got so mad that the hero saves her from a attack and for quite some time the hero knew who the heroine is but didn't tell her who he really is. The hero also did couple of things like had her been robbed by someone he knows so he can get her cards to know her name because he was obsessed and want her so bad... But that's not even entirely wrong, because the fcking heroine was too stupid to not even gave her real name to the heroine couple of times when they first meet. So he did that, that's not even a big problem. The big problem is the heroine's brain that seems too stupid to function 😒😒😒🤬 ‼️‼️‼️And now the second book, Which is this one. At first, the heroine is too stupid seriously it's annoying to see a stupid heroine because I want my womans in the novel to be smart and strong. But this one, she is strong but not smart enough.. After the heroine found out about the hero is this and that like I said above, the hero took her to a safe hidden place so her enemies won't find her. “Problem is, I’d fucking planned to tell her. I had every goddamn intention of laying my cards on the table. Then Remy sent me a text about the shooting and I’d realized too late that my time was up. I would’ve explained where I came from. Who my family was—the ones who raised me only to destroy me. I intended to outline all the underhanded tactics I’d used to keep her close. To win her over. To make her mine. Then my brother fucked me. ” He even risk so much so that the heroine can be safe under his protection. SO HE BASICALLY CAN FCKING PROTECTS HER FOR HER OWN GOOD BECAUSE HE FCKING LOVE THIS STUPID B*TCH SO MUCH... “I played the role of personal chef, supplying every meal to her bedroom only to be forced to leave it on a tray in the hall because she wouldn’t unlock the door. She won’t talk to me. Acknowledge me. I left her a new toothbrush, shampoo, and soap, yet I get nothing in return. Not even a grunt or a curse. I’m sure she knows it’s driving me insane.” He even sit on wall in his room all day so he can listen to the heroine's footsteps 🥺🥺 “During the day, I spend hours sitting on the floor in my room, my back to our adjoining wall, listening to her occasional footsteps as I drink scotch from the bottle. The nights are worse. That’s when I sit in the darkness of the deck, my attention firmly affixed on her silhouette through the sheer curtains behind the French doors leading to her room.” The hero knows that the heroine's brother or family can take care of her and keep her safe for sure but because he wants the heroine soo badly, he offer her family something so he can keep an eye to the heroine. Basically like he wants to always see her because that's how much he loves the stupid heroine. The heroine is so caught up with her own idiotic thoughts about the whole situation, like she doesn't want to listen to others and the truth but just want to listen to her own thoughts. Which is stupid because her brain function is idiotic. She have her teribble past for sure, but that doesn't mean you can be more stupid about it. THE HERO and others tries to tell the heroine the truth about what they did what they did (which is not teribble or so bad) SO MANY TIMES to the heroine at first, they even have no clue to say what anymore to the heroine because SHE'S TOO MAD AND TOO CAUGHT UP WITH HER OWN THOUGHTS SO SHE WON'T LISTEN TO OTHERS WHICH IS THE TRUTH AND FOR HER OWN GOOD. LIKE SHE MADE THIS WHOLE SCENARIO BASED ON HER OWN THOUGHTS AND ALWAYS PUSH OTHERS AWAY CAUSE SHE DOESN'T WANT TO LISTEN. SHE ALWAYS SAY THEY ARE MANIPULATOR BUT THEY ARE NOT!! THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO TELL HER THE WHOLE TRUTH AND THE WHOLE STORY. BUT SHE DOESN'T WANT TO LISTEN... The heroine even do something like as a punishment, she use the hero's credit card to buy a lot of stuff. Fcking btch!!! SHE EVEN BUY HERSELF A TESLA TO PUNISH THE HERO USING HIS MONEY. LIKE WTF?!!? WHAT THE ACTUAL FCK!!! I NEVER SEEN A HEROINE DO THIS AS A PUNISHMENT TO A HERO WHO DIDN'T EVEN DO SUCH A BIG PROBLEM. I know the hero told her to buy anything she wants but to use it so bizarre like that?🤮 “I mean it. Whatever she wants, she gets, okay? Even if it’s Emmanuel’s head stuffed and mounted on her wall. As far as I’m concerned, whatever she asks, we deliver. Whatever she wants,” 🥺🥺❤️ THE HERO BEG AND SAYS SORRY SO MANY TIMES TO THE HEROINE. EVEN THOUGH IN MY OPINION WHAT HE DID IS NOT EVEN A BIG PROBLEM AND SHOULDN'T BE BIGGER, HE DID REALLY BEG HER FORGIVENESS LIKE HE DID SO BADLY WRONG. Damn heroine, how stupid r u. “All you need is a reason to forgive me and I can give that to you, too. My actions were a direct result of my infatuation. I would’ve done anything to keep you close, and I still will, because you’re everything to me. I’m lost to you, Layla. Life without you isn’t something I’m willing to concede to.” “Forgive me, amore mio.” “How can I redeem myself?” “What do I have to do?” “Nice try. Next time aim for my heart.” I place a hand over the thumping organ. “It shouldn’t be hard to find. You own it after all.” “Why can’t you accept my apology? I’d kill kings for you, amore mio. I’d betray gods. I’d slit my wrists if it would make you happy.” I hate how the heroine always judges the hero's past about his family and what they made him do. How could you judge him when he was practically raise by that family? He basically do the bad things from this mafia family because he was born from them which means they fcking take care of him and made him do it. The heroine should be thankful that the heroine is a changed man and not do bad things anymore like his family. She always mads at him because of his family which not fcking fair. FCK YOU VERYMUCH HEROINE. For her to be mad at the hero for so long while he always good to her, patient with her dumbass, even make her daughter to come to see her while knowing it's dangerous cause the heroine's brother will be mad if the hero did. Cause her brother is the one who take care her daughter. “It’s Stella (the daughter) who makes the first move, striding toward him with a smile of admiration.” “Thank you.” If only she knew his family killed her father. “You’re more than welcome, principessa.” “I give him a reprimanding scowl, silently warning him not to manipulate her with his dreamy Italian like he does with me. But he doesn’t meet my gaze. He’s too focused on my daughter, his expression kind, his posture nonthreatening.” LIKE B*TCH HIS FAMILY WHO DID IT!!!! NOT HIM!!!!!! OMG.... I CAN'T WITH THIS HEROINE. HE EVEN NICE TO HER DAUGHTER BUT SHE GAVE HIM A SCOWL FOR DOING IT??????? KNOWING THERE'S ENEMY WHO WANT HER AND THE DAUGHTER DEAD BUT YOU SCOWL AT THE HERO WHO'S TRYING TO HELP YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER FOR FREE WHILE YOU TREAT HIM LIKE SH*T???!! 🤬🤬 UNGRATEFUL WOMAN!!!! LIKE SHE CANNOT HERSELF SAYING "if only she knew his family killed her father" YEAH FAMILY. NOT HIM!!!! BIG FCKING DIFFERENCE!!!! THE BLOOD IS NOT IN HIS HAND BUT HIS FAMILY FOR FCK SAKE HEROINE HOW COULD YOU BE SO FCKING STUPID!! ‼️‼️‼️ I don't get why the heroine so mad about her husband being killed by the hero's family when her husband actually treat her like sh*t in their marriage and even cheats on her 😂😂😂 “A responsibility. A chore. He never loved me.” Then why you cared so much about the hero's family killed your husband????! Like she literally always say that during conversation about how to get the revenge, if she saw her daughter talking to the hero she thought it and was wrong cause his family killed her daughter's dad and when she meet the hero's family.... Like she really hurt by it and defend her husband's honor but at the same time this is her version about her husband😒 “Yet you’re the one who trapped me here with the son of my husband’s murderer.” She said this even after she already talk to the hero about staying with him afterall and somehow kinda forgive him.... See? She still considered the hero is that. THE SON, NOT THE ONE WHO DID IT. WHY SHE SOOO STUPID TO KNOW THE BIG DIFFERENCE 😒😒😒 Idk what to believe what she thinks anymore... ONE MINUTE she believes the hero, one minute she blame on him again and again, one minute she wants him so badly and one minute thinking their relationship is not right. This happens a lot, almost throughout the whole book. So frustrating to read her POV, she's an adult but her mindset is so childish and small minded person. The hero obviously loves her and never cheat on her. “Tobias said he heard my dad had cheated on her.” “Would you ever do that to her?” “Never. And I’ll take that vow to the grave.” 🥺🥺💙💙💙 ‼️‼️‼️SPOILER. THE HERO even have to stab himself in the arms and little on the neck to BEG HER FORGIVENESS. HE BEG AND KNEELING WHEN HE DO THAT SO THAT THE HEROINE CAN FORGIVE HIM... AND WHAT HE DID IS NOT TOO BIG OF PROBLEM ANYWAY BUT HE DID FOR THE HEROINE. She even dare him to do it which really made me mad so much🤬🤬🤬😡😡🤯 “If this is what it takes to heal you. If my death is what you need, take it.” Did she forgave him after that? BIG GIANT NO. She kissed the hero though so he can stopped, he did. They were starting to have s*x but the annoying part is that the heroine said something like this when they were doing that hot touching scenes. “I need this mistake to be over. For the pleasure to come and go so I can start regretting my actions. Because right now, all I want is more.” Mistake to be over b*tch??? He just fcking cut his hands for you so you can forgive him, he even do it to his neck as well and you said mistake???!!!! Damn this heroine is blind by heart as well, blind by her stupidity 🤢🤢 The heroine already see the hero is bleeding even tho is not much but it's there and he did for her, and what she did? She push him away again. While he is fcking bleeding for her!!!! “I’m not letting you go. I won’t lose you now.” “You never had me to begin with.” She even said it was a mistake that she kissed him and have hot moments with him. WHILE HE BLEEDS!!!!!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU HEROINE!!!!!!!! 🤢😡 EVEN AFTER THE HERO DO THAT, THE HEROINE CLAIMS SHE STILL DON'T TRUST THE HERO AND STILL AFRAID IF THE HERO HURT HER. WHEN ALL THIS TIME, THE HEROINE IS THE ONE WHO HURT HIM AND HURT HERSELF BECAUSE OF THAT STUPID ERROR BRAINS OF HER😒😒😒 You can see on why I'm frustated and say many times about the heroine because she's like that. She made the hero to even do something like that because on how denial and mean she is to the hero. She always doesn't want to listen and always push the hero away when they were together in that hidden place that he basically do it for the heroine. He knows that he it's very risky to do it but he do it for the heroine... Seriously he have no doubt when it comes to the heroine, when someone ask why he just proudly and loudly say it's worth it for the heroine. That the stupid ungrateful b*tch is worth it. BRAVO HERO. FCK YOU HEROINE. I WANT THE HERO FOR MYSELF SERIOUSLY HERO I CAN TREAT YOU BETTER😂😂😂😂😂 Like if in that moment if the hero decided to throw her away and let his family killed her, I would be so happy about it😂 Cause that's how much I really don't like the heroine. AND NO THE HEROINE IS NOT ONLY STUBBORN, BUT SHE IS FOR SURE STUPID. ONE OF THE STUPIDEST HEROINE CHARACTER IN A NOVEL I EVER READ IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I feel bad for the hero to gave his feelings for the dumb heroine. He deserve much better! He even ask himself like this: “What have I done to you? How do I fix this?” Because we all can see that the heroine is mad at the hero for something that's not a big problem. It's his family fault, not him! “We’re not getting rid of his brothers.” Bishop stabs at his meal. “Those fuckers aren’t worth the time it would take to dispose of the bodies.” “They killed my husband.” She raises her chin. See. The heroine still mad at the hero after all of that sh*t, she mad about his brothers and because she can't blame it on them physically, she throw it all her anger to the hero which is not fair at all😡😡 ‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING AND NO SEPARATION ‼️‼️‼️TRIGGER: Killing, death, stabbing, violence, mafia and sadness. ‼️‼️‼️The whole story is thrilling and fun and mysterious and badass. Little fun though (in my opinion) because there's too much of fighting against each other and not the real enemy... I like it when a crime love story like this that also involves with the Italian mafia has a great romance in it. More focused on the drama that is about their enemies, and not the main couple. The hero is great, he's not the one who cause the problem and trouble. ‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE FOR SURE. YES OVER THE TOP (In a romantic and right way, not in a wrong way) HE IS EXTREMELY OBSESSED WITH THE HEROINE LIKE NO OTHER... I LOST COUNT ON HOW MANY TIMES HE SAID TO HIMSELF, TO THE HEROINE AND TO ANYONE THAT THE HEROINE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON FOR HIM. HE WILL SAY THAT PROUDLY AND HAPPILY... “I keep staring at the woman who owns me. The one whose pleas I need to value more than any other.” The hero even wants to sacrifice himself if that what the heroine wants, he is willing to go war with anyone like even his own blood if that the heroine told him to do... THE HERO IS THE BEST EVER. I LOVE HIM THE MOST. Even when the heroine is being such a fcking b*tch and fcking evil person to him, he always says something like this: “She keeps pushing me away. There’s always a new excuse. Another reason. A different story. None of it fucking matters. I’m not going anywhere. I want her—mistakes, lies, and all.” “Because even though Layla loves me, I want her to love herself even more. I can’t watch her wallow in self-loathing. I can’t put her through more shit.” Omg hero can you just be with me instead cause I definitely will treat you better than her😂😂😂 I LOVE YOU HERO.... YOU'RE THE BEST❤️❤️❤️❤️ ‼️‼️‼️READ ABOVE to know what the heroine is, i hate her so much. I want to punch her so bad. She fcking deserve to be punch or to be smack at the back at her head😡😡😡 Her character is the worst, it's like the sh*t in the book is her. Again, fck you very much heroine. Even for a patient person, I do not tolerate this heroine character. She's a toxic person!!!! 🤬🤬 She always claims she have this issue with her dad, and she always fcking used that to everything in her life... She always blames herself for it, she always labels her dad is like the hero WHEN IT'S NOT AND THE HERO IS MUCH BETTER. BUT THE DUMB HEROINE DON'T KNOW THE FCKING DIFFERENCE!!! EVEN HER OWN DAUGHTER EVENTUALLY KNOWS THAT THE HERO'S FAMILY KILLED HER DAD, YOU KNOW WHAT SHE DID? THE DAUGHTER DIDN'T BLAME THE HERO AT ALL AND NOT EVEN BE MAD AT HIM BECAUSE SHE KNOWS THAT THE HERO HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HER DAD... ‼️‼️‼️ The heroine realize the hero is great and all when he got shoot and was dying. That took a real long time for her to realize it. And it was in the end of the book. ‼️‼️‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW AND OM. ‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING. ENGAGED.

This is the second book in this duet and I do recommend reading them in order. Layla and Matthew’s story continues. Layla’s heart was broken in the first book when she learned the truth. Will Matthew be able to piece it back together in the second? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and action. Great characters with lots of depth and sizzling chemistry and steamy scenes. I liked it.

Loved it Brilliant book from start to finish. I loved how Matthew was with Layla and the love he showed her. I actually felt for his brothers too and was glad they were together in the end. I feel there is clearly room for another book with that ending and hope we don't have to wait too long. Loved it Brilliant book from start to finish. I must preface this review by stating that Layla was not a character that I particularly wanted or needed a story for and have found it quite hard to excuse her transgressions (that we learn about in previous books). However, in the first installment of this duet, Seeking Vengeance, we got to see the inside workings of Layla’s thoughts and deeds and I got a taste for her as a flawed, troubled woman who is deserving of consideration as a genuine heroine. And then of course, we were introduced to I must preface this review by stating that Layla was not a character that I particularly wanted or needed a story for and have found it quite hard to excuse her transgressions (that we learn about in previous books). However, in the first installment of this duet, Seeking Vengeance, we got to see the inside workings of Layla’s thoughts and deeds and I got a taste for her as a flawed, troubled woman who is deserving of consideration as a genuine heroine. And then of course, we were introduced to Matthew and any doubts I had for a memorable story about this couple were pummeled into dust! Layla and Matthew’s story is an engrossing and captivating piece of writing. This story involves characters that are some of the most lovable and entertaining individuals you will meet i.e., Bishop and Matthew, along with ones that one not necessarily wants to like, but the author has been able to capture a sympathetic ideal for the reader to attach their empathy to. This book has some slightly dark content, however, for me, these scenes were necessary for the plot development as well as the burgeoning relationships between Layla and those closest to her, and in addition, for the growth of each individual character involved. Ruthless Redemption has scenes that hit a powerful punch! At certain times, you can genuinely feel the anguish exploding from the pages. The chemistry between Layla and Matthew is tormentingly flammable and you can practically feel the heat radiating through as you behold the words before your eyes. Manipulation in all its forms helps drive this story to its completion. Layla has been exploited, controlled and influenced by those closest to her…her father, her husband and to a degree her brother. Layla craves love and acceptance and the men in her life have used that desperation to manipulate her into doing things that can be considered reprehensible. Matthew is no different. However, Matthew…oh Matthew, you delightfully wicked, provocative, tantalising Dio you… seductively manipulates Layla’s feelings in a way that for a woman like me, is sometimes hard to handle, however, it certainly makes for a wonderfully delicious, suspenseful tug of war between the couple as to who will eventually give in. I loved how the author allowed Matthew to be vulnerable and to have that vulnerability be a strength rather than a weakness. His devotion to Layla is deep and soulful and his use of Italian, interspersed throughout the narrative, created passion and an intimacy that not only set out to seduce Layla but also had that desired effect on this reader as well. The engaging and sometimes outlandishly comical banter between Bishop and Layla; Bishop and Matthew; Bishop and Salvatore & Remy….uummmm…you sensing a theme here???...leads to some very compulsive reading. I wholeheartedly recommend this absorbing and grippingly seductive story….it has cemented itself into my top read by Eden Summers and this couple as one of the most entertaining lovers written. 5 AWESOME STARS!!!!!!

Obsessive, passionate & powerful The second book in the Hunting Duet, RUTHLESS REDEMPTION was an intriguing and suspenseful read from beginning to end. This is the continuing story of Matthew Langston and Layla Torian-Hart. Will Matthew be able to redeem himself in Layla's eyes, now that she knows all his truths? There was plenty of action, drama, family rules, and yes, some passion, which kept me addicted throughout. "She wants me dead. Rightly so. I lied. Deceived. Manipulated. But she did, too Obsessive, passionate & powerful The second book in the Hunting Duet, RUTHLESS REDEMPTION was an intriguing and suspenseful read from beginning to end. But she did, too. The wreckage of our relationship lays at both our feet." Layla's heart was not only broken when she learned of Matthew's heritage, it was decimated. The man she had trusted and fallen in love with, had deceived her from the very beginning. Was their relationship irreparable? Matthew is a man obsessed, yet he is unable to proclaim his love due to his past, how can he convince Layla that she owns his heart, body, and soul? I love how Matthew tries every dirty trick in the book to win back Layla, but she's stubborn and strong willed, which causes even more conflict between them. While contending with the thoughts running through her head, and the emotions in her heart, Layla is concerned about the safety of her daughter and is in despair over the treatment from her own family. All Matthew desires is Layla and her forgiveness, but he is also trying to ensure her protection from those who wish to have her annihilated. "You made me worship a fictional character. I loved a man that was make believe." "And I'll make sure you feel the same about the real me." I loved Matthew's perseverance at trying to win back Layla's trust and heart, although I must admit he did go overboard a couple of times with his sneakiness. I can honestly say, he would have won me over very easily. Layla's own stubbornness did get on my nerves a little bit, she wasn't perfect either, but it seemed she put more weight on Matthew's past and forgot about her own. The one person who really had me sniggering though was Bishop, the situations that poor man walked in on, and he didn't even raise an eyebrow! "You will never lose me. Even in death, you'll be my obsession." RUTHLESS REDEMPTION may have been about the seeking of redemption for past mistakes or regrets, but it was also the continuing story of attaining vengeance for pain that had been suffered at the hands of others. It was a story of obsession, power, trust, love, and control. It was intriguing, exhilarating, violent, passionate, and unforgiving. Ms. Summers has brought all the characters from her Hinting Her series into this one, ensuring that tension exists with the turn of every page. The ending of RUTHLESS REDEMPTION allows for more of this story to be told, and I can't wait to see what Eden produces next. RUTHLESS REDEMPTION, a tension filled conclusion to a passionate duet. This is the continuing story of single mother Layla Torian, and businessman Matthew Langston’s story line. RUTHLESS REDEMPTION should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of book one SEEKING VENGEANCE. I recommend reading the HUNTING HER series for back story and cohesion where Layla’s story begins. Told from dual first person perspectives (Layla and Matthew) RUTHLESS REDEMPTION picks up immediately after the cliff hanger of SEEKING VENGEANCE in which Layla Torian discovers the true identity of the man with whom she had fallen in love, and the extent to which her extended family wishes she no longer existed. A virtual prisoner of the man she once loved, Layla struggles with her attraction to a man who all but destroyed her life. What ensues is the tempestuous relationship between Layla and Matthew, and the potential fall-out as Matthew’s history, and Layla’s past collide, in a fight to the death. Layla Torian no longer trusts Matthew Langston, or the family that supposedly has let her down. Years under the ruthless control of her father have left Layla embattled and alone but her only thoughts are for the daughter she left behind. Succumbing to Matthew’s apologies and seduction forces Layla to look at the bigger picture when the truth is finally revealed. Matthew Langston knows that when Layla discovers the reality of his past, there may be no turning back from the betrayal and deception but Matthew is willing to risk everything for the woman he loves. The relationship between Matthew and Layla struggles in the face of secrets, lies and betrayal. Layla is an outcast; a prisoner; a woman on her own but a woman who is determined to regain her freedom, perhaps at the cost of everything she knows. Matthew is desperate for Layla’s forgiveness but protecting our heroine is first and foremost on his mind. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate but I struggle with the use of a certain four-letter word, used only once, but to what purpose. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Layla’s extended family of siblings and one-time friends from the original Hunting Her series: Decker and Keira, her brother Cole, Layla’s daughter Stella; Matthew’s brothers Salvo and Remy; Matthew’s right-hand man Bishop, as well as his uncle Lorenzo, and his father Emmanuel. RUTHLESS REDEMPTION is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, obsession and love. The premise is heart breaking, edgy and emotional; the romance is captivating and impassioned; the characters are broken, lost, energetic and resolute. RUTHLESS REDEMPTION ends on a bit of a cliff hanger-you have been warned. www.thereadingcafe.com

Even more explosive and passionate! I absolutely LOVED Layla and Matthew in their first book! RUTHLESS REDEMPTION picked up exactly where SEEKING VENGEANCE finished with such a kicker cliff-hanger that my heart completely ripped in two at the exposure of a deep betrayal that might well be the end of Matthew’s love and life as he knows it. He’s made a deal with the devil himself, Cole Torian, and Layla Torian-Hart sees it as the most brutal betrayal of all. I had absolutely no idea what Ms Summers had going on with these two, but a seething and betrayed Layla was not feeling the love at all. I also loved getting a little insight into the life that Matthew had pulled himself out of and the family he had turned his back on, making me admire him all the more – if that was possible. And I continue to be amazed at the talent of Ms Summer’s writing where we find out just what type of man he is and has been, and it turns out that we love him even more!?! Also, how is it that Matthew’s love for Layla and his next-level-obsession to earn her forgiveness doesn’t cause ‘stalker-alert’ alarms to be fiercely ringing in our heads?? The gift of writing, that’s why. As for Layla not feeling the love in her current situation, that was an understatement! The anger from her pretty much emanated from the virtual pages of RUTHLESS REDEMPTION. She was vibrating with so much fury and vitriol that I feared she would soon lose one of the best things that could ever happen in her life. This brings me to Stella, Layla’s daughter who gave Matthew her absolute seal of approval. She was an absolute gem and had such a mature head on her shoulders that belied her years. And Bishop!!!!! *fanning myself* I loved him! He was every bit as growly and alpha as Matthew and also had such a dirty mouth and dry sense of humour. What a man! Dangerously deadly, loyal to a fault and hiding a passion so deep it’s going to take one helluva feisty woman a month of Sunday’s to chip away at his armour. I’d definitely love to see more of him. I’m also hoping that this Hunting Duet is a lead into Matthew’s family because his brothers will have a tale to tell of extreme control and torment, and I can’t even imagine what their sister Abri’s story will entail. If you haven’t gathered by now that I absolutely loved RUTHLESS REDEMPTION, then I’ll put here that it deserves so much more than the measly 5-Star maximum allowed. This duet is a must-read / re-read and one that I’ll earnest recommend. I’m sure you’ll love it 💔💣💥 #mumsalwaysreading #bookblogger #bookreviewer #marnsreads #marnsj

We pick right up in this book two with Cole Torian and Matthew still swinging fists at each other. Ruthless Redemption moves that battle to the one readers are looking for, the battle between Layla and Matthew, with the ultimate goal of either loving and committing to each other or potentially walking away from the one person who loves you. There are lies (on both sides) to sort out. Can they truly be together or is there just too much between them that may keep them apart. From believing deep down in herself that her family has truly given up on her and are leaving her to clean up her own mess, to what may be a fight to the death, these two have so much to work out. Eden Summers again has given readers a love story that could go sideways. Ruthless Redemption has readers’ emotions taking a rollercoaster ride that pits not just Layla and Matthew against each other but adds in Cole Torian, Hunter and other family members to either give advice or take sides. Add in the fact that Emmanuel Costa is bound and determined to harm Layla and if that means killing his own son(s) he is ready to do just that. Is there anyone they can trust? I re-read the last few chapters in book one before starting book two and I have come to the same conclusion, book one was amazing, but this book two…is fantastic. It gave readers everything they needed except for one little question, what’s your answer Bella?

Well, where to start! I've loved this group of characters since I discovered Hunter 🖤. All of the characters throughout this series have kept me completely enthralled in these books. She was spoiled and self centred and seemed to care for no one but herself. In 'Seeking Vengeance' the first part of this duet, I began to see why Layla was how she was. Neglected, spoken down to and used by her family and husband. She had never experienced love (or lust). Until Matthew came along. Through this book Layla began her journey, discovering herself and building her confidence. She showed she was no longer the meek, spoiled b.tch that she had been and was making herself a force to be reckoned with. In Ruthless Redemption, her and Matthews story continues. Their chemistry smoulders and you can feel the heat rising from the pages. Matthews character shines in so many ways, he's perfect (apart from being a bit psycho ha!). Gorgeous, sexy, polite, dark, strong loyal. What more could you want!? We hear more from Bishop (and need lots more in future) and follow the Costa's story through surprising developments and through to satisfying conclusion. I loved to catch up with favourites from the series, Cole, Decker, Keira, Sarah and Hunter. This book puts you through the wringer, a rollercoaster of emotions. I was gutted when it ended. If you haven't read this series, you really MUST! I can't wait for more, fantastic work from Eden once again

Layla remains a strong, perfectly flawed heroine while Matthew’s intense feelings towards Layla along with his heart-melting, seductive words left me swooning. With a relationship forged on misunderstandings and revealed secrets, trust needs to be re-established. Can his all encompassing obsession with her and her deep love for him overcome all of their obstacles? This author continues to wow me with her ability to create likable characters and captivating storylines which providing the reader with that perfect combination of drama, steam, and suspense. This was a fast paced novel that kept me enthralled from beginning to end. I reveled in the evolution of Matthew’s and Layla’s relationship while also enjoying the contributions from former characters that we know and love along with some new ones as well. Ruthless Redemption is the conclusion to Matthew’s and Layla’s story. The author did leave a few little loose ends that pave the wave for some of the secondary characters to get their own books. I voluntarily read an early version of this novel. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

Layla's betrayal almost tore her family apart and she's been paying for it ever since. But nothing compares to what she's gotten herself into now. Layla would be different. He'd prove himself worthy of her. Sure he was ruthless and possessive when it came to her, but this time none of that mattered. The only thing that mattered to Matthew was protecting Layla and making her his. HOLY-SMOKING-HOT-MOLY!!! THIS BOOK IS HOT, RAW AND FILTHY IN ALL THE BEST WAYS🔥 I WAS TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY! HIGH INTENSITY RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE! AN ENTERTAINING AND ALL CONSUMING STORY WHICH HAD ME HOOKED AND INTRIGUED FROM THE START! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to leave an honest review. This is the second book to finish out Layla and Matthew's story but is part of the overall Hunting Her series which is 6 books that precede these. I have read the entire series and it is definitely helpful to read the others for the background information but definitely read Seeking Vengeance before this one. I'm going to try not to give any spoilers but it is going to be tough. This book follows Layla and Matthew. Layla is the sister to Cole Torian who is the head of the Portland mafia. Layla is trying to get vengeance on the Costas family for the wrongs they have done against her family and specifically her. In the first book of this series, she meets Matthew who is a nightclub owner from DC. But he is not who he seems to be which breaks Layla's heart when she finds out. The first book ends with her trying to leave him and the second book is basically him trying to win her back and fulfill her quest for vengeance. I honestly have tons more I could say but it would all spoil the first and second books. Overall I would definitely say read if you love a good mafia romance. Eden does a great job with the whole series. I cannot wait to see who the next book will be about.

Ruthless Redemption Hunting Duet, Book 2 By: Eden Summers Narrated by: D.C. Cole, Laura Jennings So once again, Eden Summers pulls me in for 10 hours of amazing romantic suspense! Thrills, unexpected twists and turns and a love that cannot be extinguished, we are on that mission with these two. Plus we get glimpses and cameos from some of our favorites from the Hunting Her series which just makes me love it more. This is a fantastic duet and should be on your list to listen to. DC Cole and Laura Jennings have proven just how fantastic they are together with the Hunting Her and Hunting Duets. This team is perfect as the characters, and their styles of narration compliment each other. Matthew's obsession with Layla comes shining through in Cole's performance. Just on the edge of crazy, but true love emanating in his voice make him impossible not to love. Layla's desperation, frustration, anger and love come through in spades with Jennings voicing each feeling with incredible emotion. The perfect team for an amazing performance.

This book was everything I could’ve wanted and more to continue Layla and Matthews story. It is definitely a part 2 rather than a stand alone, but I enjoyed it none the less. Too many times we see a dominant man trying to redeem himself towards his woman by being nothing but soft and gentle, losing all of his character traits that we like in the first place, just to get his woman back. Like no- I liked you because you were dominating and charismatic, not a whipped little boy. Thankfully, this doesn’t apply to Matthew. He’s willing to work for it and boy does he. It was great to see some of the old gang AND without giving too much away, Stella really stole the show. Eden, I am always amazed by your work- and that ending? Made my heart explode. Thank you for forcing me to give Layla a chance instead of just writing her off. Though sometimes misguided, she is a complex character who deserved a story of her own. I can’t wait to see what's next in this world.

Because he made a promise to help me get revenge on those we despise. And once that's over, so are we. This is the second book in the Hunting Duet from Eden Summers. You have to read the first book, Seeking Vengeance or you are going to be lost. This book picks right back up in the deep end of where we were when Seeking Vengeance ended with Cole Tornian and Matthew still in a fist fight. But it isn't very long till we are rewarded with the fight we have been holding our breath waiting for. The one between Matthew and Layla. A fight that will either end with them in the most amazing and rewarding relationship with each other or them going their separate ways. After all there is so much between them and a lot of that is lies and secrets and lies and so much that has gone one to hurt each other. Layla also believes with all her heart that her family had truly given up on her and are leaving her with this huge mess to clean up all on her own for a change. I do not want to go in to the details of the story because I feel like I might say something that would be a spoiler and I never want to do that. This story was really good and I really loved Matthew and the way he could just make you melt with the words coming out of his mouth. This story has emotions flying all over the place. Huge secrets and lies. You have people who are picking sides and giving advice But the really huge thing is Matthew's dad Emmanuel Costa is bound and determined to hurt Layla!! If he has to kill his own son to do it he is ready for that. I don't think there is anyone in this world that either of them can trust really!! You need to find a comfortable seat because I spent most of the time reading this book on the edge of my seat. I really loved it and think it is a story that you guys are going to love reading too!!

As a side note, I love this couple, but I think my favorite remains Bishop. In the first book, I wasn't much of a fan, he wasn't present too much, and then the author brings in character development (and BAM). What a development has it been =))))) I am grateful the story didn't go to MFM trope, don't get me wrong, that scene is very hot and I am a big fan of MFM if written accordingly, but I am glad Eden stopped it where she did. Bishop deserves his own love, and I couldn't have imagined Matthew sharing. I can't wait to see his story, to see that he will finally get the happiness he deserves - he deserves it tenfold after the drama the MCs put him through:)))))). Anyway, I recommend this series, it has everything in it, especially spice ;)

Ruthless Redemption is definitely well written and the romance is there, but the storyline and underlying themes are dark and a bit twisted. Blood and lust are key ingredients to making Ruthless Redemption a page turner. Although not a cliff hanger, there are some unresolved aspects of the storyline that I hope will lead into another book featuring Layla and Matthew. I did not want this story to end but the prospect of another book, perhaps with Bishop as the leading man, softens the blow of goodbye..... for now.

Eden Summers has an absolute winner in Ruthless Redemption. Whereas Seeking Vengeance established who Layla and Matthew are, Ruthless Redemption presses on and sends the plot into overdrive. Matthew is dark, demanding, and domineering. He likes filthy talk and filthy sex, and he likes to love wholly. The intended light to his dark, Layla surprises him here. She shows him not just what is in her bloodline, but all the possibilities their relationship has. As with all her books Eden Summers writes with a pulse pounding style that keeps you on the edge of your seat. At the same time, she's very good at adding the little interactions between people that make the story real and relatable to the audience. She's excellent at describing the setting so it paints itself in your mind. Lastly, but not least, she writes just beautifully grasped characters. This is a must-read book for everyone!

The characters were great and I loved reading about them. I would definitely recommend Ruthless Redemption. The whole duet is a must read!!

Once Layla learns the truth, that her family didn’t abandon her and she learns about the deal Matthew made with Cole, I couldn’t stop reading. Was she going to stay after all? What was going to happen with Salvatore and Remy? How would Bishop’s story go? Are they going to finally kill Emmanuel? So many questions asked - I had to keep reading until I had the answers. I highly recommend everything Eden Summers. You will not be disappointed.

Let's begin this review with the fact that you CANNOT read this as a stand alone, nope, it's the conclusion to Layla & Matthew's story which started in Seeking Vengeance (Book 1). Next up is the fact that I'm a BIG fan of Eden Summers, and usually the books that I experience from her talented self are perfect, but I had a few issues with Ruthless Redemption to be honest. Not enough to rate it lower, but I have a personal preference about my books that others may or may not share as we're all dif Let's begin this review with the fact that you CANNOT read this as a stand alone, nope, it's the conclusion to Layla & Matthew's story which started in Seeking Vengeance (Book 1). Not enough to rate it lower, but I have a personal preference about my books that others may or may not share as we're all different. At this point, I felt like Layla was going backwards so I had a hard time with her, and while I loved Matthew, he pulled an action or two that I wasn't down with when push comes to shove. I'm a very protective girl which means I have a certain way of looking at protective heroes which is a me thing. Just because I'm saying these things about this book doesn't mean I'm going to stop reading this author because as many books as I read, I'm going to come across a few like that. Anyway, the suspense factor was totally my jam which made it impossible to put down so at the end of the day, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This ending to Layla and Matthew's story, following on from SEEKING VENGEANCE, was always going to be action packed, and it delivers in kind. The pair start this story world's apart. Then, when she does finally give in to his apologies and seduction, they share a scene with Bishop which had me questioning the obsession each voiced for one another so vehemently. But they came together eventually and it felt like the story could finally get moving again. And it certainly picked up speed all the way to the bullet ridden conclusion. I didn't quite connect with this story as I did the first of the duet, perhaps a lot to do with Layla, with whom I struggled to really get on board with, and I also felt the ending a bit abrupt. I was really keen for a decent Epilogue with this one. All in all, this author still pens one hell of a story, and you'll definitely get it with the conclusion to this Hunting Duet. 3.5 stars

This book was worth the wait. I've been longing for the conclusion of Matthew and Layla's story. Both characters were in need of redemption and more than a little self forgiveness. Her desire for Matthew, her fear of rejection by her family, her commitment to putting things right. My heart ached for her need to be loved and to fit somewhere. She definitely gains strength as the book progresses and the Layla of the books ending is a far cry from the meek shadow of earlier parts of the stories. Matthew remains controlled and charming within this book. He is all in for winning Layla back. I found myself seduced by his beautiful words and adorable ways. I loved his single minded focus on Layla as his future and his lack of fear in the face of Cole or his own ruthless family. This is the perfect conclusion to this heated, chemistry packed, character driven, Mafia duet. If you're a fan of Eden Summers you will love the roles played by the previous leads (Hunter never fails to make me smile).

I cannot express how much love I have for this whole world! Eden has such an enchanting writing style that I literally get lost between the pages and I feel like I'm right there with these characters! Layla is such a strong FMC, she holds her own with poise and grace even when she's falling apart on the inside, and I admire her strength to keep her head held high even with the weight of her mistakes weighing down on her Matthew, phew this guy, everytime he opens his goddamn mouth I'm a puddle of I cannot express how much love I have for this whole world! These are both beautifully damaged souls, but can they overcome everything that's thrown at them? My admiration for Eden's story telling knows no bounds, she takes unlikeable characters and is able to make us fall at their feet. Every character in this book needs a story - I can't get enough and I don't think I ever will! P.S I'm sorry Hunter but I think Bishop just pushed you off your top spot 😏

This is the thrilling conclusion to Matthew and Layla's suspenseful and sizzling romance! Layla felt betrayed by Matthew and now he must do whatever it takes to win back her trust and heart. But Layla is still on a mission of revenge for the murder of her husband and it will pull Matthew back into a world he has worked hard to leave behind. They both carry deep guilt over past decisions and are unsure if they can find the redemption that will save them before their enemies take them out first. My heart hurt for these star-crossed lovers, but I loved how they fought and found their way back to each other. This is a thrilling and seductive rollercoaster ride of emotion. This fast paced story, with all of it's twists and turns as secrets are revealed, is so riveting, it takes your breath away. There are still some loose ends that leave me wanting more but enjoyed this heart-pounding, steamy conclusion to Matthew and Layla's love story!
